My mother is currently a resident at The Arbors at Hauppauge. Overall, things have been good for her at this facility. The staff is attentive and quick to respond to all asks and needs of the residents. The cleanliness and friendliness are very good. The food is okay. The activities are great. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

The staff is very nice.

A friendly, cozy place which provides great care for the seniors. A lot of specialities for the medical needs of the residents are available on site and this definitely minimizes the need for family to take them to appointments. The residents have a lot of activities, field trips, and games to keep them engaged and socially involved. The Arbors in Westbury is in a very good location with proximity to excellent tertiary care hospitals.

We picked this community because, it was all inclusive. It was clean an environment. They could improve on the set-up for the residents, and how they get around. I would recommend to other families.

It was more expensive. It was slightly smaller. A parking lot would be a nice addition, to the facility.

It smells like a nursing home. They are very friendly. The assistance of the caretakers is really good. The staff is always willing to listen, and give feedback. They have activites availabe, such as Bingo five days per week. The value for the money is excellent. They need to improve on the wellness department, communication,and medication management. Overall, my loved one is very happy.

I'd rate the front desk, housekeeping, and custodial higher than 5 if I could. Mom hates the food. Also, it's a bit pricey.

The staff has been super supportive and friendly. They care about the residents and all seem to be well experienced dealing with an Alzheimer patient. I feel confident that my Dad is being well taken care of.

It's a great place. Everyone is nicer than the next! And dad seems to be doing well there. Right now we would give the experience a 4. Only because they are a little short staffed but I believe that's all of healthcare at the moment

I picked this community, because I had good experience with the staff and the proximity. They have a memory care unit, and transitions area. It was a good fit for my loved one. The communication can improve.

Make sure that there is communication between each different department. That tends to go by the wayside a little bit. One person doesn't know what the other person is doing, especially in the wellness center. But it's a good place overall.

Since my mom is in East, the memory care, I can only comment on that . The facility is nice but I feel that they need to have more activities for them and going outside to the patio needs to be done regularly. The aides are nice and gentle but maybe be more attentive to them and their needs.. overall I am happy with the care and I know my mom is safe and they always let me know if anything has changed or happen to my mom.

Our family had an in person tour and our loved one really liked this community right away, and they do have really nice common areas but the price was just significantly higher then what we were looking for

My mother has been at The Arbors at Westbury for one year. I am delighted to see her flourishing. Prior to entering the Arbors she was living by herself. Doing well however, because of the pandemic, was very isolated. Now she is surrounded by people with whom she has become friendly. Meals, no longer solitary, are a time when she eats and talks with friends. The staff is extremely nice and very caring. I feel as though I no longer have to worry about my mother being lonely or isolated.

This community had a nice tour and it was a nice facility. This community was expensive. I wrote the cost and the service that was provided and I ranked all of the communities that I was interested in. It just is personally not my way to go. I had to find a middle ground to make the best living situation for my loved one.

My mother loves to be part of something that gives her purpose. She worked for decades and in retirement needs to feel, well... NEEDED. Even during this uncertain time of social distancing, masking and pandemic awareness, the Arbors provides great opportunities for social engagement. My mother's favorite moments are spent in bible study and she speaks highly of those who seek her out to pray, lead and join discussions. The staff is KIND and always warm upon my arrival - especially G & C. One key member of my mother's original care team - R - will be missed and is a HUGE reason this review leans positive. The only criticism? a courtesy knock, arrival announcement & PAUSE, BEFORE entering would be greatly appreciated; While I realize some residents' medical issues require a 'walk-in' approach due to wheelchair or hearing issues, my mother is able-bodied & hearing is still 100%. Some staff enter WHILE knocking & should simply wait for response first.

I would recommend it. It seems to be a pretty decent place, and my loved one seems happy. The times that I've been there, it's been very clean. And there's always somebody cleaning something every time I went there. Activities are still somewhat limited due to Covid, but they are making an effort.

I thought The Arbors was a very nice place. They just didn’t have anything larger than a studio. If they had more options, it would have been better.

I would recommend you check the community out to see if it was a good fit for your loved one. They keep the community clean. The staff provides support care and they are supportive of the residents.
