American House

They're friendly enough, and it's a pretty good place. I think my loved one's apartment is really nice. The food isn't the best in the world, but it's not bad.

This place well run. Everyone is pleasant and helpful.

We were not very impressed by our tour, it was not suitable.

My wife and I were one of the early tenants at AH. I think we were the fourth family to sign up. Before we moved in I was very worried of my wife's health. Since moving in, my wife is a new woman. She takes our dog for a walk every morning, she does not have to do any cooking witch was a dread before and has weekly maid service. We get professional work out training and most of all, all the tenants are very friendly and helpful. The one reason I did not give AH five stars is the food which management is constantly working to improve & the food service. These are two problems that is not their fault due to the covid situation. As for the value for cost, I think AH could be more flexible with their meal plans. I personally do not like getting up so early for breakfast. They could allow Lunch instead.

Overall, I love living at American House. The facility had only been open a few months when my husband and I moved in. The decor in the common areas is cheerful and inviting. Our 2 bedroom apartment was sparkling clean and our kitchen, though small, since two meals a day are provided, had all the necessary appliances. Whomever had the job of designing the apartments had a lapse of attention to detail as we had neither a linen closet nor any shelves or drawers in the bathrooms. Here is where American House shines. A couple of weeks after raising the issue to our drawless bathroom, a small but adequate shelf unit was provided for each bathroom. I have found that management does listen to the wishes and needs of residents. When the food was less than satisfactory, a new chef was hired. A resident committee was established to communicate directly with the chef. The two best things about American House are the staff and the people who live there. They are the best.

This is a very nice place. Some of the staff are a lot better than others. They have a lot of activities for the residents, like happy hour three days a week, exercise classes and things like that for the residents to do.

This community was nice it was just not what we were really looking for at the time.

A lot of the people in the community were a lot older. Other than that the food is wonderful the community is wonderful and the personnel is wonderful . We are just the youngest here and thought there would be more younger people.

They seem to have a lot of activities for the residents in the community. You should come do a tour and decide for yourself. If you are on this road and need to come to a decision this is a good place to check out.

This community was cheaper and it was a virtual tour but for us it just was the distance and we wanted our loved one closer. They just were not a good fit for my loved one, I was looking for something that was majority memory care. Very good tour and the contact was very nice. This was just a tough decision and we went a different route.

The upper management staff were very friendly. The caregivers could use a little improvement. The ratio of nurses to residents is a little high. This is a lovely community is the sense of the way it looks. They had lots of activates to offer the residents.

We are taking into consideration that these communities are struggling with keeping their staff members. Their efforts are admirable, but the lack of staff within the care team and even in the kitchen is really effecting the quality of services given to these residents.

We had a very good tour with The Palms. All of the staff who showed us around were great. It just came down to the fact that they did not have the type of room that she was wanting.

We had a good tour at Elmcroft of Hamilton Place. I thought the facility was nice. It was just a little too pricey. It was very similar to a different Elmcroft we toured nearby.

This is a very nice community and I would recommend it. It is really clean also.

Our loved one was only there for about a month but we did think the American House Westland was a nice community.
