This was a nice community. The pricing was too high for me.

It's a pleasant experience and a nice place. The workers are very good. It's clean. The apartments are nice, and they're a good size. From what I've seen, I think it's a good place, and my loved one seems to be adjusting to it.

Overall, the staff is friendly. There are plenty of activities made available if residents choose to partake in them. The staff is responsive. They just had a change in management in the last couple of months, so I don't know yet what that will be like. I believe they've handled Covid fairly well, and I feel like it's a much better place than where she was before . One of the gals at the front desk was rude to our loved one's caregiver, but otherwise the staff has bene great. PreCovid, the food was really great. There have been a few blips with certain Covid challenges, but overall it's still good. My loved one clashes a bit with the activities director, and there was one instance where she asked for a book to be ordered for book club on two separate occasions, and it took a couple of months. So my loved one felt a little excluded for a while. Once that was all resolved, she settled in and made some friends. When she gets out and about, she feels comfortable.

Verena At The Glen is only Independent living so there are no care services provided. Prior to COVID they had bingo, and other games for the residents. We also were able to brew our own beer. Every Friday they would have an open bar for social time. The food at this community is being delivered to us. The food is not consistently excellent. My apartment is perfect, they offer different varieties in size. This community has three separate buildings, two are apartments building for the residents with a common area.

I like that I have my own kitchen. My unit has two bedrooms and two baths. It has been updated and has new hardwood floors and granite counter tops. It has a balcony and a fireplace and lots of storage. Lots of areas to walk. Security 24/7. They have a nice handbook for residents. Garbage is picked up at your door twice a week. Everyone is very friendly.

I was here [dates removed] to visit my mom. She moved in 6 months earlier after selling her condo. I booked one of the guest suits, which is the same as a 1 bedroom apt. It was more convenient than staying at a local hotel and gave me the opportunity to really see what is going on here. I received nothing for this review although you might think I have. All the staff I met (administrative, maintenance, food services and cleaning) were friendly. While each apt. comes with a full kitchen, the monthly rent includes breakfast and dinner. I had several dinners with my mom at her table in the main dining hall. There were also 5 other women there. After the 2nd dinner I quietly commented to the waitress that she had the patience of a saint. From what I experienced, all of the wait staff were friendly. The food is VERY good with varied menus each day. The white linen table cloths pass my mom's high standards. There is the aptly named "happy hour" daily at 4:00pm when wine and snacks are served. Since moving in my mom has begun to socialize again, having made new friends and leaving her apt. to participate in the various activities offered within the community. I am happy my mom moved here.

My mother in law had decided to downsize from her home to an apartment. My husband and I were on board with the down size but not the apartment. She is a very social person and isolating herself into an apartment was not what we wanted for her. I have been in senior care for years and suggested we look at Independent Living apartments. We began our search. She found amenities she like and disliked. She first visited Arbour Square with a friend. She then wanted me to see it. We hit a home run there. The facility was spacious and beautifully decorated. Everyone greeted us with a smile, including the residents we passed in the halls. She found an apartment with a great view. It included a full kitchen which was one thing she did not want to give up. Her furniture she wanted to keep fit right in and we updated with a few new pieces. She has made new friends, enjoys getting involved and attending activities she is interested in. Recently due to illness the Physical Therapy had been very convenient and she truly likes all the therapists. Over the winter we knew she was safe. As children we cannot ask for anything more for her. She is checked on daily and has taken advantage of many of the available services offered. Our mother is content.

My mother and father moved into Arbour Square in the Fall of 2014. My father has passed away recently but my mother continues to thrive within this community. She is so very happy there as she has made wonderful friends. The concerts and numerous activities bring her so much enjoyment. As her family, we always feel welcome to enjoy meals with her in the beautiful and well appointed dining room. Family events such as Halloween and Easter parties as well as Santa coming at Christmas time have brought her grandchildren and great grandchildren to AS to see Grandma in her happy environment. Mom just loves it! All of the staff and especially the Director, [name removed] are sincerely warm and embracing to all. Arbour Square is a wonderfully run and managed community.

I have enjoyed living at Arbour Square. I like the food. The only bad experience so far is the fire drills and fire alarms. There has been more fire alarms than fire drills. So far I feel that is part of living in this type of facility. I moved here from Virginia. I still drive. The website for Pennsylvania DOT was not very helpful to someone moving into Pennsylvania.

My parents moved from Florida to Pine Ridge of Garfield in May, 2018. They wanted to be closer to family but still live independently and have services that would make everyday life easier. Pine Ridge has really been great for them and has been a relief for me. I am so happy to have their meals provided without the need to grocery shop and cook, or go out to restaurants. I am also very happy to know they have a clean home and they don't have to worry about the laundry getting done. I am also pleased with how well they have adjusted to their new home. The staff is always friendly and helpful. We are all very happy.

Verena is for us. Moved in 4 years ago in our late 70's. We left our home while we were still able to be active, and join in the Verena family. We have many activities on site, and many excursions off site. More than we had before. Our executive staff is part of our family. Kind, gracious and cares for us. We have made wonderful friends and no more maintenance costs or grocery shopping. I personally enjoy someone else preparing my food and serving me in a bright and cheery dining room.

I am so happy that my mom resides at Arbour Square. It is a beautiful place - well kept and immaculately clean. The staff is very pleasant and I like the way they interact with the residents. I've never had a meal that wasn't delicious and I like the variety and the quality of the food they serve. The planned activities are great and very entertaining. Everything they do at Arbour Square is done with class.

I cannot fully express how wonderful Arbour Square has been to my Mother, and our family. My Mother moved to Arbour Square after our Father passed away. As a family our biggest concern was that she remain active and involved. Very quickly we realized that she made the right decision. The many activities, the dining, the convenience of having a hairdresser, banking, Podiatrist, Physical Therapy, and blood lab on site has been wonderful. This allows her to make her own appointments and have a social life. I have enjoyed many meals in the beautiful dining room and made many new friends with her. Her large apartment allowed her to bring her favorite things with her, She has her memories and made many new ones in her new home. For anyone looking for an independent lifestyle in a beautiful complex, I highly recommend a visit to Arbour Square. Attend one of the many activities that are offered to the community, speak with the friendly staff, and tour the facility and see the many amenities that are included. Enjoy your visit. We made a good choice when we chose Cadence at the Glen. It is a very beautiful community in a country setting surrounded by trees. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a newspaper delivered daily. We like the meals that they serve and they always have music playing at mealtimes. They provide two meals a day, breakfast and lunch. They offer a variety of activities such as cards, puzzles, a recreation room, and an exercise room. There is transportation for outside excursions residents can sign up for. The residents that live here are very friendly and welcoming. There are multiple places around the community to walk or sit in padded chairs, or benches to relax and enjoy the view. There is a lot of parking available and the parking lot is well lit. I would definitely recommend this community to friends and family.

Can't say enough about the experience we are having at the Villas. Our case is unique, as our sister has Downs Syndrome but is high functioning. Our main concern was that the atmosphere was safe and the people were welcoming and this place is both. They have lots of fun things to do and many outside activities. The facility has been extremely welcoming since our parent moved here several years ago. We are extremely happy with the facility including the meal service and the attention to detail by the staff. There is "always something to do" if you care to join an activity. There are planned visits to local restaurants and transportation can be arranged at no cost through a free public service bus by calling in advance. Highly recommend this option for anyone especially as there is no high "initial fee" to live in the community.

My parents both lived at Arbour Square and my father moved to the Birches as he became more frail. They both found the community at Arbour Square an excellent value for their money. They started in a wonderful 2 bedroom apartment and my father downgraded to a 1 bedroom after mom died. There was a wealth of activities, which they could choose to participate or not, and a very caring staff, especially in physical therapy.[Removed] were just great for them! Executive management was always on top of things; accommodating to their residents and welcoming to their families. It was a good compromise for my parents who could not maintain their 5 bedroom home. I recommend both Arbour Square and the Birches.

This is a very nice community. They seemed to be active when I visited. They do offer more entertainment stuff for the residents to enjoy. The staff I met were nice and knowledgable.
