The community is very friendly and staff were very helpful with the moving in progress. The building in which we looked at and toured were not anything like the building my dad moved into. It's more run down and dated and not kept as clean as the building toured. Same with the dining experience. They change the dining times to fit what's best for staff and there has been a few times my dad's missed meals because of it. Also, one of the main reasons I moved my dad was the care team was suppose to have experience with the type of care my father needs and most of the staff don't.

My 69-year-old sister is suffering from a rather sudden-onset mental illness that we thought might be dementia, so we moved her into American House. She lasted one night. We got a call the next morning saying she was threatening self-harm and needed to go to the ER. She was hospitalized for 2 weeks in a psych unit and we realized that assisted living wasn’t right for her. She does not have dementia. So she’s staying with me and getting outpatient care.

It's been a struggle to say the least. A LOT they can do better or at least do what they "sell" you on. I'm going to give them a 3 My Mom does really like it and the daily employees are wonderful. Management and healthcare needs to work better on communication.

Beautiful building with great facilities. Residents are treated like adults and encouraged to interact with each other. Nursing staff is mediocre at best and the business office is not responsive to requests for documentation.

Continuity between the old & new administration was tangled; and updated contact information was irregular. However, the person in charge of the memory care on the weekend day shift was highly effective. The memory care was an incredible respite for recovery from Wernicke's Encephalopathy, especially because it was an alcohol free building.

The staff are wonderful and took good care of my parents for the few months they were there. The food needs to get better, though. It's pretty bad and something my parents did not like about the facility. However, we would recommend this community to other families based on the experience

1- If In-house physician and pharmacy are in- network with resident insurance. 2-On average how long have the staff been employed with the facility? Resident- to-caregiver ratio? 3-Yearly reviews be posted on the website. 4-Backup plan should facility become inoperable. (i.e. broken water pipe ) 5- If an annual rate increase and the average amount? 6- Designated complaint process?

The CNA turnover rate is concerning. The CNAs who stay are kind and thoughtful. They are obviously not paid enough. There is inconsistent nursing staff on the memory care floor.

My loved one is the resident so I am getting the information from her but she says that ever since the elevator was down for 3 to 4 weeks the food has been terrible. She said she thinks they just heat up frozen food from Gordon's Food Service. Also, there doesn't seem to be many activities and the residents, including her, spent most of the time in their rooms alone. The staff and residents seem very friendly towards her though. The management at American House needs to do a better job with food quality and have more healthy choices.

Definitely taking in too many residents with dementia and others that NEED assisted living!!! This is independent living!! Food choices downhill, staff not dependable. Too many days without staff, especially weekends. Cost wen up SIGNIFICANTLY after 6 months!

The staff are all quite friendly. The kitchen seems understaffed. Yes, I would recommend the community to other families based on the experience so far.

Everything seemed ok at first. Mom was there 3 months. Staff was friendly. Mom was on hospice. There were a couple times she didn't get meals. Totally unacceptable. Food quality so so. Seldom received her newspaper daily, which for someone her age was very important. Mom passed away last week. It was a holiday weekend and the staff that were working were kind and helpful. All of us are out of state. When we asked a time frame for getting her things we were bluntly told by admin we had until Saturday or get charged and on us. Next day it was what can we do. Sorry but my brother and sister worked their tails off to get it done. While the nurses and aides were good I have some regrets placing my mom here. It all seems trivial but my mom was dying. Good food everyday and her paper was important her and us. Multiple calls were made regarding issues multiple times.

The administrative staff is very helpful and friendly. My step father-in-law's room and laundry were often found dirty. They would leave him without changing a diaper for longer than acceptable. We would not return there for those reasons

Overall experience - what was said took a number of weeks to deliver. Quality of care - first few months were really rocky, what was promised after a number of meetings took a long time to deliver- seems to be staff shortages. Food- delays in delivering and some days great, other days food is not good. Value for money ok, hard to say with limitations in staff care

Beach house was very clean and it was well organized. The biggest gripe I have with them is that they were not patient enough with my wife. She had a bad day and they Baker Acted her, then they said she would be taken to a local hospital for treatment and the nearest hospital they were able to place her was in Ft Myers. Another issue I had with them was that water leaked in her room one night and we had to move her to another room, very inconvenient. They would not credit us any funds for this problem, not acceptable.

The staff at timberbrook are good with visitors. The activities director is also good. Attention to the actual residents is poor. They are not effective at maintaining hygiene. Also they should not permit access to the phone during the night hours.

We have had a rough couple of months with getting correct medication for my Dad. They also do not do what they say as far as housekeeping. Parents seem to enjoy the few activities they have attended. Nice to know they are safe.

You have to realize that my husband was admitted when they turned the business over to another company. I think they were in a state of flux. They got rid of the customer interface person. No longer needed someone to advocate for the residents family. Only 2 washers and dryers on the memory floor. I was talking laundry home to do it myself after he slept on a mattress with no sheets or blanket. Our LTC insurance sent them 17 faxes and too many to count phone calls to have paperwork filled out to start their payment to me. I wound up calling the corporate office to complain. Last but not least. I wish someone told me how bad he was doing sooner and to call in hospice. He was only on hospice for 1 week. Last but not least, the day my husband died they called me saying he wasn't doing well and to come there quickly. They let me walk into his room by myself. They knew he had passed. They could have met me at the door to help with the shock. After he passed, not a phone call or sympathy card. They showed no compassion. hopefully things have changed once they got the new company and their policies up and running.

Understaffed in many areas. Very expensive. Poor cleaning of rooms and bed linens. Poor meeting needs of showering for patients with dementia. Poor organization due to changes with staff. Poor attention to detail and patients needs.

We loved American House when we toured. A new Memory Care Director was hired ... and we were not happy. Dad brought her home at Thanksgiving 2 years ago and said he wouldn't take her back there.
