Very friendly staff but didn't like that it seemed more like a nursing home

They were not upfront about some of their policies. They have policies in regard to being banned from the dining room and common areas if you have an open wound. They do not offer wheelchair accessible transportation. The staff are not helpful. The food is bland and they have small portions, however it does not taste to bad. A lot of the activities they offer are not compatible with all of the residents. This is a beautiful place, unfortunately they do not always show respect to the residents.

When I toured this community I thought it resembled a jail.It's 11 stories high and more motel-like.They don't offer an outdoor living area or a garden. It didn't seem like a place you could call home.

Did not have a "warm and fuzzy feeling". The receptionist told me to take a seat while I waited for [Removed]...yet there were no seats available. I was also told I was not allowed to speak to the residents which is the opposite of everywhere else I went The memory care unit I visited felt very institutional.

We toured this community for my mom. the staff was very nice and helpful to our questions. They had a good variety of activities and meals that would have been available. We would recommend this community, but it was not what we were looking for.

This is a really nice place but I feel they need to ensure they are doing what is requested. I feel they are trained to give perfect feedback and at times when asked they are sorry they forgot to do it. It is an annoying problem that they don't follow up with you. Some things were misrepresented from what I was told on our tour. If I would do it again, I would look around more.

A little early to draw conclusions. Our experience was we got off to a slow start but things seem to be improving.

I was able to tour this community and my first impression was not good. I do not like carpet because it golds odors. There was a bad odor in there carpet. Also the staff to resident ration was to high. The community was just to big for what we were looking for.

Rooms too small. Prefer 2 bedroom

I took a tour of this community and at first I thought it looked nice, from the outside, then I went inside and I felt that it looked run down. It is close to Wal-Mart too. This was not where I would put my mom.

I did like the community but I felt it was not a fit for my mom. I noticed that this is a place for independent living and there was no room to advance to memory care.

So far so good. Apartments are roomy enough and the view is so pleasant! The staff of the Independent Living are caring and helpful. The place is in need of some serious repairs. The dock out to the lake is completely unusable and unsafe and needs to be repaired. The dining staff are impersonal with the residents and often too quick and not engaging with them. Always in a hurry to finish up and rush the diners out. The dinner meal time is WAY too early.

Mom is still a fairly new resident of Spring Haven and believe me when I say this was a big step for her. The initial move in was not the greatest to say the least. We went with the moving trucks and when arriving we let the staff know we were the. The lady said she'd bring my Mom around while we waited in the back. After a long wait my mother comes walking around the back by herself with her keys which rubbed me the wrong way. It wasn't until a week after she had moved in that someone came to check in oh her. Another thing that has recently rubbed me the wrong way is the fact that whomever got Mom to sign a paper to end her HMO in order to be Medicare only without any consent or communication with me in regards to the matter. There was a lack of communication which was quickly addressed. Other than my concerns Mom seems to be adjusting and has made a few friends. She is not the type to participate in activities although I am hoping she will with time. The staff have been great and are improving on the communication.

Small, charming assisted living with with caring patient care. Administration is friendly and try to accommodate needs but it's very hard to connect with nursing and activities staff to get information.

Visited 7/21/15 and met with Deena. Very thorough meeting and tour. Pretty nice, clean, older facility. They don't take Medicaid patients.

It's going as well as could be expected. I think they do the best they can with what they have. They just hired a new activities director, so that should help get some things going. The staff is good, they really do try their best. It's one of the less expensive places, so I guess you get what you pay for.

We've had somewhat of a mixed experience with Spring Haven. The staff here all seem very friendly, and the facility is well kept and clean overall. However, I think the memory care unit isn't quite what it could be. The assisted living portion of the facility seems very nice and open, but the memory care unit feels a little cramped and claustrophobic. I also feel like it is understaffed.

The Oaks of Clearwater is a farly nice place. The waterfront views are great, staff seems friendly and efficient. However, the food is far from gourmet, the units are small, and the elevator situation is very inadequate. The rates are reasonable compared to other places. If I had it to do over again I probably would have chosen a different place..

We did not have a great experience with Bayside Terrace. Our loved one was in their independent living section, but while she was there she suffered a fall and was unable to reach her call button and was on the ground for 7 hours before someone found her. Dealing with the management afterward was awkward, they were trying very hard to avoid taking any responsibility. We moved her out after this incident.
