Finally a place to call home.

After checking out and visiting quite a few assisted living communities and finding out that the waiting list is long and when some of the money runs out your out. After finding out that these communities monthly rent is a per person. I was frustrated. My parents income was limited. Savings was limited. At atria they worked with me and them to make it happen. And they my parents won't have to move again. Atria personnel was and is very nice, polite, and very helpful. Most of them will go out of their way to make your day better. I would recommend this community for sure.

They are painting, updating, and refreshing the community.

They are renovating, so some of this is really hard to rate. They are painting, updating, and refreshing the community. It didn't even look like it really needed it before they started. They are providing good care in spite of the disruption of the construction. They still have activities even though they sometimes get moved or postponed. It really is a very nice place and I think it is working out pretty good.

Great OT an PT care!

This is a really great place, and they've done an amazing job so far. The whole staff has really been working with my loved one diligently, and the nurses and physical therapy staff have been great. She is much more mobile than when she arrived here. The facility itself is well kept, and nice looking. One aspect I like in particular is that they have a large secure outside courtyard between the two memory care units, it's like a park! Really the only improvement I can think of is possibly having more activities on the weekends, since that is when she seems to run into trouble most often, maybe due to boredom.

She loves it there!

She loves it there! I think they are doing well. They treat her well the aids are good. She's eating well. It's like a restaurant you sit down and order off the menu, and if you don't like it you can send it back. If she falls or something there is no medical staff, they don't have a doctor onsite. When I speak with other residents they say they are treated very well there.

My father has been in Greenfield for 1 year. One of the reasons he chose to live here was the proximity to his children. Greenfield is small, but the staff know all the residents and recognize family members. It is very much a family atmosphere at Greenfield.

They were a very nice facility, it is bigger, it had some pretty good features, it just would have been very inconvinient if she had been out in west Knoxville. I didn't think that it was as bright, it seemed a little bit more dependent on artificial light. They had a tall privacy fence surrounding both building, the only way you could get in and out were keypad entrances on the front door, the doors in the courtyards weren't keypad activiated so the residents could go in and out. There was a sidewalk connected the two buildings with grass and trees and little critters running around. The assisted living people looked like they were more active than the memory care could be.

In their lock down facility the people were happy, the rooms were quite small and the facility seemed quite crowded actually, but both the staff and the patients there seemed happy and friendly. In the other lockdown facilities we looked at, the people sat in chairs and looked at the floor, here, this was not the case. There were all sorts of people chattering back and forth and they also thought he would be fine in their assisted living. It was just a matter of not wanting to move him from where he already was because we thought it would be too traumatic.

Next to the top in luxury and care

I don't have as much interaction with the staff as the other caretaker does but of the ones I've worked with, they seem fine. We initially put him into a lockdown because we were afirad that once we got him in there he would run and because he's a former college professor, his cognitive faculties are really good, his memory just isn't as good as it used to be. Homewood made the decision that he would do better in assisted living rather than a lock down and it's been really good for him. In the lockdown, I went on a weekend and found that they had a minimal staff on and they were not friendly. In the regular facility, I do not have a problem with them, they did fail to check on him once when he was ill and that was because of a communication issue. I think the care has been more than adequate and where there's slip ups is because of communication. His other caretaker has spoken with them and they are going to try to work on their chain of communication. Before, he was living at home and alone, we discovered he was basically eating just donuts, he had lost a lot of weight and had sores all over his body. Since we got him into assisted living, his skin has cleared up completely, he's gained about 10 pounds, all of which indicates good care.

Staff is wonderful, there are some very warm and loving employees in the memory care unit. Although the facility is older than others it is very clean. Management is involved and concerned about the people who reside there. I felt when we selected this facility it was the best overall in the Knoxville area, and I still feel that way.

We are really pleased with Greenfield

Greenfield offered the best combination of affordability and amenities. It is an old school that has been renovated so it is fairly unique and their costs were in line with our budget. It is too early to tell about the Care Services and Activities. The staff, especially the girl we've been working with do a fine job, they are always available and are very helpful.

Our Families Experience is good. Definitely needs improvement but the nurses and med techs and staff are great.

We like the private room and size of room. I do notice in some areas the smell of urine is getting bad. They also do not have a full time person doing laundry at the moment and so many articles of clothing have been lost or stolen when out to get cleaned and have not found them yet in over 4 weeks. My MIL lost 4 pairs of capris and 2 pairs of regular pants. That is not acceptable. We wish there was a vanity in the bathroom. Currently it is a pedestal sink and you can't put anything on it.

Review for Fields of Florissant

My mom has been a resident at Fields of Florissant for the past four months. I've been there several times to visit my mom. Everyone there that are also residents, from my observations, all seem to be in good hands, with their care. There is no drama, and the people are nice that work there. It's clean, and it's the safest place that my mom can be.

A great fit

We moved my best friend from another senior living space. This place feels like home in her apartment. She enjoys going to dinner daily. She says the food is amazing. Also she participates in a lot of the activities (which she never did in the other place). Her not stressing over the monthly cost is a godsend too. This place is so worth the cost.
