Watermark Retirement Communities

This community is a little pricer than the community we chose and it is not as nice. The people are nice, however this community is more like a nursing home and we were looking for independent living.

The Alzheimer's patients are in the same wing as the assisted living....makes for activities that are not stimulating enough for someone who still has her mind. Even though I wrote extensive instructions on what was needed and what was not, I still had to run interference on several occasions. Food is good, and after all the caregivers were finally on board with what was needed and what was not, she is doing pretty good there.

Some of the caregivers are fabulous and some are downright unpleasant, they’re not warm. For example, they set the food down and then just walk way. They could do a better job getting people to eat. It would be a better value without the caregivers who really don’t seem interested. When I went and looked at the place, everything looked cheery and rosy. Some of the teams of caregivers are better than other.

Would have been helpful to have had a guide who knew their way around and didnt get lost. Also to have known shortage of space available. Interested in 1 bedroom with den that was not available.

They left my incontinent mom soaking, wet clothes in shower, room reeked of urine, failed to replace waterproof sheet on mattress and ruined it. She fell had bruises - after 2 days no one was aware. Call button response was more than the 15 min they said they react as protocol. They did not encourage activity attendance as promised. Twice movies that were supposed to happen did not and she was sitting in theatre until someone noticed. It's basically like a dorm with meds and meals provided and you are on your own. Residents were not that friendly or inclusive.

I appreciate the attentiveness of the staff. I believe that, in general, my Aunt is in knowledgeable and kind hands. The facility appears to be understaffed at times.

My partner was there and as he began to need more help they raised the price Also a woman named [name removed] would never get back to me when I had asked if she could arrange to take some residents to a free concert That happened twice

Several occasions since new management took over the residents are not receiving full dinner choices and receive minimum food choices with no sides. This is an outrage. The elevated cost of residential living should include an abundance of food allowances. Seniors should not be denied a full dinner option.

Many staff have left, costs of being a resident there are outrageous. Rent goes up by obnoxious amounts yearly. However staff are nice and caring.

Lots of care staff, manager and director turn over in past 7 months. Staff not particularly careful with returning personal items like towels from laundry, maybe because of using agency staff.

I moved my dad in here. Good people, nice facilities. It was 100% and improvement for his living circumstances. I love this place for him, but they are a little slow to attend to maintenance needs. The staff is great. There is lots for him to do, and lots of folks for him to meet. He is still acting like a hermit, but he did take an outing with them

What the Legacy at Clover Blossom could improve on would be the variety of the food as well as the overall quality of the food. With those improvements, I would recommend this community to other families.

My loved one is currently a resident at Rose Tree Place and overall the experience at this facility has been okay. The cleanliness is good and there are no smells. The friendliness and care services are also good. The staff is great! The food is okay. As for the value for cost, it depends on the level of care needed. The base rate is good, but the extra services are costly and they add them without family approval or even notice.

My mom passed away in February. She was moved to memory care in July. Memory care experience was worse than Personal care. My ratings reflect the overall experience. Some of the staff were very caring. Dining situation, activities and treatment in memory care was not a good experience. Although some staff were very caring.

New facility transitioning to a full service and smooth running is challenging and our initial experience was very bumpy. Caused what I would call undue stress. They were clean and lots of activities for residents.

For weeks the Finance Dept. has refused to return my calls. I just want to know about the "extra" charges they applied beyond the base cost. After one month, I still haven't heard back from them. As the one footing the $[removed]/year rate, I would think they would be more responsive. With several good facilities in the Orlando area, I am beginning to regret choosing Watermark at Vistawilla. Be sure to take this into account when you choose facilities.

The staff is very friendly especially [name removed] unfortunately they nickel and dime you to death with fees Three meals were included daily with your rent unfortunately if you're ill and can't go down and get your food they will bring it up to you for $12 per meal additional that adds up they nickel and dime you to death for medications you can't take an aspirin on your own You can't take a vitamin on your own they have to bring it to you and charge you per dosage being a vitamin and aspirin a cough drop they charge you each time that all adds up well above what you're paying for your rent That's a big negative for me if I know that going in I wouldn't have placed her there.

This community could work to improve their communication with the families

The director turnover is like a revolving door. The caregivers are understaffed during the 6A-2P Shift. Sometimes there's only 1 working for the entire facility.

Many of us residents are having problems with water retention. The food, especially the soups have to much sodium!
