I am enjoying my stay at this community. They have a variety of activities available, and the residents are very nice. They do not provide meals or housekeeping. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a place with friendly people.

I liked the appearance of the facility inside and out, and the room layouts, and lounge areas, but there was not much dedicated outdoor space for lounging around or gardening. The food is fair and served at prescribed hours, nothing available throughout the day. The staff seem happy and genuinely friendly toward residents and their families. I think it is a good value for the money.

This community is about the same as the other American House communities. It seems like it is just too small for what we were looking for. We wanted more room and more open areas so our loved ones could move around. Too small for what we wanted but not a bad community.

I rated the overall experience a bit lower because right after I moved my mom in, there were cutbacks. There was no longer a person in the office in her building, they cut back on the number of meals, and there was no longer an activities director. The activities were run by residents. It ended up being okay, but I feel it was a better fit for a senior who didn't require a lot of assistance. It is a nice facility for the money. They just need to understand that one building is dedicated to those who need more care, while the other one, which is the one my mom was in, is designed for more independent seniors. They can still get the care, but personally, I would have felt better about it if my mom could have been in the other building. Of course, that came with a higher price tag which we could not afford and after she got on PACE, I was told I couldn't move her over there. I have to say that I'm very thankful that I was able to get her in a place where she could still have her own apartment and she didn't have to go in a nursing home.

I have lived here for two years. Everything was fine and meals were good. Three meals a day including hot breakfasts. There were always two choices for each meal, plus alternates. WELL THINGS CHANGED A YEAR AGO. They now claim breakfast is NOT included, even though my lease and their advertisement says it is. They do provide a box of cold serial and usually a small 1/2 cup of milk. They tell us it is complimentary and we are lucky to get it. Meal choices has been limited to one choice. At least 3 times a week I do not get what I ordered or even on the menu. They have promised for two months to correct this. It has not been fixed. They don't even have a toaster as promised. Can you imagine a BLT on stale bread, not toasted, two pieces of bacon and one slice of tomato. I will change this review if it ever improves.

Our family had an in person tour and we needed a memory care unit and also it has multiple floors and we just knew that would be very difficult for our loved noe

The communication is fair at best, that is where they are lacking for me. Our other problem with the community is that our loved one is physically healthy, however her dementia is not getting any better and the type of care we have hired and are paying for are not doing their job.

When I first moved my mother in it was great and it was worth every penny. Around March, that changed. I did not like the way they handled COVID. They were all isolated to their apartments, no choice of meals and they were delivered in Styrofoam boxes, and she had no interaction with anyone. Due to this, we ended up moving her out. I had issues with the medical staff that American House Oakland as well. Overall, I would not recommend them at this time.

This is all so brand new to us, finding a place that is a good fit for our loved one. We were not aware that the medical team here is separate from the community and the services required are charged a la carte. The staff is friendly and caring but this community is more residents who are active and need little care. There are activities provided for the residents to participate in. The environment is warm and inviting. The dining room is very nice and the meals that they serve are okay. At this point of my mom's life, she does not eat a lot. We think at this time she needs a lot more care than this community can provide.

I toured this community for my father's care. I was not very pleased with the person in charge of the tour. I felt like she did not want to help me with the questions that I had on the care that was offered here. I liked the cleanliness of the community. The menu was nice. We feel like there is staff that could be helpful to my needs for care. Families might find this community to be what they are looking for.

I had a good tour of this community. The staff was kind, and friendly. The community looked nice, and well maintained. Everyone was very kind to my family, and I. The experience went well, but unfortunately their rates were to expensive for our budget.

We toured this community when looking for my mother and it seemed very institutional.

it is smaller and seems more homey staff seem very warm. it is close and clients were active, fresh and clean.

Great views, some private terraces, nice updates - very nice over all! Enjoyed meeting staff.

Very modest accomodations. Lowest price of the 3 we visited today. In process of updating. Pay for utilites and laundry.

Apts. have Balconys or patios.Stove. Some have tubs. We can cut out but our cost. Distance to meals could be a problem

Every thing is great except for the food. Management doesn't seen to care or want to do anything about the quality of the food served. Thinking of moving out.

Many nice helpers, but a few who have been rude and dishonest. A common complaint is that residents' items come up missing. Food is very mediocre and not much care is taken in serving healthy and home-made. Most meals are pre-packaged and/or processed with little attention to dietary needs or cleanliness, and most of the same meals are served each week, week after week. There is a large turnover. Many who live there have spoken negatively about the staff and don't seem happy there. The director and a few of her ladies are very kind and professional and seem to truly care about everyone though.

Only venting machines, difficult for seniors to understand. Infested with gnats, they offer a $15 light to purchase. No staff on holidays, residents are left to celebrate alone. Family or no family. Seem to cater more to the staff than residents.

They recently changed hands. They used to do activities and allow the residents to bring their pets, and they no longer allow this. This has put my loved one at a place where they stay in their room and don't participate in the offered activities. If your loved one can go without their pet this would be a great place for your loved one.
