Caring

The pharmacist is on staff several times per week and with properly signed consents is able to provide information for concerned family members. The staff are caring and secure the facility for their guests. Outings are provided on a weekly basis and fun mental games stimulate social times within the Manor.

The person that took us on tour was great and helpful. This is an older community that did not feel very bright and cheery. I think their decor could use some brighter colors as it did not feel very inviting. I did not think the layout of the community would work for my loved one.

My mother said the staff were very nice. However, she was not happy with the food and was expecting a nurse on duty at least sometime during the day. Somedays the nurse did not come in so there was no one who could do much if you were ill. We had listed the foods my mother would not eat but those were served on several meals with nothing given to her as an alternative. She had to ask for something else so she had food that meal. Very quite place and not much activity.

I toured here when I was looking. They have their memory care in a much smaller area, and it felt kind of claustrophobic. They were also a good distance away, had they been a little closer I may have given them a try.

good, but expensive

I think it was a bit over priced for what we got. They were able to manage medications, but they were always short of staff. The activities offered were fine. There was always enough parking. The food was excellent.

Angels work for "a place for Mom"

We have now placed my stepmother in Hampton Manor 24th Road, in Ocala Florida. They are still undergoing positive changes in the care of Altzheimers patients. I'm very happy that they provide care based on need but the financial burden is non existent! When our private funds run out they have the Medicaid waiver program. We no longer have to be concerned for the future caring of my stepmother. They even have the Hospice care covered. The peace of mind is priceless!! Going thru this journey has been emotional to say the least. The service that "A place for Mom" has given to me and my family is so awesome. ( I know that their staff are True ANGELS.

That was nice, older and completely redone. It was clean. We went on a day that they were having an open house. The staff was really good about answering our questions. One gal stopped and gave us an individual tour. Everything was OK, but it was too big for mom.

The door was locked so we rang the bell for a little while and we saw the residents sitting there and the medicine cart was unattended. We rang for a good 5-7 minutes. Eventually the nurse came to the door and let us in. She didn't make any motion to move the cart or anything. There was a bit of humidity and a bunch of fans on. I asked her about it and she said the power went out. I appreciate the honesty with that and that they were trying to accommodate the residents as best as possible. There was a smell of urine as we were going down the hall. The people were nice though.

A Place For Mom - My Mom

While looking for a suitable ALF for Mom, I decided the number one priority was "Location, Location, Location". I chose to tour Hanna Oaks as it was 4 blocks from her church and less that 1/2 mile from her home of 40 years. I found the staff and accommodations both friendly and suitable, although far from perfect. The private room chose was very affordable and perfect for Mom. The Administrator allowed me to decorate her room with all her favorite things (she loves butterflies) so that her arrival would be welcoming. They loved her room so much that they often 'show' it to others who are touring the facility. Mom has mild dementia and limited mobility along with incontinence. Assisted Living was the recommendation of her doctors. I live upstairs and work full time and my home was not deemed appropriate for her needs. Mom was confused and non-social at first but now she calls Hanna Oaks her 'home'. She has many friends and the staff all love her. She is the social butterfly of the group. Her 'church family' is nearby and she receives many visitors. I am on a first name basis with the staff and most of the residents. We often have 'snack parties' when I visit. I love Hanna Oaks! It may not be for everyone but it saved my Mother's life and gives me peace knowing she is well cared for and looked after.

Nice people, subpar facility, and food

The staff are very friendly and they've been responsive whenever asked to handle something. I wish they had the bandwidth to be more proactive. Overall they've been kind and helped with the transition and seem to be patient with my dad. The Food has been the biggest complaint. It's inconsistent in timing and quality. There has been undercooked bacon and the food is often cold. I don't expect it to be the Ritz but it also breaks my heart that I can't afford something better for my Dad.

Review for Belvedere Commons of Franklin

I wasn't impressed with them. I was thankful they accepted my mom so quickly when she had no where else to go, but she never saw a doctor or their nurse practitioner, meds were never adjusted, it was difficult to get answers at times or even know who I should talk to. I had to ask what items she would need, they didn't let me know ahead of time.

Like the most is it's on one floor. No stairs or elevators the seniors have to use or fight to use. Improvements I love that they have laundry service; but dislike the seniors can't get their own items back. My mom has been there for less than a year and I've provided four water proof mattress pads; four washable bed pads; and four sets of sheets. The last two weeks, my mom's bed doesn't have a mattress pad, bed pad or sheets. Just the bedspread. I've complained numerous times to no avail. Mom has to return other people's clothes that she gets. It awful

Review for Belvedere Commons of Seneca

We like the villa here at Belvedere Commons and everyone is very nice. Nevertheless, there is a real problem with the food. The kitchen staff is usually short handed and not given enough money to buy sufficient food for those they are required to feed. Those being served usually don't get what they are told they will receive on any given day. Usually what is given is in small portions or not on the plate because they ran out.

Used to be great, going downhill these days

When we moved my mom into Belvedere Commons, it was a huge relief because it was a welcoming, friendly, warm, and generally cheerful place. The residents seemed mostly content and there was a comfortable vibe. The business changed hands not long after that, they have been through I think 5 directors, and things are not nearly as relaxed and comfortable as they were. My mom is in the memory care part and her room is never cleaned well. Her clothes are often stinky and dirty when I come to see her. They have said they are changing the cleaning staff, so I hope that happens. The regular staff are still caring and good, but don’t have time to do the best job. I visited once a couple of months back, for example, and my mom had fallen and her arm had a large, open, oozing wound that had not been cleaned or dressed. There was blood on her shirt that had been there overnight. That is the kind of thing that should be noticed and taken care of, but it is the kind of thing that can get overlooked these days at Belvedere Common if your loved one has memory issues. They need more staff. I still like the place and my mom is as happy there as she would be anywhere. The staff and other residents are really nice to her, and I think she enjoys the people. I just hope that things improve and get it back to the great place it was when she first moved in, but I honestly don’t know how that could happen unless it gets sold again to a better corporate overlord.
