Overall our experience with Brookdale Christown has been a good one, although there are a few issues that they could work on. It is a nice looking, well kept facility, and the rooms are very spacious. They are also very accommodating when it comes to working with insurance and various financial aid systems. Their maintenance team does a great job responding quickly to any issues that come up. We did have some issues with their billing system when we moved our loved ones in, and it caused a few problems. Those issues have mostly been smoothed out. I'd also like to see them add a few more staff members to their transportation service, it can be difficult to schedule things with them currently. But overall it has been a good experience, and my loved ones seem to be enjoying themselves here.

Have not moved in yet, so this review is based on my experience with the staff. The attention I received was (is) outstanding. All my desires were taken into consideration in finding me an apartment. If being a resident is as exceptional as being a future resident then my experience should be a plus.

The food has gone down since we have been there, the quality, and the variety, they have a variety, but not as good of a variety. The portion sizes have gone down, especially on salad and dressing. Some of the entertainment can be pretty stale, they have some people play some music and things, there isn't a lot of variety in what comes in. They have the same genres a lot. They had some good pricing for a shared room, the size of it was better than a lot of them I saw.

I felt that Emeritus had the best value for the buck for assisted living care in this area. The facility is very clean, attentive to residents needs and their individual level of care. The dining room is bright and cheery, outside patios inviting and green thanks to ample landscaping.

I was not super impressed by our tour. The facility felt high end, but I did not think it seemed the cleanest. It was very pricey. This tour was during covid though, so it may have been more limited.

Our first impression of this community was very good, and from what we could tell the community itself was kept pretty clean. We thought the rooms they provided for the residents were fine.

We toured this community and the staff was helpful and answered all of my questions. The skilled nursing was adequate and it was clean. I would recommend families tour this community before they choose a place.

I stopped by for a visit and the community looked fine for what we needed but we didn't get a friendly feeling. The atmosphere was different and we found a community that was very welcoming and friendly.

I was not impressed with the memory care area of this community. The area had a musty odor to it and the floors did not seem real clean. The person that took us on tour was not knowledgeable and they left us alone for a time. The assisted living area of this community seemed like a great place.

The process from transfering from Brookdale Ontario, OR to Brookdale San Juan Capistrano was very difficult and tim e consuming. San Juan Capistrano was very disorganized and information was slow, not a fun process

This community is clean and the staff did a good job, however they did not seem to encourage the residents to participate in any of the activities. Mom did not like the processed food that was served. It seems like they were cutting back on the budget.

This is an old community. I was not comfortable in this community when I took a tour. The place was sad and dark and dim. Not appealing to anything that I thought it would. The community was clean. i probably would not recommend this place due to me not feeling comfortable in there.

I was able to take a tour of this community and it seemed okay. I did notice some residents sitting around watching T.V. and not a lot of interaction. The community seemed to need a lot of care and we felt this place was not suitable for our active mom. I feel she would not be comfortable here.

They are really good about working with me and addressing any concerns I have. So far on the assisted living side the maintenance has been slow to get things set up and done. I was kind of surprised by their cafe, and the lack of cleanliness in the refrigerator and the microwave. The transportation is more limited than I anticipated, they aren't available for rides everyday, and when they are it's only until 2 PM, which isn't very convenient. However, Victoria has been Super nice, and so has Vincent, and Gabriel has been very accommodating. Joel on the wellness floor has also been really nice. I really think it's a great place to have both assisted living, and skilled nursing in one place. The therapy has been mixed, some of it seems really good, and some not as much. Though there seems to be a breakdown in communication between the therapy department and the nurses. Overall I would give them a 3 at this point.

I think there is a lack of communication between staff members and departments, which I find very annoying. The manager does not follow through. There are several things he promised that we have paid for which have not come to fruition. That is concerning to me. It is not relieving me of the things that I need to be relieved of. Any time I talk to someone, they are very sweet and apologetic, but the little issues remain. In general I am hopeful that it is going to work out. The people that live there are very friendly.

i would not recommend because they promised to much and did not deliver i did not like it at all i gave the over all a 3 star rating i gave the cleanliness a rating of a 4 star rating the care services was a 3 star rating to me and i gave a 3 star to the value

I would have to say that some of the staff at Emeritus at San Juan Capistrano is very friendly, while others are not so much. My parents really dislike the food, and I feel that the meals they get is not up to par. My mom spent some time in skilled nursing where I felt that her safety was not a priority. Communication at times has always been difficult.

They're doing alright here. The communication is not great and has some room for improvement. They do offer a lot of activities here though, as well as physical therapy. I chose them mainly because they don't allow smoking on the property... however, there is a designated area where I see the employees smoking.
