The place is very up to date, beautiful hallways, and loved the room sizes. Was just enough for dad. The nurse that came out to the house was very helpful as well as the lady the provided the information and followed up. Unfortunately money was a concern for us, so we ended up moving dad into another place.

My Mom is living at Highlander Place for almost 2 years. She has excellent care! The staff has always been so helpful and accommodating. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone who is looking for a place for their mom or dad or any family member.

Bickford is a very pretty place. Lots of flowers in the front of the building and in the main lobby. When I first walked in I was impressed with how pretty it looked and clean it looked . Everyone had just eaten breakfast and were being moved into the main living room. The residents looked comfortable, clean and content. There were ladies who worked there that were with the residents in the living room sitting with them to help them if they needed it. I visited the memory care unit, but was told about the assisted and memory care options. The building is older and the rooms are older and ok. The tour went very well, the manager was extremely nice and helpful with providing information. She took a lot of notes and seemed genuinely interested in my mother. They make you feel very welcome and the people who work there stop and introduce themselves and their chef brought in some nice snacks and cold water. They emphasize individual plans for memory care patients to help them and making their residents comfortable and happy. The residents all looked comfortable and content. I liked that all the ladies were in the living room together and not sitting alone. They looked happy and secure to have others sitting around them. I was just touring so I can't say anything other than about the tour. But it is a very nice place to tour, impressive in appearance and people who work there, the manager is very nice and concerned, the building is old but looks nice, the rooms are old but adequate, the location is easy access to met calf avenue. I would recommend touring this facility and considering it.

We can't say enough about this beautiful assisted living home! We were greeted immediately at the front desk by a warm and friendly receptionist. The lobby is very inviting and has a nice living room feel as you enter. A few of the lady residents were gathered around enjoying each other's company. We were given a tour and were so impressed with the beautiful amenities! The lunch room has a stunning fireplace and all the interior decorations were nicely coordinated. There is ample room for family to have a get together with their loved one if desired. All the staff that we met with were extremely helpful and informative. Can't say enough about this wonderful home!

I spent a week out West visiting my 99-year-old Dad who lives here. The room he had (a two-unit place) was well kept and had wonderfully big windows overlooking the nature outside. I loved that his bird suet feeder that one of family put up was refilled regularly by maintenance staff so he could watch the birds. The nursing, activities, and admin staff was caring and attentive, the food good (I ate with him at least once a day and there multiple food selections for each meal) and there were lots of activities (he loves the exercise class). It's perfect for his needs as he didn't want to live with us in Chicago when he needed full-time care (our home has stairs to the bathroom - and he is NOT a Chicago Cubs or Chicago winter weather fan :-)

Westwood is a wonderful facility. They have a great staff, a beautiful home like atmosphere and a fun filled activity schedule. Family involvement is also encouraged and included in their programming.

We moved my mother in law into Westwood 1 month ago. What a wonderful place. Every one is so nice and helpful. There is always something going on, too. Mom is now getting the care she needs but still has some indepence. Thanks Westwood.

I came in all the time a i have say how friendly everyone is especially [name removed] at the front desk always smiling and laughing. She is great with the residents . Its so refreshing to see.

I am thrilled that this place a lot of staff that ALL speak English. An appear to like working there, and like older people. I pray the staff stays the same. The last two places, the staff got worst and no one speaks English. I think this is terrible. People with memory loss need to be spoken to on a daily basis.

It has everything an assisted living home should have. Wonderful staff and amenities. It’s not too big and overwhelming like some places I toured. Rooms are up to date and the facility is beautifully maintained. My grouchy 89 yr old grandpa would even agree. :)

Westwood is the place I was looking for, to take care of my Grandma. The staff is amazing. They take wonderful care of her. They are personal in remembering everything abt her and with her loved ones that come visit. They are their own little community and the other residents make friends with my loved one and look out for her as well! My grandma says the food is delicious, the staff is caring, and it is very clean. I’m thankful my grandma is safe and being cared for. I am at peace knowing she’s happy and being well taken care of. Now I can enjoy her more with the weight of trying to care for, that Westwood has taken off of me.

This is a great place. My mother has early onset Alzheimer's. We were very concerned about her living alone and wanted to find a place where she could be safe yet still maintain some independence. We did not want to put her in a typical nursing home. We toured Westwood and were super impressed. It had everything we could ever want for her...a nice big apartment, great food and services, activities, and a super friendly staff. They helped us walk through the process of breaking the news to my mom and getting her on board. Within a week she settled in and hasn't ever asked to go back to the farm she lived on for over 30 years. We love to go up and visit and participate in the monthly family activities. The staff does a great job communicating with us and letting us know what's going on. We love Westwood and are so glad that we were able to find a lace like this for our mom.

Mom’s new apartment! Westwood has been such a blessing for our family. Mother has a very outgoing personality and in the two months that she has lived there she has made many friends. The daily activities help keep her mind engaged and busy. The monthly family activities are a blast. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure everyone is having a good time. The daily exercise class is so much fun! My grandson and I had the opportunity to take part one morning. Mitchell’s quote, “This is like my football conditioning but we did it sitting in a chair. I’m not sure my coach would approve but it was fun.” Because I live very close to Westwood, I’m able to pop in anytime of the day. I have observed the staff in many different situations. They are always helpful and treat the residents with love and respect. Our family is very grateful to have found such a wonderful home for our mother. A big thank you to the staff.

Mansfield Place welcomed our mother with open arms from the moment she moved in. She loves it here! She also loves the food. She is treated with love and respect which is important to us. We are so pleased! Highly recommend Mansfield Place!
