I toured the Highlands while looking at living options for my father. I thought the community was very nice, but it was a very large apartment complex with everything in one building. I was afraid that the hallways would be too long for my father to walk, so I chose another community for him.

Everything is all in place here at Ridgeview Highlands. The staff are always getting back with us if we have any concerns. The communication with them is really well. I have really been pleased with this facility overall.

Living here six years. 190 units so a variety of personalities. A decent looking exterior community with regular lawn care service (albeit some outdoor resident decor is excessive and patio residents like to "sprawl" into shrubs). Highlands offers top notch maintenance staff --always pleasant and respectful. Typical noise levels for elder living (loud TV's d/t hearing issues, slamming doors, hallway chatter, visiting grandkids). Pets allowed (restrictions apply). Dog owners tend to congregate on specific residential patios and their gatherings get loud (voices and dog yipping). Management cannot regulate # of humans allowed in residential space, or on patio/balcony . Arden Property and Management should pay attention here and regulate appropriate areas for puppy gatherings. So if you want a quieter exterior atmosphere to enjoy your patio or balcony, don't rent a courtyard space; note all one bedroom apartments are courtyard. Courtyard is aka parking lot.

In living at the Brookfield Highlands Apts my neighbors and I discussed the extremely poor air quality as the vents have not been cleaned by the owners since the buildings have been built. Some of us paid hundreds of dollars to private companies to clean them, more than once. The system is so old that it is impossible to stop the unhealthy dust mites in air & on furniture and floors. The carpet has not been change over twenty years. Tenants MAY pay the property to have IT'S choice of company to lay inexpensive carpet or laminate wood-like planks at an extremely high cost. A waterheater burst flooding the old carpet. The stench from the nicotine of previous renters and the stains were ignored. I was charged $[removed] to move furniture for replacement of carpet. PASS on moving there.

Get rules before moving, because there many. Seems it's not really your home, as much as it's just a place to live. Appliances are outdated. One plus is that it is very quiet.

Brookfield Highlands is nice. Everything is going well. We're satisfied with the services they provide, the cleanliness of the facility, and friendliness of staff.

Brookfield Highlands is not a secure facility. Underground parking spaces are allowed to be sublet..no background checks or info gathered. This allows the non-resident access to our living areas. Overall the facility is aging and quality upkeep becomes an issue...drainage around my building is not good..Drain flies is a persistent issue. The staff are very nice but much is out of their control..

too high raises every year.staff is great ,they fix things right away but the cost over a few years can be costly.

Our tour at Foresthill Highland was super short, and we didn’t get to see much. They showed us an office that was set up as an apartment, not an actual apartment. My loved ones were not impressed. They were also not impressed with the staff here.

I would tell anyone to steer clear of these apartments. If the manager likes you, you pretty much have a free pass to do whatever you like. And that includes letting your dog crap in the hallways. If the manager decides she doesn't like you, you don't stand a chance! My feeble 82 year old father (who can only get around with a walker) and his wife were residents for a few years and were just "kicked" out at the end of their lease. The reasons cited were unbelievably PETTY! They were things like "apartment kept too messy" and "not parking straight enough in the parking structure". They were never given any warning or chance to correct the issues. Nope. They were forced to move, no chance to remedy A THING. This is unconscionable to do to elderly people. This is an apartment complex for SENIORS!!! That means people that may not be able to maintain their apartment the way they'd like. I visited my father's apartment on several occasions and it was not dirty, just cluttered and messy. My father and his wife were very loved at that apartment and had many friends. Their neighbors threw them a going away party as a matter of fact. My father paid his rent on time, in full, every month! They were not loud or disruptive. My dad sat in his chair all day, most days, watching sports! Many residents have stated that they don't like what goes on there with this property manager. If you want to be micromanaged and to be spied on and scrutinized for every little thing, then these apartments would be for you. If you don't want some old biddy spying on you like the neighbor in the TV show Bewitched, Mrs. Kravitz, then STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE! The person that runs this place is vindictive and not kind. She has no compassion whatsoever! To top everything off, my father has been BANNED from all Highlands apartments for reasons they cannot fathom nor understand. That in my mind is completely over the top! My father and his wife are not criminals and did nothing wrong! Beware of this place and the controlling and bitter human being that runs it. If she likes you you're gold. If for some reason she decides she doesn't like you, watch out. All of these things done to my dad and his wife were solely done for personal reasons and not based on logical tenancy issues. Do yourself a favor and find someplace else to rent! I would never want any of my elderly relatives to live here!

Just awful and was taken advantage of. Leaser beware. After living there many years, the rental office never told my relative that a month to month lease was possible or available. After my relative had to break the 12 month lease (the 5th renewal) early due to medical issues the rental office made no attempt in trying to re-rent the apartment and left it out of any promotions available to new renters, leaving my relative with a $9000 bill when the lease expired. After the lease was completed, Highland communities rented the unit a week later. It is illegal in the state of Wisconsin to not make an effort to re-rent a unit at the expense of the previous tenant.

If you are looking for an apartment with a friendly and helpful office staff Nicolet Highlands in Depere is Not the place for you.If you ask for repairs and complain until they are done they may decide to not renew your lease.

Absolutely the worst place to send your parents/grandparents. My father in law has been there for four years now and they have raised the rent, every single year. This is not an exaggeration, every year. They then require after every year that these seniors sign a new annual lease rather than go to shorter terms. These long lease agreements make it difficult to try finding more affordable housing because Brookfield Highlands then states even if you leave, they will still bill you rent even if you do not live at the property. That means they will not only keep your full security deposit, but continue charging rent even if you have moved out. Should we talk about cleanliness? The HVAC units emit a thick white 'dust-like' buildup throughout the apartment. My father in law has complained multiple times and the concern never got better. His breathing problems have become worse because of this dust. This company is just that, a company, they do not care about the citizens that live here they are just trying to make money. Don't even bother trying to have a conversation with someone in charge about a 'policy' because they will not budge, it's all about the money with this company.
