Overall good experience with a few small issues but I think you would find those issue at any place ie. other people's clothes in room, missing shoes for a few days etc. We did have an issue with severe dehydration but after several visits and follow up emails it's never happened again a plan was put in place. Nail care on hand and feet could be better, they have a tough time showering her (again a common issue), I had to tell them to work harder to try to get her participate in activities and eat outside room. It's taken the entire year to get her out of the room regularly. I feel that should have happened sooner but she seems content now. She seems to like food. It smells very good. She had some issues with refusing to eat and I felt I had to really ask and remind them to put extra effort to make her eat and remind her instead of just taking the full plate away. She is eating better now. Inside they keep them busy. I would like to see them take her out of the place more and not just accept her refusal to go one time. I would like them to put in an effort to get her to take a field trip. The raised the price at the 1 year mark over [fee removed] a month so I am paying close to [fee removed] a month. She needs help with most everyday things so I have to keep that in mind. I feel the care should be 10/10 for that price and it is not.

Overall experience is pretty good. Staff is very nice, and always willing to help when my mother needs it. It's a bit pricey, but it is all inclusive, with the exception of podiatrist and hairdresser. Every day they have activities planned to encompass just about the whole day. The food is less than stellar, but when you're cooking for seniors I know there's alot that you can't put in the food (salt, pepper, etc.). Even with that though, it's not too bad. Out of all the places I saw, this was the best one overall. When you drive up to it, the grounds are nicely landscaped, and you don't feel like you're driving up to an office or hospital. All 1 level, so no worries about falling down stairs or getting stuck in an elevator. At the end of the day, my mother is very happy there, and that's what matters most. Highly recommend.

I have always said the arbors was wonderful with my mom and I would recommend.

I think The Arbors is a very good assisted living. My mom (who is never happy) complains that it takes a long time at meal times to get served - the help keeps leaving. Also she says that they cancel bingo often and there is not enough outside singers/entertainment that comes in. Staff is very friendly and very nice. My mom says that all the time(and believe me, she is never happy). Quality of care is good. My mom loves the food, just says the serving of food is slow. My mom loves getting involved in all activities, I'm sure the more they have the better off for her. Comparing the price to other facilities the arbors is priced best. I would definitely recommend The Arbors!

I think that the care is adequate but the food and activities are lacking. They serve the same meals constantly.

The one complaint we have had is with the doctor they contract with who comes in each week to see the residents. He spends little time with each resident, is very hard to get in touch with, and is not very friendly at all. On a positive note, I believe they recently switched to another doctor. Things seem to have improved a lot since then. Based on our families experience, we would definitely recommend the Arbors Islandia to anyone looking for a comforting friendly environment for their loved ones. Our parents felt comfortable from the moment they moved in. We can't say enough about the staff, and how friendly, loving and caring they are. There are activities each day and they bring in outside entertainment often for the enjoyment of all the residents. Finally, The cost is reasonable compared to other similar facilities.

Clients are never really encouraged to do anything so someone like my mom spends most of her time in her room

I'm completely satisfied with the whole experience. They had availability and a good price on the room when I needed it.

I'd say it's one of the better communities. The staff is very friendly and appear happy. They have great activities and the residents have plenty to do. I would definitely recommend the Arbors to others.

The head staff is wonderful. Most of the staff is great.There isnt enough staff for the amount of residents. If you dont stay on top of them, they wont go out of their way for ur loved one.

It was the best decision my family and I made to place our mother at The Arbors Westbury! They have been a true extended supportive and caring family to mom. The staff goes over and above to make her feel loved and cared for and that gives us as a family peace of mind that she is in the best place. She is now meeting new people, socializing more and getting involved with activities that are offered daily. Mom tells us the food is always so good and asks for seconds often. Thank you The Arbors at Westbury for all you do! You truly are the Best!

I would recommend The Arbors at Westbury to others. It has a family, home type vibe. The staff is competent and friendly. Communication with the family is really good, especially with [name removed]. I can email her and get a quick answer. The maintenance staff is helpful.

Their contact and updating of my mothers progress after she moved in could be better. Is this we're a category I would rate it 2/5. Overall I'm satisfied. There is always room for improvement but those would be minor improvements. I would recommend The Arbors for sure to other families!

My mother is currently a resident at The Arbors at Hauppauge. Overall, things have been good for her at this facility. The staff is attentive and quick to respond to all asks and needs of the residents. The cleanliness and friendliness are very good. The food is okay. The activities are great. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

The staff is very nice.

A friendly, cozy place which provides great care for the seniors. A lot of specialities for the medical needs of the residents are available on site and this definitely minimizes the need for family to take them to appointments. The residents have a lot of activities, field trips, and games to keep them engaged and socially involved. The Arbors in Westbury is in a very good location with proximity to excellent tertiary care hospitals.

We picked this community because, it was all inclusive. It was clean an environment. They could improve on the set-up for the residents, and how they get around. I would recommend to other families.
