Make sure you understand everything you are responsible to pay. I had a misunderstanding about personal briefs such as “Depends”. I thought they supplied for the cost of the room and board. They also had an almost total turnover of the Admin. Staff the second month. They could have a little better communication with the residents’ family. The staff is very friendly and tries to make you feel at home.

What we like the most about Kingston Bay Senior Living is that the staff was friendly and there were lots of activities. Food could always use some new ideas and new dishes.

In the year and a half my mom has been there, there have been 2 directors and going on their 3rd nurse. I would like to see more activities after regular hours and on weekends. It is very expensive.

In the beginning everything is great. Care givers are attentive. My mom has been there a month and a half and 2 caregivers that I know of, have quit. From the day mom moved in there has been inadequacies with her room and bathroom. No closet doors, toilet paper holder, vanity light not working and window blind broken. Still at this time the blind is broken and no closet doors. Her clothes and shoes are missing. Even though they are supposedly washed separately. All are labeled with her room number. I have visited many times and the toilet seat has poop on it. I have sanitary wipes stashed so I can wipe the restroom down when I visit. I was informed there is not a house keeper assigned to memory care. Only called when needed. The care givers are expected to help clean but are short staff and cleaning supplies. So very disappointed:(

They have Respite Care, which was my need, but apparently not all the employees have been trained to know what that is. I was there for 11 days and it was adequate for my needs.

Staff is very nice and caring for the residents. We were able to move Dad in quickly after finding out that [community removed] would not let him back in with his dementia and broken ribs. Country House was great to work with and treated Dad well.

The place was bright and airy had no smell to it like a couple of other places we saw. The activities are daily, at least four different things she can pick and choose to do.

I think the whole staff has changed since[date removed]. Ensure you get the proper access to the Memory Care section.

The front desk, care givers, activities and Med tech staff are very caring, friendly and professional. The facility is beautiful.

The Kensington has a homey appearance and the staff are very friendly and caring. The nursing staff are aware of any changes in the clients health . They make sure the clients get the health care needed. They have great activities for everyone and the place is decorated very nice. If you need a place for your love one to get care I’d recommend the Kennsington

Overall experience was 4. I would give 5's to Cleanliness, friendliness, food, Administrative staff and activities. Quality of care was good overall (4 rating) but too often had to wait quite a while or track down a caregiver to help to come help at times. The facility was very nice, but pretty costly and would rate that a 3 based on care received. The facility is very nice and the staff was always very welcoming. I would advise others to make sure on same page with staff at facility regarding care expectations. They took good care of my loved one, but I would have liked them to check on him alittle more often, especially as he had overactive bladder.

My mom liked their food better and I liked the proximity to my job. I think I would recommend, I do wish they had more exciting activities but understand each facility is different and working within their budgets and in the interests of their residents.

My mother needed respite care for about two weeks. [name removed] was very helpful and answered all my questions during a tour. We were able to get her situated and settled in a very short time with the facility providing transportation from hospital to Sage and also retrieving her belongings from her home. The facility has a great selection of activities though because of my mother's disability, she was not able to partake. Staff is very friendly. At the end of her two-week stay, there was confusion and difficulty between Sage and the hospital case worker in getting the appropriate reports from doctors for her release to go home. The process is broken. And communication with Sage became sparse. is it the hospital or Sage, I don't know. One suggestion - effort needs to be given to new clients on the parking situation on the street and how to access the underground garage easily.

My experience with community has been mostly positive. I picked them because it was near my home, good because I don't drive. I found the layout of the building to be more comfortable--but that was very personal to me. I liked another one all except for the low ceilings. Two places had too much remodeling going on.

The food has gone down as I hear corporate is making out the menu. Management lets it go in one ear and out the other. The aids are working hard to keep up

Okay. Staff is helpful. Helps me out. I'm paralyized from the waist down. Food is not good though. Have to order off a limited side menu to replace what is served as a regular meal. Place is kept clean. Staff is friendly.

We choose Astoria because it is in Oakdale, near friends. The staff was always friendly and helpful. They listened and made our friend comfortable. The med-techs were especially caring to the our friend and to us. I could not have chosen a better place for our friend to spend the rest of her life.

Generally things are going well. The piece of mind I have is tremendous. They could use a full time driver to take residents to appointments and a wider variety of activities. It is expensive but not as much as other facilities we toured. My mom does not need any assistance currently, but when she does, it will be costly. It was not an easy transition for her, but they were very supportive and caring. It's also a beautiful facility.

The staff at Holland Farms have been friendly, helpful, and caring. Common spaces are clean, though Independent Housekeeping needs improvement. My father is safe and happy here- and that makes his family happy as well!

My overall best and positive experience has been with "A Place for Mom". Simply the professionalism and efficiency to help things go smoothly. Kingston Bay was a very good experience for the most part. Leah and Mariah were caring and eager to work with you. But I have discovered that the nursing staff has failed to meet expectations. I felt that he was not on top of my mom's health needs. That was disconcerting at times. Also felt that some things fell through the cracks regarding physical therapy. Connection with doctors and nurse seemed vague. An unprofessional staff decision was made to block a family member from seeing my mom. All that to say is that my mom has been a hand full and made it quite stressful for everyone.
