Town and Country is a hot mess and I am becoming sorry that I chose it for my mom. Inconsistency with communication concerning services that were promised prior to move in then changed once Mom moved in. It seems to depend on who you talk to at any given moment. Definitely a lack of communication between administration, health services, sales, and transportation as these people seem to float between multiple facilities. The friendliness and sense of caring that was exhibited prior to moving in disappeared shortly after Mom moved in. Seems more like a warehouse than a home.

Originally they were good . However, they moved due to lower standards and higher costs. It's not worth it.

Check it out carefully before committing to transferring there. There are many hidden costs that we are not told about at upon enrolling The food was not that impressive. The activity was practically none. There’s no encouragement. They are to mingle with the other people that are there. All you do is walk the halls by yourself my cousin who was there was not impressed at all, and refused to stay longer than one month.

Housekeepers have to be asked to vacuum and clean the bathroom or they don't do it. Friendly staff. Not impressed with the care services, there appears to be no supervision checking to see how staff actually does their jobs. The dining is an exercise in patience, staff is very, very slow in getting meals out. I have eaten lunch several times and found that. Residents often have to wait 10 or 15 minutes before being served the first course. Meals often take over 1 hour because staff is so slow delivering food. I met with the manager and food service director this week to discuss this problem. Residents tell me they met with management about the problem once already but it has NOT improved. Daily reminders of what is happening in regards to the activities would be helpful. Very expensive for the quality of what we have experienced.

The cleanliness and friendliness of the staff is phenomenal. Food selection was not as promised and rarely ever matched what was on the published menu. They said their policy was to "lay eyes" on dad every 2 hours every day, but that did not happen with any regularity. He often missed meals or events because he was asleep in his room and no one came to remind him. I don't believe it's because they didn't care, they love him, but they don't seem to have enough staff consistently to cover the events and procedures promised. Scheduled events are often cancelled or cut short due to staffing issues. Weekend events never happen. We have spent several hours there on weekend days and not a staff member in sight, no activities that are listed on the calendar, no one at the desk or office. They have a beautiful chapel and we were told there were several different types of services to choose from (catholic, Baptist, Methodist, etc) but when we went to look for them the nurse on duty said they don't do those anymore. Just didn't live up to our expectations from what we were told when moving dad in.

Overall...The grounds and home is nice but my parents have had several issues with the villa. The experience would have been better without the high increase in rent, the difficulties with a parking space and a $50 cost to pay rent with a check. The free WIFI is troublesome and to date they have not had WIFI for 3 weeks. One of the amenities was to have a weekly housekeeper. They stop coming and the few times they did, the service was subpar. The showers needed extreme cleaning and vents were extremely dusty. My mom ended up cleaning the showers and some of the vents. When mom complained someone came and cleaned some if the vents. They have an ant infestation. Several attempts were made but no success in eliminating the problem. Overall staff is friendly but not successful in effectively solving my parents issues. They are in independent villa. However, when their pull string was activated help came quickly. We appreciated that and was impressed by their haste. They never dined. They did not participate in activities. They do not feel the cost v value is not there. Living in the independent villa and paying nearly $[removed] and having all the aforementioned issues, it definitely is not worth it. To this end, they are currently actively looking to move asap.

They really let us down They were supposed to start physical therapy and didn't start until 3 days before [name removed] came home The rooms we're smaller than the bathroom I paid that bill but I'm going to put it on Facebook so that other families won't have to go through this.

My loved one was previously a resident at American House Hendersonville and the overall experience was not great. The food was horrible. Changes needed to be made and they were made aware of that by several different families. Nothing was ever done, even when several of us reached out to Corporate. There were a few good staff, including the Activities Director who was a wonderful and caring person.

I would recommend American House Cedarlake. We had an issue with the director, but they are making changes to improve the experience. The move in process was easy and the staff, less the director and assistant director, was very kind. The director has been removed, so hopefully other families will have a more positive experience.

If your family member can't communicate to you what is going on and needs excessive assistance, this is NOT the place. The caregivers and housekeeping were wonderful and caring. They continuously checked on us during the last week of her life (she ended up on hospice care mere months after moving there) while management never stepped in the room. The hospice worker was mortified that we were allowed in the room the morning that she passed before they even cleaned up a little and showed her respect.

My brother is currently staying there and there seems to be a lack of communication with him. At one point the fire alarm went off. He was on the third floor in a wheelchair and no one ever even came to check up on him. Luckily there was no fire. The activities are mostly my brother's fault. He tends to stick to himself. He says that there are times that they change the menu.

My story: moved in refrigerator did not work, no place for my insulin. I am diabetic. It took 3 days to get a new refrigerator. The floor was to be replaced, it was not. Housekeeping was to come every day, did not come for a week. Food was same thing from week to week. Changes made a lot from what was on the menu. Never could just get a salad. Based on the above, I would never recommend this place.

Essentially, if you are a senior with no cognitive or physical limitations it is fine. They absolutely should not be taking care of adults with cognitive issues or physical limitations - they are not trained for that at all. If your loved one needs "memory care" or any degree of physical help, just go to a state licensed nursing home.

Nice resort but people are uncooperative. Horrible experience, gave them [removed] dollars, my father lasted 3 days there before he got sick again and passed 5 days later. Was promised a partial refund, 2 months later still waiting and no response from Mount prospect senior living.

My loved one was previously a resident at American House Lebanon and overall we had a poor experience at this facility. The people that run the facility will promise everything but forget about what you asked for. The everyday workers were great. I complained, for three weeks, about my loved one's TV not being hooked up and it never was. There are too many things to mention here BUT it didn't help asking and nothing was ever done. I would not recommend American House Lebanon at all.

I had my mom at American House in Jenison in their memory care building(s) for over 4 years. Over the past year, corporate vice presidents have made decisions that are not safe or in the best interests of the residents, especially for those in memory care. The decisions have involved reducing staffing due to reduced number of residents in each building. Recently, a mandate was given that there was to be only 1 med tech and 1 aide per shift in each building (assisted and memory care). This is not safe when many residents in memory care require 2 person assists. At those times, there is no other staff member to monitor the other residents for potential falls, exit seeking behaviors and other issues that can accompany memory care like sun downing emotions. After this edict, a serious incident occurred. The locaI care givers were good and caring, but I moved my mom to another facility and can't recommend AH to anyone at this time.

So far I am somewhat disappointed. The activities are mundane and very repetitive which is why we gave it an overall 1 out of 5, there is not much offered. I expected more activities to be available.

I felt she was not receiving enough attention and had spoken with the staff about moving her to a higher level of care. My loved one was accepted at American House as a Level 2 resident but really needed more care. She was brought here on a Friday and the following Tuesday she was still in the same clothes without having had a bath.

I personally would never let anyone that I love go there again. In the beginning, I really liked it. The Director [name removed] was amazing. She ran a tight ship. Everyone seemed to love her. All of the workers got along together. And it seemed to be great. But not too long after my grandfather moved in there, I think they were bought out. In that 13 months there was only two people still employed that was there from the beginning. I know all medical staff has a high turnover rate, but they all couldn't stand the Director. And the quality of care was ridiculous. All the ladies seemed very nice, but no one ever took care of my grandfather, until we got hospice in there. He kept falling and they wouldn't call me, no one would tell us. They raised the rates for care, but nothing was done differently. No one helped him change clothes or help him in any way. I'm actually going to be sending a complaint to some people, and I will loop you in on it when I get it done. My grandfather died on [date removed]. He would've been 100 years old on [date removed]. And he should've made that, nothing was wrong with him. But someone let him get very badly injured. Yet "no one knows how it happened". The funeral home owners actually asked if we wanted to press charges after they saw him. I will tell you more if you'd like. You need to know about them before you ever suggest people go there again. At least until the new director gets fired or something.

We picked this community, because it was one set price, and it was new/clean and I was naive. I would tell a friend to keep looking. They can improve, by hiring more qualified staff and pay them more. I dont recommend it.
