Our experience varied over the 6 1/2 years there. Early on it was a 5. After Covid, it was a 2-3, mostly due to staffing issues, kitchen changes, and rising costs. The food was definitely a strength. But after covid, it went way downhill.

What I like the most about the community is Being taken to "medical" appointments instead of driving myself. Playing Spades, Bingo, Bunco off and on. "Lunch Bunch"- they take you to local restaurants for Dutch Treat lunch once a month. Chair exercise. Vitality has its good and bad points.

My parents have been in this facility for almost one year. It's a very nice facility; however, my parents and I feel the amenities are not up to parents as advertised. 1. the meals suck; kitchen staff have no idea how to prepare meals worth eating. 2. The bus is NEVER available for transportation to doctor appointments. Scheduling of the bus is unorganized and needs someone that knows how to manage schedule for efficiency and accommodating all residents needs. 3. Social activities are not that exciting. There is very little activities organized on the weekends and most of the organized activities off campus involve going out to eat. 4. Independent living residents need activities off campus that are fun and exciting.

The staff makes the place. Kind, attentive, and always willing to help. The food, however, makes it difficult to enjoy life here. Meal combinations that make no sense and inconsistent preparation makes most meals a real guessing game.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The facility is very clean and well kept also. However, they need more activities. [facility name removed] had five or six activities a day every day except Sunday.

Fair - good - depending on the staff. They decorate nice for all the seasons. Building is clean but showing its age. There are some amazing staff and some only so so staff. Not impressed with the activities personnel. Don't try to engage all the residents. They like to sit in the center area and do quizzes but not many can answer. They try to keep all the residents in the center open area and then they can go in their little room and watch from there ( this is the caregivers). When I visit the residents are just sitting there. Many sleeping in their chairs or wheelchairs. Seems very uncomfortable to me. Meals are okay but bland. Not much taste. Again there are several in Spring Hill that are great

So far its been ok. There was lack of communication regarding my aunt and lack of follow up so we haven't been to pleased with that otherwise its been ok. They moved her into memory care because she has mental issues- extreme anxiety and she it totally with it. So we will see so far its ok

Took mom away from there after 70 days of living there..I would never send here back or refer anyone. Besides having to tip staff $$ to watch over my mom ,they never answer the phone on weekends or be around on weekends, it was like when we first got their [name removed] was so nice an hands on,then it slowly changed to her saying I need to speak to [name removed] if I had a problem..they have a woman [name removed] I think it was her name,she was in charge of giving out hair cuts an do nails...she only took cash or Venmo, a hair no matter if it was a trim was [removed]$ cash,she would go tell my mom it was hair cut time atleast twice a month an take a picture of a bill for [removed]$ an tell me my mom got a haircut..I was taking my mom to supercut dwn the street for [removed]$ I ask her numerous times to call or tex me before she attempts to cut my moms hair cause she had someone that cut her hair...she never did she would juss cut her hair an send me a bill...also,on weekends all the managers etc would leave an mostly was left was a few people that usually wasn't around watching people who needs help..I would visit on weekends an what I seen was an open place where people would come through there not even checking in an get there family an walk out with anyone knowing, cause no one was at front desk or answering phones..I seen other tenants mean to others especially during visiting, I couldn't understand why they had a 24hr access to people's room..my mom would be sleeping at night an her room mate would have visitors coming an going all thru the night, the so called nurse never called me back,I would find bruises etc on mom but she get nervous when I ask her what happened...her legs were swollen an the nurse didn't seem worried till I took my mom to her doctor an she had a uti, high blood pressure, etc, that's when ii took my mom out...They need alot more training an supervision. I paid over [removed]$ a month for them feeding hot dogs a small portions of process food, they told me different when I complained about food, I bought my mom a fridge an kept all her yogurt, drinks,snacks etc an people including staff would come drink her cokes an eat her food..I would order uber an it never got to my mom after they dropped it off

We didnt even tour the facility due to the fact that their CNAs were not allowed to empty catheters daily. My dad has a catheter and we need that done daily. This facility could not meet our needs therefore we didn't tour the facility.

I would not recommend. Not enough staff

Things are going ok. Some type of glitch with the reimbursement process but working on it.

Communication is not their strong suit, so if you are going to need to talk to anyone at the facility put on your patient pants. I would recommend to others.

The staff was very kind, but I felt they were short staffed and unable to watch my father in law as closely as he needed to be watched. He fell numerous times and ended up hurting himself.

The people living there are a nice bunch. The lay out of the apartment when I just came in was not good. There were issues with the air quality inside because the heater had mold. The dishwasher was not functioning ,had stagnant water, there was a noise through the night!

They are under staffed they don't follow up with the memory care residents the room is dirty and the whole unit smells like urine. The food is good.

Food/dinning experience has been horrible for my grandmother. They are understaffed to the point the med techs were having to wait tables, it was taking well over an hour to get served. They also nearly killed my grandmother. Shes allergic to shellfish and they put sausage gumbo on the menu failing to state it had shrimp and other seafood in it. We've had problems with the med administration team reading her script wrong and giving her too much miralax and caused her to have an accident. She has dementia and they downplay that a lot and when I've tried to tell them something is off and her behavior is bad they tell me shes fine....

Food started off ok then got terrible!! Never saw director around facility. MIL never met her. Cleanliness could have been better. Bathrooms on main floor were always hot and smelly with over flowing garbage cans.

In my opinion, for the price They charge, I give them an overall rating of a low three. Reasons are: The cleaning staff took a "Hit it a lick and seldom a good cleaning." The place is very ”clique(ish) and exclude all but certain groups. The management is seldom seen out among the population and communicate through "elected" flunkies who strut around and have meetings. Food service is pathetic with food barely edible, served by people hardly capable of delivering burgers at a drive-through. The best service BY FAR is when young girls who are on breaks from high school or college are brought in to help Food quality was average but inconsistent. By that I mean you could order the same thing off the menu and it might arrive something totally different. Activities were, I suppose average. The medical staff appeared to spend most of their time chatting among themselves. I sincerely hope they never have a fire because a high percentage of second and third floor residents will never get out of the building in my opinion. As far as value, I felt it was 30 to 50 percent over priced. My views are tainted by the fact I counted on them for just room and board but I was friends less independent than I who I felt were experiencing the same frustrations as was

The staff is top notch. Very responsive and kind. Activities Director and her calendar is perfect. Something for all. The food is not great. Odd food pairings, nothing is consistent. The place needs new carpeting and new washer and dryers.

Mom has been in the facility for six months and they have yet to vacuum and clean the place . I have reached out numerous times to the director, wellness director, and housekeeping manager and still they haven’t cleaned. They have missed doing her laundry numerous times and even tried to enter her apartment at 1:00 am to gather her laundry. She thought they were breaking in and was very frightened. On the plus side, her caregivers have been very kind and helpful and nursing has been very responsive. Nursing 5 stars, housekeeping 1 star. And she can have her dog which gives her a great deal of comfort.
