Mom was there for 4 months and I ultimately had to move her because I was expecting ALTCS to approve her and that ended up taking longer than I had anticipated. So since we're paying out of pocket for this, had to find something more affordable. Still working on ALTCS, but if/when she gets approved, I wouldn't put her back in Brookdale Christown. - the billing was never correct - not sure what them "cleaning" her room meant; I was constantly picking things up and cleaning - they never changed her bed sheets until I asked - no matter how many conversations I had with the head nurse, the staff never got "good" at helping mom change her undergarments on a daily basis - issues with showering assistance. Had to have several conversations with the head nurse about mom only wanting females to assist with showering Those were my big concerns. I had other smaller ones that aren't worth calling out. Bottom line, she won't be going back.

When we first got there the room wasn't ready, and we had to pay more for a bigger room that was available. The food isn't good, he says it's horrible. The biggest thing is, I didn't know that there is road construction going on until 2016 and the noise is really loud, all night long. It's pretty clean and the staff is friendly.

Every single time we visit we have an issue. They haven't been good about keeping our loved one in clean clothes, or making sure he is clean. I have had the caregivers lie to my face. They don't change their shirts when they eat and get food on themselves. They are nice to our loved one, no one has ever been mean or shouted, but if they don't take good care of them, well then, that is not very nice.

Disappointed in overall experience. The marketing of facility does not match reality of services. Marketing did not give full disclosure of pending sale of facility and because of this we have been having difficulties in resolving issues like no phone service or hot water in shower in room. These are just a few issues among many others that still have not been resolved since move in two months ago.

Please don't send your family here. The staff here are often annoyed, angry and not helpful. My mom moved in to independent living and they called me non stop the first weekend because she was asking too many questions (like where to get food and how to find an activity schedule). My mom's room was closer to assisted living, even though she was in independent living and the deli manager wouldn't feed her because he was confused as to which area she belonged to. I had to instacart her food so she could eat while they figured it out. When she moved in the floors were so dirty, the mop was black. I scrubbed the floors for hours and they were still dirty. the AC never worked properly, the door wouldn't lock the first two days we were there and the events were horrible. People who lived there were telling her to move if she could afford it because they were there due to not having money to pay for a nicer place. There was nothing good about this place. NOTHING>

My sister is currently at Brookdale Christown and things are not going well. We were not able to reach her and when I asked the staff to check on her they said she was fine. I found out she had been taken away by ambulance and that no one knew where she was taken to. They have just changed ownership so I am hopeful that the communication and staff issues will improve. This is an older building but they do keep it clean. I would recommend doing some extra legwork before moving a loved one into this community.

The light around the facility was very dark or gloomy. There wasn't a smile to be seen on any resident's face anywhere on the property. It was, however, very clean looking and the staff seemed to be friendly and to be doing well at taking care of the residents.

For one, the stench that I smelled was horrid. My daughter and I went there the other day and really had a hard time staying.# 2. We sat with her while she ordered her food and waited for an hour 10 mminutes. I asked some waitress if her food was ready yet, she didn't come till 15 .minutes later, and told me pretty soon. My mother was suppose to be at a Dr. appt in an hour. The banana cream pie was frozen, the chicken hard to cut, potatoes no gravy was not even luke warm

This could be a nice facility to place your loved one or a place to work at, although lacks in prompt efficient care and employee appreciation. Most of the residents need medium to high level of care and there's too many other tasks assigned for completion to each of the two caregivers and the one med tech on each day shift, practically impossible to complete. Being understaffed is definitely not gonna make it happen besides staff don't get much support from immediate supervisors (nurses) and are overloaded with and held accountable for responsibilities nurses should be completing themselves along with A.L. director. Not to mention them, being part of the gossip as well as the Executive Director. They listen, believe and hold involved staff responsible, of not proven events or accusations, with either a write up or by letting them go without opening an investigation and actually obtain prove that such event really occur. Humiliate staff walking them out the door after fired as if they were a thief. Making the ones who have served and been part of their family feel worthless feeling no regret for it which is even worst. Management sucks, they need to prioritize in what is supposed to be most important their "RESIDENTS" not "GOSSIP"

This facility has to be one of the worst senior living communities in the greater Phoenix area. Horrible staff, terrible management, and they only care about are the dollars that they can extract from the residents. My father has been treated awful by the staff and recently had to relocate to the assisted living section of the community which in my opinion is where they send people to die. My father was reluctant to move since he had his own apartment and had his dog that is his only friend and companion since none of his family lives in the state. They would not allow my father to take his beloved dog to the assisted living section and talked him into letting one of the staff members adopt his dog, which he agreed to since the staff member said that she would bring my fathers dog to visit him weekly. I came to find out just recently that the person who works at the Palazzo and took my fathers dog, lost the dog only after having custody of the dog for one month.

This reviews only pertains to the memory care area. First, the smell once you get to the memory care area is stomach churning. Second, they are understaffed and most staff there doesn’t seem to care anyway! There are probably so many falls and injuries that go unreported. This place almost killed my grandmother! The residents in this area are no longer able to remember things so they can’t explain how they have major bruising or what happened so no one is held accountable. If staff does not have patience they have no business working with these vulnerable people. Arizona needs to step it up for our elderly!

Walked out without a tour. The woman at the front desk was talking sternly and a little too aggressively with a resident who missed the shuttle. I would be so unhappy if someone spoke to my mother like that.

My family had a horrible experience with the accute care nursing facility here. They didn't seem familiar with post stroke conditions or medication-induced reactions. They also left my sister with an unsupervised student nurse and she was allowed to fall.

This place is awful. Do you notice how they won't show you the reviews unless you sign up? You might as well dump your loved one in the street as to go here. The nurses lie to the doctors and the families. They make up ways to dump your loved one if your loved one actually requires them to get up off their [Removed]and do their job. They don't care about you or your loved one, they just want to drug them so they can take your money and sit around and gossip. This place is a disgrace on America and on the human race.
