This was the worst experience of mine & my mother's life! In the 2 short months I kept her there, the staff allowed her carpet to be flooded twice by a memory care resident's stopped up toilet, the fire marshal discovered the fire damper in her room was broken, the outdoor heating unit went out in the winter, & the staff left my mother in a cold room an entire day until I arrived the next day & asked to be released from the lease without penalty, and I removed her that day. (The heat was out 3 days!) They weren't doing activities except singing, and nail painting until I complained to the VP of Operations, & although the menu would list tasty lunch & dinner dishes, more than half of the time the actual meals mainly consisted of pasta & canned or frozen processed foods. The snacks were mainly vendor-machine type packaged crackers or cookies. I had to have the Virginia Dept. of Social Services get involved regarding the Dietary/menu issues, because the Kitchen Manager/Head cook said the VP of Operations was only giving her $1,000/week to feed 22 residents & purchase gloves & kitchen supplies!!! My question is where is the money actually going??? Because the company had a revenue in 2018, of about $7million dollars! The male cook treated my mother disrespectfully, and the Resident Care Coordinator even said he was rude, when I spoke to him twice & he ignored me to my face. Other staff members gossiped, & had their boyfriends or their kids hanging around the facility, while they were supposed to be working. Most staff members were young, immature, and unprofessional, taking smoke breaks while my mother & I were locked in the foyer about 10 minutes ringing the doorbell on 2 occasions. Only a few staff members actually put their cell phones down long enough to work or answer questions. This was the worst decision I've ever made, so please read & BELIEVE the negative reviews on google about all 4 Virginia locations, because they are run by the same VP of Operations & Director of Operations who are best friends. They'll give you their cell phone number & say feel free to contact us with any problems, but then when things go wrong, they'll ignore your call & instead send text hours later saying they were in meetings, etc. basically what I call "smoke & mirrors". I never even received a call or text for 4 days from the Facility Director the day my mother fell at the facility & had to be rushed to the emergency room, & was gone 4 days to treat a 3 inch head wound. Which indicated to me that these people don't actually care, they just pretend to! Several of the positive reviews on google are written by Foxtrail employees that you can find listed on LinkedIn, so don't be bamboozled like I was by positive reviews, believe the detailed negative reviews, because Hollywood couldn't make up these experiences at Foxtrail!

was invited to a crab fest by my uncle by 530 of a party that was to last until 7pm there was no food. the crabs were outside with no warmer or ice. the so called chef{absolutely not even much of a short order cook} was drinking and didnt care that nothing was left to eat. the folks serving the food were great and apologized but they were not to blame . [name removed] was the one that was supposed to be the chef. it was pitiful to see these seniors looking for what was promised to them and they didnt have even a third of what was needed. i complained to the chef and he ignored me and obviously did not care. we are moving my uncle to another home and hope all others follow suit .this place is terrible.

My mom is in their memory care unit. Everything was great eight months ago. Today it resembles a nursing home. There are no stimulating activities or programs like previously. They talk a good game about how their memory care is different. There is no longer a nurse on the unit. The activities director is now the unit coordinator. No medical background whatsoever and her inability to find activities that stimulate residents is another reason why we are looking at another community. Sitting around all day talking with residents is not a stimulating environment. Stay away is my advice.

Nasty dirty place..took.a tour for a loved one and wasn't allowed to see every empty room.when I was told by a day shift employee their we're other rooms in.another hall way that was ready to be rented. The smell of urine with what smelled like vinaigrette was gagging. I made an unexpected visit after my tour and had the day shift employee I spoke with show me around Her name will not be mentioned but you can best believe if they don't know your coming the place is filthy and residents falling sideways out of their chairs and smelled of feces.. digusting

Claimed that they would be able to care for a loved one, well that certainly did not happen. We were told to label everything (which we did). Somehow sheets, towels, clothes and depends went missing...... They actually used a candy dish as a wash basin. Room was never clean, food was left on the counter for days......

I have never been treated so poorly by the lady that toured with me. She was insensitive, curt and rude. I watched her walk by 2 elderly men that were residents there and they were trying to ask her a question and she just ignored them. Then, she started trying to tell ME what my mother needed and what they could offer. I wanted to say, "Lady, I know what my mother's needs are and they do to include you or your facility." Warning: do not choose Deane Hill because of this [name removed] lady she is evil.

I have never been treated more poorly when speaking to the lady that gave me the tour. She was curt, insensitive and clearly had a hidden agenda when trying to tell me what my mother's needs were. I felt pushed, rushed and generally got the impression she could care less about my mother's wellbeing, only in filling up "her beds". I chose NHC for my mother and it was all because I could tell that their people truly care about their patients and you can genuinely feel the love. With the [name removed]lady, I felt unwanted and NEVER would I want my mother to feel this way. I would never choose Deane hill.

ELDER ABUSE! Families need to be aware of this place!! My mom was moved to Memory Care, they were on a deadline to open and scrambling to get residents, biggest mistake EVER! Mom was physically in great health and needed no assistance getting around, unfortunately, she developed shingles on her face and no one knew what the rash was! I was laid up with a knee surgery, so I had to trust this facility to keep a close eye on her, not easy when I visited regularly everyday! I checked in faithfully and "repeatedly" was told by [name removed], the inept unit coordinator that she was FINE, "NO NEED TO WORRY," only to find out the rash had spread immensely on her face, into her eye, which caused her to lose her vision!! Staff notified me they told [name removed], after we spoke, that my mom was seriously sick and [name removed] deliberately ignored it and clearly lied, not checking on her before calling! Not surprised, she's either "kissing" up to management or hides out in residents rooms watching TV! Fearing she would lose brownie points, she chose to let my poor mom suffer another day before I could get her to the docs, which is dangerous with shingles! The staff at the facility she was transferred to said the sickness got to far ahead of her, due to [name removed] NEGLECT!! KARMA!!! Management is one big useless clique! Not at all supportive to family members or employee complaints, I can attest to this as well as other family members. They preach the residents come first, yet families are moving out and residents are being neglected! Always short staffed, so short staffed that I was told to take my mom to the docs, hoping they would admit her into the hospital because their would be no one to take care of her over the weekend...where she lived! Facility also needs to be educated on background checks after hiring a convicted felon! I even had an employee tell me "not to bring my mom back, to many shady things going on." Due to [name removed]& the Legacy's Neglect, Incompetence and Irresponsibility, my mom sadly passed. There is absolutely no excuse for this ABUSE and there were only 4 residents in the unit, totally unacceptable! Shame on the Legacy and Watermark who were fully aware of the entire situation and did NOTHING! If you want excellent and compassionate care for your elderly parent or loved one, good lord, please DO NOT place them in this god forsaken place, especially memory care!! If you're looking in the Greece area, I've heard & read great reviews on Crimson Ridge, but choose carefully and DEFINITELY CHOOSE ELSEWHERE!!! 4/29/18 - In regards to your response, obviously you DO NOT take neglect and abuse seriously enough, otherwise you would have addressed the situation when I brought it to the Legacy's and Watermark's attention months ago!! Like your useless response, it's been 6 days and how surprising, you haven't reached out! Just proves your commitment to the residents & families! It's beyond disgusting to think [name removed]kept my loving mom suffering in her room like a "CAGED ANIMAL" when she seriously needed medical attention!! Like everything else, [name removed]actions were "swept under the rug" and her only repercussion is putting her back in her old position working evenings, just what she needs more free time!! [name removed]is NOT a nurse and far from qualified, to be caring for the elderly! As another review stated, "nurses are asking how to dispense meds," could that be the cause of 4 or so deaths the Legacy has had within a few months, in assisted/enhanced living?! Memory Care has had enough devastating issues, also a few deaths, which I'm sure were due to neglect and the most horrific, residents escaping from the building, not once, but four times!!! It's a day to day ritual of scheming and conniving! Hopefully, my review & word of mouth will help save someone else from the pain & heartache we've endured the past months & continue to do so!

My mother has been there since October 2017, she hates it! They don't get anything right! The bill was wrong for the first 3 months she was there. They tried increasing it each month til they finally told me well she needs coaching to get dressed and that's 450! A month extra! For queing her to get dressed, she is very independent. They are still giving her regular boost when over s month ago I told them she can't drink it she's lactose intolerant. The Med tech called today to tell me she refused the boost. I said she can't drink it! They never changed it. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!! We are looking to move her asap!!

Be very educated if considering this place. We were duped. Its a glorified assisted living. My mom was there for 7 months and they called us almost daily about everything. If my mother went into another residents room or in another room and used the bathroom. Other residents hit her more than one occasion. They could not take care of her, sent us an eviction notice. Its a memory care facility - HELLO? all the residents wander in the wrong rooms. We would get a phone call like she were a bad student getting written up on bad behavior. There were other residents in my mothers room every time we were there. One was sleeping in her bed! Activities were lame, LOUD music and reading current events. Bingo once a month. Most the nurse/aide staff was nice and seemed to genuinely care, The administrative staff were cold and seemed to have 1 concern - getting my mother out of there. We could feel it each time we visited. They insisted we hire a 1 on 1 caregiver $20-25/hr from 9 - 7pm daily the last 2 months my mom lived there. It was perceived as a threat. At over 5k a month they were supposed to be caregivers. What were we paying for? Food was fair.. SEVERAL personal items went missing. & we notified the person in charge- items never found. How does a 2 foot white teddy bear go missing? Pictures taken off her wall- never found. We often did her laundry so clothing wouldn't go missing. My sister showered her weekly, I changed the sheets. Was by far the worst experience. I would NOT recommend this place!

My husband was a client at this facility and the one in Warrenton prior to that. This company does nothing to improved their facilities. In Warrenton my husband was without air condition all summer. His room was 85 most of the time. They were always going to fix it but did nothing. Not even fans were provided by them. They made numerous mistakes with his medicine. Saying some were given, charted when they couldn't even find the bottles when I went to take him home for the weekend. Moved him to Manassas to in hopes of getting a better place and it was worse. [removed] The odor was awful. Management refused to change the carpet for 2 1/2 weeks and when they did, only did the bedroom area not the area outside of his door. Gave them notice I was moving his, 35 days and now they are saying I didn't give but 15 days notice and want me to pay for the other days, plus saying the room in Manassas was more expensive and trying to charge me for that. I was told it was a lateral move and the same. They will not call me back. An awful experience with them. I feel they broke the contract by not providing a safe, healthy environment and poor medical management. Where do you go to get help for places like this. DO NOT GO THERE.

Disgusting! The facility is dark dirty and void of any apparent care or compassion for the residents. There are staff members that seem pleasant but they are in the minority... With the exception of the sales/marketing manager the management is woefully incompetent. The environment lacks the energy and interactivity needed to motivate the residents to be more active and responsive to outside stimuli. Take mom and dad somewhere else. There are less expensive facilities that provide the care, cleanliness and expertise needed to assure your loved ones of a healthy and enjoyable environment.

My mother who has Alzheimer's was there for two months. There were roaches in the kitchen that came out into the dining room. The staff size was small and was not knowledgeable on how to help acclimate an Alzheimer patient to their new environment. The staff were of low quality. I came to visit my mom early one morning and overheard one of the staff members talking very rudely to my mother and made her cry. At the time, they did not have an activities director and even while my mother was there, there were several people who quit. Even the director of the facility quit after a week that my mom was there. The staff are just going through the motions and putting in their time. The facility lacked warmth and genuine friendliness. Please do not send your loved ones here especially if they have Alzheimer's. My mother's health even deteriorated while she was there. After I found the right facility for my mom, her health returned and now she is so much happier. This review is from someone who visited my mom everyday because I did not feel comfortable leaving her there everyday. I have good judgment and I am an honest person. My heart broke every day I left my mom at this facility until I could get her in another place.

My father lived there eight months before falling in the shower. He never should have fallen since he was living in the Dementia Unit where we were told he would have all the care he needed. He required hospitalization and then rehab. They refused to let him come back to Greenfield. He went toa local nursing home where he died four months later. There is insufficient staff and they are not adequately trained.
