This place cannot keep their employees - they all leave for some reason. Not good for me.

My husband's aunt moved into this facility. And it has been nothing but a NIGHTMARE. We were told such wonderful things..and none of them came true. For the amount of money we're paying, I am so shocked. Do NOT believe their words...rely only on what you personally observe. They seem to have no communication between employees.. and I have been lied to more than once by caregivers. I'm supposed to be able to relax and enjoy our aunt now... but I'm worried sick she's not getting the care she needs. I want her out..but the problem is, I don't know of any good alternatives.i have young kids at home I can't care for her. :( IF I COULD DO ONE THING..IT WOULD BE TO NEVER BELIEVE A WORD THE PEOPLE AT SUNRISE IN LILBURN SAY!!!!!

The staff is helpful until you need something. My mother signed a lease, then couldn't move in until August. They said it was fine, then she had a major stroke and had to go elsewhere, but now they want me to pay a month's rent even though she wasn't supposed to move until August and we told them back in the first week of June. Good sales, poor customer service.

The level of care here is poor and I would stay away if your family member needs hands-on care. There were many times when an on-call caregiver would not respond to a page request for assistance. My family member ended up in the ICU on their watch while in the Memory Care unit. The Assisted Living Coordinator is condescending, rude and never engaged me in how care was progressing - it was rather very forcibly trying to upcharge for services and making me feel llike my family member was a problem. She should be fired. The lead nurse also had an incredible condescending attitude. Many listed activities like excercise and lecture are videos on TV instead of interactive sessions with real people. Just like the some of the caregiving at this location - a sham.

This facility was NOT a good fit for us. The residents are expected to stay in their rooms and keep to themselves. My mom has dementia and has lost the ability to speak, so she was trying to communicate by squeezing someone's hand. This was not acceptable to Sunrise and we were told we needed to find a new facility. Mom also wanders and other residents were upset when she would go visit their rooms. There was also a very high level of turn-over in staff and as a result no one ever knew quite what was going on and would "pass the buck" on to another caregiver who was not there and could not be reached. Overall, just a rotten experience. Spend an afternoon in the facility you are considering and just WATCH what goes on and how the residents are treated before you make a decision.

my mother was a resident here...the care managers were very helpful but the administration was terrible. very unresponsive and incompetent . also thought that it was expensive for the services provided. thought that they were always looking for ways to increase your bill....rates where always going up...would not recommend this facility...

My mother experienced approximately 2 months of very poor care at this facility. She lost weight, was required to sit at assigned seating where no one showed up and she was dining alone. How terribly depressing for my mother. Resident associates walked in early and told her she had 8 minutes to get dressed and be down at breakfast to socialize with herself? The director tries to intimidate the family and sales does sales only. Do not go back to them with any issues. At night, the med techs and resident associates are supposed to help the residents, but they are upstairs locked in the nursing office on the computer or gathered together chatting away while the residents are on their own. My mother spent twenty minutes waiting after she pushed her button to request help. She fell and had no way to get to a call button and crawled on the floor for over 30 minutes waiting for someone to come. This is not care. This could be wonderful facility, but management needs to change. Perhaps they need to come after hours to see what the employees are doing instead of asking the family for names of the employees who are not doing their job!

My mother has lived here for 3 years. Before she moved in, we were thrilled. The decor is lovely, the staff seemed attentive. After she moved in, however, the actual care provided was terrible. The staff was disinterested and hostile. The neglect and disrespect was unconscionable. Some staff members would argue and patronize my mother, making any request she made feel like a special favor - she was often scolded for things beyond her control - things that are the reason she is in Assisted Living to begin with. When I would seek out a staff member, they were frequently together chatting, or staring at their phones. On several occasions, my mother fell in her room, and wasn't discovered for more than 5 hours. They are supposed to check on her every 2! They played around with her prescriptions to make the medication administration easier on themselves. I asked to be notified about any changes in medication, but I never was. She recently moved out, but we are still paying for the room - but the staff helped themselves to everything that was left in her fridge. She'd only been gone 3 days and the room was still technically "ours"! If you are considering living here, please keep looking.

Okay, so I took my grandfather, and my friend, and myself in to tour this place one afternoon. Their first issue started in the parking lot. We asked for help transferring him into a wheelchair, and waited twenty minutes for anyone to come help, and then they couldn't even manage. He's not a big guy. He's 150 lbs, and maybe 5'6". It shouldn't be that hard for trained professionals. The issues certainly didn't stop there. The woman giving us our tour was pretty terrible about it. She let us into residents rooms to tour. We all felt extremely uncomfortable in that situation. Only one of the residents had been notified that there were strangers being allowed into the private space. If I had placed my grandfather here, and found out that this was happening to him, I would be beyond furious. The woman also ignored him several times, and my friend as well. She must have figured that I was the one with access to money because she only acknowledged me. At one point, she even admitted that she was ignoring him because he was in a wheelchair, and apologized for it... only to continue doing so. At the end of the tour, my friend asked for a few moments so that we could all talk together to discuss our thoughts. She said sure, and then refused to leave us be. My grandfather, who would be paying the bills if this were to come to be his home, also asked her for the papers regarding the costs, and she ignored him and kept trying to give them to me, even after I explained that he needed to be the one receiving them. Their day time activities also left much to be desired. On the day we visited, the big activity was "watching the Carol Burnett show together". No one who stayed there seemed to be enjoying themselves, they looked bored and sad. Needless to say, he did not opt to stay there and I highly HIGHLY recommend they replace their saleswoman. She drove us right out the door.

We have had a terrible experience with Brighton Gardens, and I would recommend avoiding them. We've had problems with the care, communication from the staff, and just staff attentiveness in general.

My big beef with them was that my wedding ring came up missing, and no one knows what happened to them. My mom was there only two days, so I can't really rate them on activities. The care was good. The location was an important factor in choosing the place. It was just half a mile from my house.

Not happy at all with this facility. 95 year old mother was there for 4 months and we decided to move her out. Saff difficult to deal with and not very compasionit. They forget that the people in their trust are.somones else mother or grand mother. In the 4 moths my mother was living there they had 3 different Directors......

My experience with Yorba Linda was not nice. They were not very pleasant. I had several issues with them. We were charged $4,000 for only 4 days. It was shocking what I went through with them. I was not satisfied.

Very disorganized management. Cannot seem to get instructions down to the staff. The staff is very nice and try very hard. There is only enough staff as required by Georgia Law. I would not recommend this assisted living to anyone..Looks nice, but there is more to care than looks. Management hours are 9 to 5pm, forget after hours or weekends.

My wife suffers from advanced dementia,initial tours did not signal the level of incompetence that I later experienced. The dementia floor is understaffed,the staff has not been properly trained for this level care. The staff is not caring or supportive. The nurse is clueless relative to medical needs and drug application. The md that they use ,dr messenger is also out of his league, they completely misdiagnosed ,mis prescribed, and failed to coordinate w my wife's MDMA at Lahey clinic,culminating in our being drummed out of Bertram house on a late February afternoon to go to Lynn union hospital w no notice ,preparation or support. The director an ex marine treated us as if we were at Paris island,. I cannot convey how horrible an experience we had at Bertram house swamps tot ,or how poorly trained and uncaring the staff is from the top to the bottom. My wife is now at Putnam farm Danvers and the contrast could not be more stark.i cannot speak highly enough of Putnam farm, nurses are on duty 24/7 ,they are highly trained and professional in this area, ALL the staff is highly trained and loving and NEVER use physical forse(in contrast to Bertram), the physical plant at Putnam is far superior to Bertram. Activities , food ,setting professionalism, medical care, outstanding,I recommend pun am house wo reservation. I wouldn't put my dog in Bertram house

Really shoddily constructed building that has aged badly like an old Super 8 motel (creaky floors in hallways), not terribly clean, cheesy 4th of July decorations everywhere. Susan the rep emphasized dancing and said mom should 'have fun' not cook. Definite no.

It has been a nightmare from day ONE!! No one really seems to know what is going on, lots of confusion!! Seriously thinking of moving my loved one OUT!!!

I am not happy with the way things turned out. There is no value, we didn't get our money's worth. It was a clean facility, I will give them that. They did offer activities, but did nothing to integrate her into them. They did not work to make her feel welcome, or help her out of her funk. The didn't do an assessment of her there, and she never should have been there in the first place. They are nothing but a bunch of rent collectors if you ask me. We signed a 3 month contract, and it was only supposed to be a three month trial period, the guy who signed me up made me think it was going to be a walk away situation after the 90 days. That was not the case and they charged me for an extra month. The dining situation was horrible, she would sit by herself and again, they didn't work to get her integrated at all. I regret taking her there to begin with. The whole experience was sickening. They don't pay that much attention, and don't get on top of things once they are brought to their attention. I didn't like the atmosphere, it wasn't somewhere I wanted to spend my retirement years. The dining room was pretty intimidating. They just turned her loose and said you are on your own. There was no effort.

My friend was admitted to Sunrise from Wyngate in Brighton. She had some medical issues and was going to need the extended care. I understand this is hearsay. My friend uses a wheelchair. The community said that they didn’t have a first alert, but they said they would check on her every couple of hours. She fell that night and now she’s in a nursing home. She had been so happy to see her furniture, but now there she is.

My loved one stayed here for a short time, and we really didn't like this place at all. The facility itself was not impressive and we were not happy with it.
