American House

I wouldn't say I would or would not recommend Elmcroft, but I think they are short staffed. At night time, they have about 20 something residents and 2 nurses so it is hard for them to keep up with checking on them. I took a pitcher for later and the director told me they could not fill it. I think it is time for my loved one to come home, she has made improvements since her stay there, but it has not been the best fit.

We place our mom at Elmcroft, the facility is very clean and friendly. I guess my most disturbing part of her staying there is that there is a lack of communication. They seem to be short staffed all the time. Mother needs her sugar checked before her meals and they seem to always be forgetting or rushing up saying "don't eat yet, I need to check your sugar". I do not feel this is a place if you need more care. It is really more for independant living with very little assistance. There is not a lot of variety in food. Seems to be the same. For the amount of money you pay, there should be a bigger variety.

I am pleased with everything this place has done for my mother and I appreciate the staff very much. They have gone above and beyond to help her get comfortable in her living environment. Overall we have no complaints and would defiantly recommend this place to anyone.

[Removed] was gracious in showing us the available amenities and services. The environment was pleasant, but some of the areas used for gatherings were confining. The fees are more that the previous American House we visited. We are beginning to think that maybe we are not ready for this type of environment. We would be paying for services and amenities that we would not use.

I am happy living here. I am a part of a great family here. We all take of each other with help of the staff.

We tried this community for the care for our mom. The expense was a little higher than what we were looking for. The staff was friendly and they did answer the questions that we had. The community. was clean and maintained. We would recommend this community for the care and families might want to make sure that is something within what they can afford

I like the care here for my mom. The staff is outstanding and caring. We like to see that the community is clean and taken care of.The meals are very good. This is a good location for the family to visit. We do recommend the care of this community and the value of a loved one.

My mother is doing quite well here at this community. I'am comfortable with her move to this community, it is a nice place. The staff is great, and they have been good to work with. The meals are decent, they do serve well balanced meals overall. Everything has worked out well, and I'am satisfied. It is a community I would recommend.

They were a suitable provider to give care that a family needs. As we toured the community I could tell the residents were happy and well cared for. We were invited to stay for lunch but passed the opportunity. In the end this was not in a good location and more far from us.

Overall, I was happy with the facility. Residents seemed friendly and happy. It was clean. The apts I went to were very neat and clean. My only staff contact was with the manager; she was very friendly, seemed to be a very caring person. Pretty costly; I could no compare prices with other facilities as I had no gone to other facilities. Lunch was good. the manager served my lunch. I did not go into any of the activities so cannot make a judgement in that area.

My parents are doing very well since their move to the American House Jenison. I like the knowing that they are safe and comfortable. I wish they had more activities, my mother has been trying to join but they always say they're full. I wish they would let her known because she would love to join. Also, they have been struggling with their television and phone service.

Nice home like facility. Residents were in dining area & seemed cheerfully enjoying the meal. All areas were neat & clean.

This looked like a nice community when I visited. This community seemed to be aimed more for residents that needed more nursing and medical care. The knowledgeable staff did let us know that mom did not need this level of care. This community is a little more expensive due to the level of care given.

My mother is being cared for well here at this community. I'am comfortable with her move to this community. She is safe, and receiving good care. They have a great staff at this community. They have been very attentive, and helpful. There activities offered for the residents. She is pleased with the meals. This community has worked out well for my family, and I would recommend it.

I am impressed with the memory care area of this community. They are taking good care of mom and are working well with hospice. The community is clean. Someone I know had a loved one living here previously and they recommended this community. The community is close to family and friends. I feel we made the right decision in choosing this community.

My 88 year old Aunt loved this facility and [Removed]. She found everyone she encountered welcoming and loved the grounds/lake. The studio she looked at is large and has a complete kitchen with lots of closet and cabinet storage. She loves classical music and was thrilled to hear a string quartet comes to play on occasion. As a retired librarian found the library more than suitable- she stated, "I could live here and think I will be happy"!
