This community was nice very clean and well maintained. The staff seemed to be friendly and helpful. One thing that I didn't necessarily care for was they have no on site nursing staff in the care of an emergency. We had seen another community that had a 24hr nurse on staff which gave me piece of mind that if something were to happen there would have someone there.

When we toured the Brookdale, I couldn't help but notice the strong smell of urine. Also, when they took us into the apartments it was stale and smelled like a smoker had lived there before. It was just not visually appealing but the people were very friendly.

Was Not Happy Here

My sister in law was not happy at this community. It was not the community fault, she just didn't like this community. The community is nice, she had a very nice apartment. Everyone was nice and kind to us. I didn't like when she needed to move to memory care they wanted to charge us 2000 dollars more. That was my only problem with this community.

the food is good

We moved mom into Christown on Dec 30th, 2015, so she has only been there a little over a week. But so far we are happy with Christown. The staff is friendly and the food in the dinning room if very good. This was mom's every day complaint about her last place, which was nicer in appearance than Christown, but if you are living there, I'm sure the food is more important than appearance. I have eaten almost every day with mom in the Christown dinning room and I have not had a bad meal. Now they are short handed in the dinning room so you might have to wait a long while before you are served, but the important part here is that the food gets to you hot and is of good quality. Mom does not participate in any of the activities yet, and we have no complaints. I would recommend Brookdale Christown to anyone.

comfortable place, meal plan needs improvement

They have done a good job in making it as comfortable and homey as possible. In terms of areas they can improve, they have changed the residents meal time (dinner has to be over by 3:00pm on Saturday and Sunday) which I am not too happy about that. It is still new, and my parents have good days and bad days, and are still learning their way around and getting used to it.

Nice place overall, a few issues to work on

Overall our experience with Brookdale Christown has been a good one, although there are a few issues that they could work on. It is a nice looking, well kept facility, and the rooms are very spacious. They are also very accommodating when it comes to working with insurance and various financial aid systems. Their maintenance team does a great job responding quickly to any issues that come up. We did have some issues with their billing system when we moved our loved ones in, and it caused a few problems. Those issues have mostly been smoothed out. I'd also like to see them add a few more staff members to their transportation service, it can be difficult to schedule things with them currently. But overall it has been a good experience, and my loved ones seem to be enjoying themselves here.

Have not moved in yet, so this review is based on my experience with the staff. The attention I received was (is) outstanding. All my desires were taken into consideration in finding me an apartment. If being a resident is as exceptional as being a future resident then my experience should be a plus.

Mostly good, with a few concerns

The food has gone down since we have been there, the quality, and the variety, they have a variety, but not as good of a variety. The portion sizes have gone down, especially on salad and dressing. Some of the entertainment can be pretty stale, they have some people play some music and things, there isn't a lot of variety in what comes in. They have the same genres a lot. They had some good pricing for a shared room, the size of it was better than a lot of them I saw.

Emeritus, Camarillo, Cailfornia

I felt that Emeritus had the best value for the buck for assisted living care in this area. The facility is very clean, attentive to residents needs and their individual level of care. The dining room is bright and cheery, outside patios inviting and green thanks to ample landscaping.

Good P.T. but Terrible Food

My husband stayed here in 2023 while getting his strength back following a hospital stay. I'd give The Pallazo good grades in physical therapy. Unlike some other nursing homes, The Pallazo has an indoor walkway where patients can get in their steps. An indoor walkway is very important if a patient is confined during the Phoenix summertime. High grades also go to the discharge nurse, who spent a great deal of time going over discharge instructions. Unfortunately, l have to give a failing grade to the chef and the kitchen staff. The food was terrible! Polish sausage was served almost every day. The meals looked extremely unappetizing. My husband, who is not a fussy eater, barely nibbled at his meals. I wound up bringing in meals from home during my husband’s stay at The Pallazo because he could not tolerate the in-house food. While The Pallazo has many good aspects, as l have noted above, the poor quality of patient meals is the reason l would not recommend a stay at The Pallazo.

I was not super impressed by our tour. The facility felt high end, but I did not think it seemed the cleanest. It was very pricey. This tour was during covid though, so it may have been more limited.

Our first impression of this community was very good, and from what we could tell the community itself was kept pretty clean. We thought the rooms they provided for the residents were fine.

I was not impressed with the memory care area of this community. The area had a musty odor to it and the floors did not seem real clean. The person that took us on tour was not knowledgeable and they left us alone for a time. The assisted living area of this community seemed like a great place.

A nice community!

This community is clean and the staff did a good job, however they did not seem to encourage the residents to participate in any of the activities. Mom did not like the processed food that was served. It seems like they were cutting back on the budget.

This is an old community. I was not comfortable in this community when I took a tour. The place was sad and dark and dim. Not appealing to anything that I thought it would. The community was clean. i probably would not recommend this place due to me not feeling comfortable in there.
