The facility is nice. Sometimes there is no nursing staff and executive director gives out meds and she is non medical. The cleanliness, and food were the only two things done well.

American House is in transition and has recently changed over the administrate staff - there are some kinks and issues for them to work out but we have confidence and see the potential that things will get better.

My loved one often did not like the food, but he was a fussy eater, and several of the staff would bring him something special that he liked.

American House Bluewater Bay has unlimited probabilities. However, those high-hope targets are being squandered with way too much management being charged with responsibilities and job-titles that are not being delivered upon. Residents should never experience dietary rationing, limitations or inadequacies at this price point. 1.) It's expensive. The promised degree of top-shelf living is not being delivered to the residents on many levels. 2.) Way too much administrative and coordination costs stirred into the mix for the finished product being offered. 3.) Residents constantly hearing budgeting issues and personal problems does not make for a very pleasurable living arrangement. 4.) Don't let the guise of "Independent Living" win you over. Some residents here live very well and independent indeed. However, some are bedridden with the ability to privately fund caregivers until their demise. Could very well be seen as a monetarily gifted persons private end-of-life sanctuary.

The caregivers and medical staff at Anthology of Rochester Hills are outstanding. The staff is extremely kind to my loved one and all of the residents and their family. Staff members are always willing to help. The meals at Anthology are okay, for those that are not on a special diet. Their availability of snack items vary. The salon at Anthology doesn't seem to be very efficient. The activities are as good as could be expected, taking into consideration such a wide range of interests among each of the residents. I think the caregiving and kindness of the staff at Anthology of Rochester Hills is enough to warrant me not shopping elsewhere.

COMMUNICATION. And, yes, that really needed to be in all caps.. I would suggest improvement on communication with resident families as well as internally among staff.

I toured this community. Cleanliness wasn't as good as some of the others we toured and there was a noticeable odor. The tour itself was good.

The place would be much better if you had eyesight. For a blind person, it's not the place you want to be. They come once a week to do light cleaning, which isn't' enough for residents with visual impartment. Asking the staff questions is like chasing your tail trying to get answers. Some are good, and some really don't care. Meals are terrible and do not live up to what they told us to expect. And activities are not inclusive.

The people are great, but the food is worse than institutional food. It is not chef prepared by any stretch of the imagination.

I was not impressed with our tour experience at American House Murfreesboro. They were going through renovations while we were touring and the carpet had a very strong smell of urine.

We did not see many residents. It seemed to be a quiet, and low-key environment. It seemed nice.

My first impressions with [name removed] the tour guide was wonderful. We moved my loved one into the community, and haven't been impressed with the service. I'm still waiting on the finance department to reply to my multiple requests via email, phone and still haven't received responses. I sent a couple emails and made a call to speak to the Director of Memory Care about care concerns with my loved one. The Director has only been speaking to another family member. The family is very disappointed and upset about the care the our loved is receiving. They need to have better communication with the community staff and the family.

The meals are definitely insufficient and not healthy, especially for senior citizens. They are very low quality. However, everything else seems to be pretty well done. The apartment was very nice and well maintained. And the staff were very accommodating and pleasant.

We really liked the community itself, it was very clean and the staff were friendly. We cannot speak to the dining service - our loved ones meals were delivered to the room but the meals were good. The staff that were there again were friendly but they were understaffed and unfortunately just wasn't able to meet the expectations we had. Also our loved one was wrongly assessed so we had to do a lot of things for her while she was there

Our family had an in person tour and it was a nice community but the tour guide just seem unprepared and really did not have anything ready for us when we arrived

It was very clean and beautiful. It was much more expensive, and was a little more corporate, opposed to down-to-earth.

Most of the staff are very friendly, and they definitely take good care of my mother and prioritize her care They are currently in a transition period after a change in ownership to American House. They are losing staff and haven't been able to hire new ones, although they are actively interviewing. Right now they don't have a main chef or activities director. The marketing person is new. I've voiced some of my concerns recently, and time will tell if they will implement changes. They do hold a monthly community meeting where residents and family members can voice their needs and concerns, and also what's going well. With the new ownership will come some positive changes - for instance they have announced they will be putting in new carpeting and a new roof. But that will be a lengthy process until completion.

For the most part, my loved one is comfortable and content.

Tour was overall very decent, but cost wise we weren't able to make it work.

The staff can be very delayed sometimes when you pull the emergency cord - for us it was 2 hours at sometimes. They are understaffed on the weekends as well and they said that that was the reason for their response times.
