I had to quickly move my 91 year old mother from Royal Oak House (which used to be an American House until it was sold) due to ROH closing for renovations. With the help of A Place for Mom, appointments were made at two American Houses - Hazel Park and Troy. Both were nice; I selected the Hazel Park facility because it was closer to me and the Assistant Director there (Chris Laymac) is known to both me and my mother, as she was the Director at American House Royal Oak. The move went smoothly; easy access to the elevator around the back of the facility, There was also a shopping cart available to load small boxes and bags to bring up directly to her room. My mother loves the food and enjoys her dining companions. She has told me that she is content here - and you'd have to know my mother to know that that is an A Plus rating!

American House Brownstown is a very clean and comfortable community.The staff is very kind and are readily available to answer all of my questions. There are many activities available. I really like that it is very easy to get to with many roads to arrive to this community.

It's a nice place. The people are nice. I'm not thrilled about the location, but that is just personal preference. The only issue we had was getting the wiring set up for the phone and the cable and things.

I don't know why people would review this place so badly. I have a loved one that lives here, the management has been stable, in fact, it is WAY better than the place down the road that is a national corporation. They have made significant changes from the time I toured 2 years ago. Everyone is always friendly, staff has been there over 6 months now, and you can see how happy and well taken care of every person who lives there is. Don't pay attention to old reviews because that does not reflect how things are now.

I was very impressed with the activities available from movie night to Wii bowling to the card room. Residents can do as much or as little as they want. I enjoyed the idea that housekeeping comes everyday and cleans the whole apartment once a week. The layout of the apartment is exactly what my father in law needed. I would strongly recommend American House if anybody is looking for a great place to live.

Mom really moved in very well. She was warmly accepted by the staff and resident from the very first day. She joined in with the residents as if she had known them for a long time. Having her own things there when she arrived in her apartment was very comforting. A few adjustment to placing her personal items and she was fine, and at home. The staff has been wonderful, kind, smiles on their faces, and laughter. Always helpful without a complaint. We have never seen a negative word out of anyone. How wonderful! Thank you so much.

It's going great, the people are so nice. We haven't had any complaints about food or laundry or any of that stuff either. We visited quite a few places, and this was the best one in our price range. They were pretty easily our first choice.

I like it, I think it's a really nice place. Mom seems to like it. She hasn't complained about food, and has met some people that she likes and gets along with. She seems to be doing really well. We chose them because it seemed to be the best fit for her.

I am very pleased here at Boller Meadows of Browstown. I am very satisfied with the facility. They keep things really clean. f i ever have a maintenance issue they come right away. I am so pleased with things here.

Overall we are very pleased with our experience at American House Lakeside! The facility itself is beautiful, clean, and well kept, and they do a great job helping the people who live here! The staff are all very knowledgeable and friendly, and we really appreciate the help they've given us looking into financial aid programs.

Great options for living arrangements for Ma. From the fact they work with Detroit Area on Aging to the Tax Credit they offer with a minor wait list to qualify of about 10 months combined with the great impression I got from visiting them. And they do offer a personal care program with the medical all included for assisted living. It's a slam dunk. $

We visited this community when we were looking into care options for a loved one. I thought this seemed like a very nice place overall! The staff were friendly, and it looked like they had a lot to offer the residents. The facility itself was clean, and the apartments looked nice and recently modernized.

She was thorough, and made certain I had everything I needed to be comfortable with any choice I would make. The 1-bedroom units were perfectly laid out space, the dining room was inviting. It was obvious that every decision made is done for the benefit of the residents in the community.

The place is conveniently located, the staff is very friendly, and it's very clean. The location is convenient because it is close to where I work. Activities include game night, movie night, and they have people come in.

Felt this is the place for my sister. Deposit posted & awaiting call back & trying to work out apt. with our needed date!

Things have gone well here, overall! It's a great looking community, there are windows everywhere and it has a lighty airy feel. You just get good vibes when you walk in the front door! The staff are great, they really focus on trying to make the residents feel comfortable and at home.

People very friendly, and the home is close to family and friends (including us) The brother really liked this and that helped us make the decision also.
