Avamere

The staff was very helpful in a our stressful situation. We found them to be informative, cooperative, and caring. They did everything possible to speed up the entry process and meet my Mom's needs. Looking forward to being able to recommend the Sandia Springs to others in our situation.

The staff a Emeritus at Sandia Springs have been very helpful from the very first visit that was made. Though my mom has only been there a little over a week. You can tell that they care for the people there. They are taking care of her medical needs. She hasn't been to any activities or socialized yet because she hasn't felt up to doing them. My brother & I have been impressed with the whole experience there so far. There has always been someone to answer any questions that we may have.

It’s clean. It seems a little expensive. We’ve just overall a really good experience with them. I think they take care of our loved one well. There are enough activities, even though our loved one doesn’t really participate much anymore.

My 91 year old father stayed at Mountain Ridge for 10 days while I was out of town. I was referred to Mountain Ridge by the friendly woman from A Place For Mom. She was very kind and helped me tremendously. Dad seemed to enjoy his stay and it eased my mind in that I didn't have to worry about his care. I would recommend anyone to use A Place For Mom if the need arises.

They offer good activities. I have been recommending this community to other people, but they seem a little put off by the price. The food is very good. There is enough parking. There were only minor problems when my folks first moved in, but that’s been all cleared up now.

I looked at several assisted living places for my mother-in-law, and this one was the best fit, it seemed ideal....it was smaller, less intimidating, and the staff has been extremely caring and interested. Our questions and concerns have been addressed, and there is a genuine concern and willingness to help by nearly all staff members who come into contact with the residents. They are very responsive and really do make an effort. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone who is looking for an assisted living option.

We chose Emeritus mostly for the friendliness of the staff and the pricing. They are also very clean and do a good job with activities. I haven't had any complaints about the food. There really isn't anything I can think of that they could do better.

She is doing much better than the nursing home that she was in. She likes it because she has more freedom and more privacy, but she is also getting 24/7 care if she needs it. It is very clean. They cleaned the carpet when she came in. When we went in her room, though, and there was a strong scent of pee because she wears pads, and they only take the trash out once a week. They might need to do that more often. She loves the food! She has options and it tastes much better than the other place. She is getting the nutrition that she was not getting before! When she lived alone, all she ate was Sonic and candy bars. Once we visited the Sandia Springs, we went with it right away.

Although my parents were adamantly opposed to any senior living facility, in the few short weeks they have been there, they have begun to feel like Aspen Ridge is home. I have spent quite a bit of time with them as they acclimate, and have been quite impressed with everything from the upkeep of the nicely appointed and landscaped facility to the attitude of the staff, from the variety of activities and resources to the comfort of the apartments. I feel supported, my parents feel welcome, we're all breathing just a little easier.

We had my father living there about 2 weeks. He died about 2 weeks ago, after being transferred from the hospital. I thought their level of care was excellent; They cooordinated with hospice and checked on him every hour. The staff were very welcoming to us. They were very professional - they have a private dining room, and they went over all the details with us. I have to admit that, not knowing what all this cost, it was competitive with others but it came to about $165 a day for both the care and the studio apartment. That was for a kitchenette, a chair and a sofa bed. The apartment was very bright and well-lit and the facilities were very well taken care of.

Love, the staff and feel of Avamere at Bethany. Very welcoming and very 'homey'. The grounds are beautiful and private. Nice views out the Dining Room and rooms. We like the emphasis on Assisted Living for our Mom. She needs the focus and extra care that Avamere appears capable of providing. We had to move Mom quickly and Avamere bent over backwards to work with us and make things happen. They were awesome! The aides are professional, friendly and really on top of things. The food is very good -- not restaurant quality -- but definitely a B! Would like to see more activities available, but understand that this is pretty much driven by the residents. Everything is clean and fresh smelling. We have toured and visited a lot of facilities and believe this is the best choice for Mom.

The food isn't great and rarely what the menu says. Had some issues with billing but think we've got that straightened out. If we really had another choice would be looking elsewhere. Staff is nice but feel they are not trained well for the most part. Do not use the intercom to keep people informed of changes in schedule. Was no new resident orientation. Hoping new owners will look into these things.

I can’t say enough great things about[name removed], from the time we did our tour till we got my mother in Sage Memory Care, [name removed] is excellent in dealing with families and understanding your necessities of a loved one. My mom has only been there for 3 months and I feel like we are still navigating through some of her daily living routines and her medical needs.

After deciding to visit this site on a whim as a potential place for my Mom to live, I have been very pleased with this as her place to call home. The people (residents and staff) have been welcoming, nice to live/work with and more. My Mom has been happy with the food, the floor plan and the care given. It also comes at a logical and acceptable price.

Problem was the beginning of no house keeping, food was getting lesser and later. Salad bar was going away and not enough in it. Meals delayed, no activity assistance. But they had a lot of activities. They're bus works only take you to East side Dr appts and had to be on their time. Reconstruction made things difficult and understandable.. but staffing was quitting by the droves and were unhappy.. the place was bigger and more open and airy. Grounds were starting to look very shabby.

The staff treat my mom with compassion and respect. The building feels like someone's home, not sterile or clinical. Based on the experience we have had, we would recommend this community to other families who may need a place for their loved ones.

They have had quite a turnover of personnel in the last several months. I don't think some of their training is up to par. However, overall, I can't complain too much. My mother is generally in a safe and clean environment. The staff is friendly and, although my mother no longer eats very well, it appears that there is enough nutrition provided during the three meals per day. I must admit, it's not a great variety of meals that they make, but it's enough where most people should be well fed. I visit my mother 2-3 days per week. Although the facility will do her laundry, I choose to do it myself, so I am aware that she always has clean clothes. Sadly, I'm told that I am one of the few people who routinely visits any of the residents. I have seen for myself that even on holidays such as Christmas and Mother's Day, there are very few people who seem to be visiting many other residents (most of whom are women).

Check to make sure your loved ones' laundry is getting done. They missed my Dad's often!

Staff are friendly and helpful. The facility allows for clients to have a much independence as they want. Very positive environment. With food -They could cook what they have on the menu. They make fancy names but the food is not even close. They need more of a variety of vegetables offered. They have been through several cooks during our stay and all have been poor. For activities; maybe they could have something for people who have more strong cognitive capabilities. I would recommend Avamere of Hermiston to others looking.

Highly recommend. I have personally had a wonderful experience. My Mom is thriving and happy. Which was my want for her. The care is great. Very clean and staffed appropriately. Our issues are addressed timely with the care team.
