My mom has lived in this community for almost a year. We couldn’t have picked a better place. Management and staff are great and we know she is safe and well taken care of. It gives us great place of mind.

We chose Lucas Place based on recommendations from friends and acquaintances, and so far, it has been a really positive experience for my parents in law. The staff has been so helpful in getting both of my parents settled in to the community. They are very caring, they’re great at keeping us updated on things, and they really are just a godsend to us. Every time I’ve been there during a mealtime, the food always looks good and fresh. They follow a universal diet there, so they serve foods that are suitable for anyone on any type of diet. They also have a full schedule of activities there as well with at least one or two things happening each day. I also appreciate how clean the community is. I’ve never seen a thing out of place when I’ve been there. I would absolutely recommend Lucas Place to others. They are fantastic.

The service is good here, very friendly,very helpful. They are very accommodating The caregivers go above and beyond to help.They keep it clean. The management is very professional. It is nicely landscaped. They have 3 different themed courtyards we enjoy. I would recommend this community. Which I did and my mother and mother-in-law stay here and its wonderful

The staff that works there actually cares about the residents. They like to bend over backwards to accommodate them. Everyone is easy to communicate with and very knowledgeable with their practice. The staff and the residents are very friendly and welcoming. The property is very clean. They take out laundry and trash once a week. They give them assigned days for laundry so everyone’s laundry is not done at the same time. They know what days their laundry is going to be done each week which I think is important because it alleviates the effect of change. The food options for dinner are really good and the lunches are okay, they usually serve sandwiches. Initially my client wanted to be in Port Arthur, unfortunately due to the hurricane and flood they were closed. So we picked Lucas Place because it was a sister company and if he decided that he wanted to relocate back to Port Arthur then he could. For the money that we are paying, yes it is a lot, but for the fact that he can’t live by himself and he is getting the care that he needs it has worked out well for us. I would recommend Lucas place.

We had my friend in here for 3 weeks for respite care. And they were wonderful and the caregivers were friendly and helpful. He said the food was good and plenty of it. He had someone come in and help with his meds and food to help him. He enjoyed doing the activities there he was an ex preacher so he even talked at devotional time. I would recommend this highly.

We toured this community and we both loved it. The grounds were beautiful all the people looked happy. They had a resident council which is great. It was well managed and they answered all my questions. They had happy hour with a bar which we thought was awesome! They did lots for the family's like barbecues, Easter egg hunts and other fun stuff. Unfortunately it wasn't in our budget and had to choose another community.

I'm glad we found this community for my loved one the price range was right for him. It's actually saving his life, he's eating again and making friends. The staff here are so helpful they get everyone up and dressed they really care here. The food here is amazing smells like a Luby's when you walk in. There are lots of activities he can join in on. They have beautiful grounds with a gazebo. They have great transportation options here they take him to his doctor's appointments and to the store its great. I would recommend this community to my friend and family.

We visit fairly often. It's always clean. They decorate for holidays, have activities and try to provide as safe an environment as possible without taking away personal liberties of the residents. Most of all, the staff goes above and beyond in being kind to the residents and visitors. We recommend the Wheeler Place.

I previously had my father in a different home but needed something closer to me so I could check up on him from time to time. I didn’t tour any other places before looking at this one and when I did tour this facility, I knew it was the right place. Everyone there is so nice, they seem like they really want to help and make sure that things are taken care of properly. The staff is knowledgeable about what they’re doing and they’re always willing to answer any questions that I have. The residents are happy and friendly and easy to talk with. I don’t know much about what food they serve here but I know that my dad hasn’t complained yet. Everything looks clean all the time, they take out the trash regularly and do the residents’ laundry. My dad really likes it here. He likes being able to play dominoes and talk with the other residents. All in all, regardless of the price, you get what you pay for and luckily my dad and I are getting great care and service. I would definitely recommend this home.

I toured the facility to find a place for my Dad to live. Bluebonnet would have been my choice, but in the end my sister and I felt that it would be better for him to in Columbus Ohio with her, then down in Texas,. Bluebonnet was very clean and bright. Liz Brannen the director was extremely welcoming and helpful. Also the social worker Carol was of great assistance.

The move has been very nice for my mom and she is doing good. The community is clean. The lady is really nice. Everything is taken care of and I have no complaints. I appreciate A Place For Mom's help. We were in a bind and we needed to find a place real quick. Our advisor hit the nail on what we needed for my mom.

This is an outstanding community for care. The community is always clean. The menu is very good and my dad does like the nice variety. They do offer activities for the residents to participate with the others. They have activities away from the community and we like that they take him shopping and the community make you feel at home. We would recommend the excellent care for a loved one. I like knowing that my father feels at home here.

I like the care here for my mom. The staff is always nice and they make sure that she is cared for. The community is the clean and nice environment for her. They offer her good and healthy meals. We like knowing that she is happy with the activities that are offered. We do recommend the care and the value of this community to others.

I toured this community for my mom. She wanted a large size apartment from moving out of a large home. She likes to have a lot of open space. We like knowing that the community was clean, but we wanted somewhere close to my home. We would recommend others fo this community for options of a nice place to live.

The activities director is good and they always have activities for the residents to enjoy. The staff are encouraging. The food is healthy, good and they offer good portions. There is good communication between staff members. They are great at keeping the family updated with how mom is doing. They ask for suggestions and ideas to help mom feel comfortable. The entire staff work hard at getting to know each resident.

My grandma is enjoying some of the activities offered, including the exercise class, movies and trips out. The food is good and the maintenance does a good job of keeping up the building. They have physical therapy on site with a well equipped room. They offer a lot of different outdoor options. The staff are helpful and encouraging. This community was more affordable and I would recommend it.

Awesome staff for the most part. Awesome director ever! However, I am very upset that I cannot plant a tree and place a plaque in memory of my mother in law who lived there almost 10 years. It seems as though there is more concern about sprinkler systems than about someone who lived there for almost a decade. Only if [removed] is director.

We found Chisholm Place over two years ago for my Dad. I can't say enough good things about this facility and the staff. They've been a God send for Dad and his family. Rooms are nice, food is very good, staff is qualified, knowledgeable and caring. Dad has recently had to move on to a higher level of care but we will miss Chisholm Place and the entire staff.

I was impressed. The executive director took me on my tour. Answered all my questions and educated me on assisted living and veteran programs that I had no idea where available. Great job! Left with a feeling of accomplishment. Rating: Great!

Surprised by the level of personal attention to my mother. The staff has gone to great lengths to accommodate her desires.
