Ark Post Acute Network

The location appeared to be an older building than others we had previously toured. I think an investment in some area is warranted. The inside looked as old as the outside. The staff was very nice and friendly but because of the appearance of the decor, it just gave a feeling of an old time nursing home.

My mother has recently made the move into this community and she is really enjoying her self for the most part. She enjoys participating in a few of the activities they have available and loves the bingo with her friends. They chef does a great job with the meals and makes sure that all of the residents have well balanced and nutritious dinners. I would recommend this place to anyone interested.

We are at day 10 of my mother in law's stay @ Colonial Care. My biggest concern is there is no communication with the direct staff caring for her. I have made numerous calls & left messages with only one call being returned. Some things don't seem to be as was told to me during the initial visit & interview of the facility. I hope this makes a turn around very soon, if not, I will be removing her from that facility,

It was a little rough at first, but the care is better now. It's definitely better than it was at the last place she lived. It's also less expensive. So we get better care for less money.

I think that they don't really have anyone in charge to make sure that things that are getting done. Everyone is very, very nice but normal things that should get done are not always done. I think they do exercises and birthday parties in terms of activities. It is an older community, and very affordable. Not as fancy, but very clean and the rooms are nice. My aunt is very happy.

Do not go there they are not worth the money everyone blames the tenant and everyone says that problem is somebody else's problem not mine on a scale of one to five I would give it a -5. It's not worth the gas. You waste going there.

we toured Lafreniere and we didn't care for it. it wasn't as open and clean as the community we chose. the other community also had better activities and larger living quarters for the residents.

I would tell people to not put your loved one there. I feel like they should have been more clear about their arrangement. The first floor was not to as advanced with memory care issues. The second level had those residents that are more effected with memory care issues. My loved one's room was very nice, and they cleaned it regularly. There were some staff that were very friendly. Then some staff that were standoffish, and they didn't give direct answers. My loved one had an experience with a resident, and the staff made excuses. They also had residents walk into their room at night, and it scared them. They didn't do an interview with my loved one to determine how my loved one was. They only went off the doctor's directions from medical records. The nurses and director would change often. The community didn't have a social director for a couple of months while my loved one was there. It could be totally better now, since my loved one is no longer there. The community is beautiful. It wasn't a good fit for my loved one.

The room was very spacious as were the closets and it had a cutr kitchen; however I felt like I was in an institution and the alarm and sprinkler system and hvac system were ugly.

When we toured the Atrium Assisted Living we met only one person who gave us the tour. As soon as I walked in I knew it was not the right place for my loved one. I felt it was depressing and not as clean as I expected.

We were not terribly impressed with The Atrium. Though the staff was warm and receptive they didn instill confidence regarding their capabilities. Also there was a strong smell of urine in the lobby reception area and the decor was dated and drab--some chairs were tattered with upholstery requiring repair. My husband noted a glass coffee table that may present a hazard to residents should they fall. Regretfully based on our visit I don’t feel this is the place for our loved one who has Alzheimer’s dementia.

40 yr building, not much outside scenery, however rooms are large, bathrooms were outdated cast iron tub would need a cut out for a walk in tub. Sitting & dinning area cozy with sunlight coming through like a natural court yard. Cost not to bad, however, only a 30 day term so price could rise every 30 days if they wanted. Friendly staff, fairly clean,central air/heat,emergency pull chord, stove/oven range and refridgerator. Room could use afresh up on paint. All & all not to bad.

Facility is old and shows its age completely. Staff was very friendly and approachable. There were almost no residents out at the time I went.

The care and the staff was mediocre The food kept getting worse and worse. The activities were limited. The only thing she liked was the bingo. The room was too small of a bedroom to accommodate what she needed. They did not clean appropriate. The bathroom was always horrible. We had to clean it ourselves every time we visit half the time the clothes were missing. Would take days to get them back when you call for assistance it would take anywhere from one hour to five hours for someone to show up hired sitters to come in at night half the time they could not get anybody to open the door when they called. No one was downstairs manning the front desk all the time she was very unhappy, and was afraid that she was gonna die before her three months lease was up and she was correct. She only lasted two months are regret it having my aunt in that place, and would not recommend it to anyone. Everyone I spoke to said that when the old director left everything went downhill and a lot of them were leaving.

Unfortunately for the amount of money that was paid to them, their care was no different than a Medicare facility. Terrible staff, not attentive at all.

My Father was there for a month tops & was rushed to the hospital for pneumonia. [name removed] immediately helped me to find another place. I would have to rate them at 1 for everything.

Overall place need new Administrators. Old enough to care about how patients are treated. Make vitamins more enjoyable, Animals on Assistance for themselves and others to enjoy. Nurse does not help enough and airs don't care if food is served cold nor does administrative. Overall it is not the Place for older adults to me. Very boring. Young administrative Does not know-how to run this

Overall not a good place. The food is terrible and there really aren't any activities.

My loved one was a resident at Lafreniere and the experience was terrible. I would not recommend this facility to others.

No memory care given at this place. All about the money. Will move your family member in even if they don’t qualify for assisted living. Lots and lots of falls and surgery due to lack of attention from aids and day nurses.
