Transforming Age

The reason that I didn't choose this AlmaVia was because of the bathtub. You had to step over to get into the shower and I just didn't want my mom to fall. I thought it was a beautiful place and the had beautiful grounds. It was just the bathtub that I didn't like. We ended up choosing the AlmaVia in Union City instead.

I thought t it was great but it was too big for my mom. Her Alzheimer's isn't so far advanced but I thought she would be overwhelmed here.

I put my partner on the waiting list here. It seemed nice and friendly. He had been in skilled nursing before and this was much more refreshing. It was fine as far as I could see but we found an opening at another place.

To far away from where we really want to be. Nice place though.

This place was nice. It was clean. Everything seemed on comparable to the others we were looking at. One of the others was more competetively priced though.

Very nice decor, has nursing add-ons want, companion suite, advanced care suite. Only includes dinner. Nurse to do eval on mom on Monday at St. Therese. Larger rooms, better kitchen in companion suite. Has happy hour, Sunday brunch. May get roommate with cat. Has dietician and nutritionist to monitor diet. Buddy system. Good activities calendar. Waiver accepted after 2-3 years private pay! Willing to make exception for mom. Pendent alarm. Bluestone medical. Phone and tv extra. Has van with wheelchair lift, has offsite activities. Closest to us of three.

I would say I chose Heathers Manor because they were incredibly friendly, there is a very strong sense of community there, and there is an all around nice feeling it gives off.

Really like the facilities and the neighborhood. The cost is probably not within our means.

Very nice facility. Clean. Friendly staff. Newer facility; only been lived in about two years. Very nice apartments (originally planned to be condos). Nice location. Lots of activities. Very knowledgeable staff. Remain in same apartment and add services as necessary.

The director could not have been more accomedating. The staff is cheery and the overall setting is professional yet homey. I like the idea that they have everything from living on your own to hospise care. The activities in the memory care unit are excellent and beeing a small group the staff really will get to know the residents. I believe that this would be a good place for my dad and possibly my mother in the townhouses.

Comfortable, friendly staff. Many services and social activities. Spendy but would not have to move again. Nursing and Md on site.

Nice, reminds me of a mini-version of Monarch Village. Still liked another facility more so in terms of pricing and available perks but will keep this as a backup place.

I toured Wednesday with Mom & Dad and The Waterford housing director, Brad. I like the people here very much. M&D loved this place. The one-level townhomes that are beautiful. Right on the campus, w/access to all amenities and activities of the "community". It's beautifully cared for inside & out.

I was quite interested in one of the units as it had great outdoor access and one had a great deal of closet storage. The director was extremely helpful and nice!! She did a great job of showing me the units.

think this would not be a good fit for my dad.

Friendly and lots of resources. AL apartments are small, only 1 bdrm. IL apartments are just over 1K sq ft for 2bdrm. Would want to get an IL apartment close to restaurant, otherwise it's a long walk. AL apartments currently available, but that may change as we get into Summer and moving season. IL is $1K/month. AL is under $4K/Month.

I would recommend, The Rivers to others. The food is not good. The staff is good. It was in a great location for us. They have a nice outdoor space. The rooms are a good size. I think it is worth taking a look at for your loved one.

My husband and I toured here when we were trying to find a place to live and we thought maybe we’d like it but when we went to take a tour, it seemed like the people that were there needed more help than what we did. However, from what we saw, they were keeping everything very clean. They have several levels of care available depending on what you need. They showed us around the whole place and showed us the areas where people needed the most care and then we went to the area where people needed the less care and they just really seemed to care for everyone. Just from what we could tell, they’re doing a very good job.
