The price seemed quite reasonable for the services offered/included. We lucked out and got one of the second floor corner rooms with a nice little balcony. The staff is friendly. [name removed] says the...

Horrible place to bring your loved ones. Administrator has told residents numerous times she didn’t have time for them. She is very rude and disrespectful to family especially employees. Save your time and money because you have to pay for everything except toilet paper, paper towels, laundry, meals is the only thing they provide for the thousands you spend. Highly unreccomended. They paint a pretty picture but lack the care they instruct employees to act like they are giving during tours.

Our family was displeased with care our loved one received at Colonial Care Assisted Living. He had been there for 4 years. Below is recap of review: 1. Asked aide to place meals on bedside table, not on dining table, where resident was unable to walk over to reach. This was done some time but not always 2. Resident was not changed every two hours as originally stated. 3. Almost every day he had soiled bed sheets to be washed but they were not washed until a set time giving room a terrible urine smell. Family member had to take home and wash because of smell. 4. Fell 3 times. 5. Asked aide to change bandage on his left arm which he injured when he fell from bed – no one ever came to change bloody bandage while we were there. 6. His room frequently smelled of urine when members of family arrived to check on him because wet clothing and bed sheets were put in a clothing basket and left there until the employees washed only on certain days. 7. On two separate occasions, meds were found that had not been taken a. One was on bookcase headboard b. Another was in bed sheets on another occasion 8. Found journal where last blood pressure taken was recorded in January 2015. This was in June 2017 when journal was found on side of the apartment range. 9. When visiting one Sunday, we found the resident’s bed was totally wet with urine, as well as all his clothing. My family and I changed it all. 10. 84 year-old resident was left to sleep on bare, wood floor all night because aides said he refused to let them pick him up. We do not know how he got on floor from his wheelchair. 11. Family was unaware he had not seen a doctor at facility for some time until family made an appointment for him to see a doctor outside the facility. 12. There were four different directors in the 4 years the resident was there. But in all fairness, the present director, [name removed], is desperately trying to run the organization better than the 3 previous had done. 13. No one in the family can recommend this facility to anyone who really cares about their loved one.

I have mixed reviews about this place. My aunt lived there and recently passed away. My issues were with certain aspects of this facility. The first is the bookkeeper, she has NO clue how to balance funds. At the beginning of every month there was always a billing issue, my aunt would send me to the office to pay her rent. The bookkeeper would NEVER leave her office to speak with me, she would converse with me through the receptionist who looked completely overwhelmed at times. The last time i went to pay the rent, there was a questionable charge so i went to the front desk and the receptionist went into the bookkeepers officr and told her that I wanted to speak to her concerning the rent, I HEARD the bookkeeper say to her FIND OUT WHAT SHE WANTS IM BUSY. So the receptionist had to walk back and forth between us passing messages for about 10 mins with my financial information being broadcasted. None of the caregivers stood out. The administration is really nice, i feel like she is there because she truly loves doing what she does. She's compassionate and caring and always walking around assisting residents.

I gave this place a good review earlier and now I want to take it back. They charge you 2k a month for literally nothing. They talk up a good game and say how they do all these things...and they do little to nothing of it. In two months, they cleaned the apt once...it is suppose to happen weekly. They refused to clean the bathroom. My 70 yr old mil had to clean her own bathroom. She might as well get her own apartment. They give little to no care in assisted and can't even help an old person who weighs about 140 lbs off the floor when they have fallen without hurting themselves. Seriously? What the hell are we paying them 2k a month for? What part of assisted living do they not understand. My mil could get a regular apartment for half the price for all the "assisting" that she is getting. And as soon as the lease is up, that is exactly what we are doing. Oh and to top it off, the director told a man dying of brain cancer that he had an attitude problem and had the choice of being kicked out or sent to a psych ward because he had fallen and did't help the ONE aid who came to help him... to lift him up... He didn't help her to help him off the floor. He was dead weight. Could it be that he has no balance and was afraid to move? The director admitted he had not fought against being helped up...he just didn't help either. So he needed to be in a psych ward... are you freaking kidding me??? They seriously need better administration for the assisted living part of this place.

The Atrium quoted me a price of $3000 as a a flat rate for care for my mom being fully aware that she needed assistance will all daily needs. Then after 3 wks thy decided I needed to pay $1000 more because hey hired an overnight sitter for her without my consent or approval. They suddenly decided that the prescribed CPAP for her sleep apnea, which she has used with no issues for 3 years, required an overnight sitter. When I fought it, she was sent a discharge notice. So I complied because it was too much trouble to move her after our cross country move and new job. Then last night one if the workers at the Atrium put the CPAP mask on my mother and thee was no air flowing through it. Thankfully I checked it and they corrected the problem. I am looking for a new facility!!! I do not recommend this facility at all! Always seem short on staff for memory care unit! Another time I went and my mother was in her room throwing up and I had to go room to room to find a worker to help her. Another time a worker let her slip out of her wheelchair into the floor while the worker was holding a puppy in one hand instead of using two hands to assist my mother. Sketchy administration and poor patient care!!!
