Very nice facility but will not fit our financial situation.

My mother has not yet moved in, but we expect that to happen next Tuesday, April 8. I am very optimistic because it is a somewhat small facility that will not be overly confusing to someone in an already confused state. The staff there has been very accommodating to our needs and I expect that to continue. I like the homey atmosphere compared to other facilities that seemed large and overwhelming. I am basing my review on many visits to the facility and what I've seen when there.

We toured this location when we were looking into care options for my loved one. This was a nice looking facility, and the staff and residents all seemed friendly. We toured a few in the area during our search, and although we found one we liked more this would have been our 2nd choice.

Average age 84. High percentage of males (34%). Some rooms with shower, some without. A LA carte services. Not equipped for patients who wander, cannot feed themselves or become combative. Average rate increase is 2.5% Pros: catholic church across the street, man cave with record player pool table and darts

Some of the menus aren't very pleasing to my friend. The food is not low sodium it's more low carbohydrate. There is a good variety of things to do. They are able to suggest ideas of what residents want to do. The personnel are all very, very good. The staff are all very helpful and accommodating. They call everyday and check on them to make sure they're ok.

My dad has been living at Atria since the summer. I can't say enough good things about the aides there. They are pleasant, friendly, helpful. The majority of the people that work there are great.....including the dining room staff, medical technicians, maintenance, cleaning staff and the receptionists at the front desk. Any complaints I have are with the administration and the nurse. I'm really not happy with the nurse there. I know others feel the same way. She's not very friendly and acts annoyed and unhelpful when approached much of the time. I don't like the situation but since she has very little actual contact with the residents, and the aides are so wonderful (and they are the ones who have the most contact with the residents) I am willing to overlook it. One of the drawbacks to the place, and maybe that's typical of all assisted living facilities, is that there really is no nursing care available for the residents, and no doctor that comes periodically. If you think your loved one is going to be in a place where their medical needs are taken care of, you would be wrong. But like I said, I think that's pretty typical for most assisted living facilities. They have good concerts for the residents on a weekly basis. There is also a range of activities though it seems that only women go to them. It would be great if they could figure out some activities to get the men more involved. One thing you should know (they don't tell you upfront) is that every year the fee automatically goes up several hundred dollars. It's not perfect, but there are a lot of good things about Atria......and since, in my opinion, good care is the most important thing, I do recommend Atria Penfield.

However, the memory care here seemed more like an addition, and we really wanted somewhere where the memory and dementia care unit were the main focus.

The residents look very well adjusted and happy. I would have no problem recommending them.

So far they've done a great job! They're very attentive, and they really keep and eye out for any changes or issues and notify the family with any updates. It is a really beautiful place, the staff are friendly, and they keep it very clean!

It's clean, and when you compare them to all the other communities in the area that we were looking in they had the best value. I don't really have much involvement when it comes to the activities so I can't say much there. The meals are the biggest problem as far as what they serve and their menu choices. Anne Grey runs the community and she is absolutely wonderful to deal with. If you have a resident that needs help with medication, just know that the aides are the ones who do that, not the R.N.

It's fine, it's going well. They really have been great. We have one family member in memory care and one not in memory care. The staff is a little more friendly with the Assisted living section than the memory care area. For the most part the people who are the caregivers in memory care are phenomenal, very kind, very on top of it. One particular caregiver is a little abrupt with some of the memory care residents. They do a lot of memory care type activities with the residents in memory care. Our loved one in the Assisted living side would like to see a pool table or table tennis, some more active activities, our more active family member is a little bored. It's expensive, but any of that care is. They charge for 0-8 medications but if you get one more and have nine then they charge you an extra 330 for one more pill seems a little high, and you have to go through their pharmacy, because it has to be bubble packed. We liked that it's very small, some of the other places are like warehouses.

it's an okay place--not as bright and shiny new as Maplewood Estates but would satisfy my needs.

They were stunning in their presentation, they looked newer. I got a tour and that's it. The people were nice but nothing made them stand out.

It was great. You need to be pretty independent. The staff was terrific. As far as activities they would ask do you want to if the answer is no then that's it.

Mom seems to be happy. There is a little push button, if she needs help. They were good and reasonable and very helpful and close to home. I have nothing negative to say.

We toured this location while looking into options for Mom. I didn't get much experience with this community, but what I saw during the tour looked fine. This was on the list of communities we were considering, but we eventually ended up choosing another based on location a good experience with the staff.

I thought this was a nice place. The location of it (how close it was to me) was a big factor in my decision. It was around the same price as the others I was looking at and seemed to have the same services. I was clean and everyone was really nice but it was farther away.

The Greens was nice but that was senior living. If my parents were a little bit better off this would have been a good place for them. It was a little more for people who were on their own and everything. My parents couldn't go there because they needed their meals and they needed their medicine. I didn't want them to have to worry about keeping their medicines straight.

It was good.
