MY MOM WAS IN MEMORY CARE. MEMORY CARE DOES NOT GET THE ATTENTION - FINANCIALLY THAT THE RESIDENTS DO. THE GARDEN AND THE OUTSIDE WAS A DISGRACE. THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH CAREGIVERS TO PROPERLY ATTEND TO THESE ELDERLY . AND THEY NEED MORE ATTENTION THAT THOSE IN THE RESIDENTIAL PORTION OF SUNRISE. EVERYTHING IS PEACHES AND CREAM WHEN YOU GO VIEW THE FACILITY AND WONDERFUL STATEMENTS ARE MADE - LIKE - THIS IS WHERE I WOULD WANT MY MOM, ETC. NOT FAIR TO GIVE A "COME ON" WHEN YOU ARE DEALING WITH THE CARE OF SOMEONE YOU LOVE VERY MUCH. THEY ARE NOT TREATED WITH RESPECT OR DIGNITY IN MEMORY CARE. I REMEMBER MY MOM WAS EATING HER DINNER (I WAS THERE WITH HER) AND THE WOMAN THAT WAS CLEANING UP WAS SNATCHING SILVERWARE, DISHES, EVERYTHING OFF THE TABLE BEFORE SHE HAD FINISHED EATING. THIS WOMAN DID IT TO ALL THE PATIENTS. AND REMEMBER.....THESE PARTICULAR PATIENTS - MOST CANNOT COMMENT OR DO MUCH FOR THEMSELVES. THEY JUST "TAKE" WHATEVER TREATMENT IS DISHED OUT. IT UPSET ME TERRIBLY!! I WENT TO THE PROPER PEOPLE AND I WAS ASSURED IT WOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF - IT WASN'T. THE OUTSIDE - THE SALES STAFF TELLS YOU ABOUT HOW THERE IS A GARDEN AND IT'S SO NICE TO TAKE SOMEONE OUT TO BE IN THE FRESH AIR, EAT THEIR MEAL OUT ON THE TABLES WITH UMBRELLAS. IT WAS SO DISGUSTING AND DIRTY AND NOT MAINTAINED IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM. THIS TOO I REPORTED. GOT THE RUN AROUND WITH EXCUSE AFTER EXCUSE. JUST NOT RIGHT!!!! MANY PATIENTS IN MEMORY CARE JUST SAT AROUND AND SLEPT IN THEIR WHEELCHAIRS (WHICH I KNOW FOR SOME IT WAS UNAVOIDABLE), BUT THEY WERE JUST LEFT THERE. THE FURNITURE WAS DISGUSTING. I DIDN'T WANT TO SIT IN ANY OF IT TO WATCH TV

Much too expensive for the small rooms and over all condition and care that is given.

The staff is very sweet but the training of the caregivers leaves a lot to be desired. It's the blind leading the blind. When my loved one calls me and needs something, I need to speak to multiple people to get her what she needs because very few of the caregivers have the training and initiative to manage care. The new resident director tries hard, but she deals with a staff that really doesn't have the skills needed to handle even slightly complicated care. The lack of communication between the nursing and administrative staff to the caregiving staff is astounding. In the evenings, no educated care leader is in place. We have had to repeatedly explain doctor's orders to the staff and we still run into caregivers that either don't understand or have never been informed of the orders in place. It's very frustrating.

I toured Sunrise at Five Forks, but I didn't stay long. The community itself was nice and it seemed like they offered a good number of activities. However When I arrived, I noticed an odor almost immediately, and I didn't feel like I wanted my loved one there.

I took a tour of this facility but I didn’t really like it for my parents. The people in the memory care center seemed to need more help than what my parents would and I wasn’t sure that they were really getting the amount of care they needed, just from what I saw. The whole place felt more like a corporate business than a home.

This is a very nice community and the staff did a great job showing me around and taking their time with me. Everything is open and bright and they even have a resident dog who was a rescue dog that lives there. I liked the pleasant atmosphere everything was clean but I knew that the rooms were going to be too small for my dad. I would definitely recommend coming here for a tour.

Overall our experience with Sunrise was disappointing. The facility itself is nice enough, but I found the care lacking. The doctors were fantastic, but the aide staff were not very attentive. If your loved one is on the lower end of the care scale they essentially don't get any care at all. There was also quite a bit of staff turnover in their RN staff during our time there. Based on our experience I would not recommend them.

We toured the Brighton Gardens of Edison. The staff was wonderful. The director was awesome about answering all of my questions. We did not like where the community was located and the community itself was not very inviting or homey. It was not well kept. It was not the right fit for my mom.

Beautiful facility! They don't seem to have enough staff to carry out what is promised. I would stay away from this facility until they fix their lack of staff therefore very poor services. Very expensive for the services received.

My mother has really been struggling on making the transition into this community. The staff seem to be kind people and helpful with some of her needs but I am seeing some of her things slowly disappear and I am not happy about that. That is my biggest complaints at the moment with her jewelry as well as other personal items.

As my mother has memory troubles I think a written agenda of what she can expect each day would have been helpful and would be helpful now. As when to expect nurses to come in to give medicine as the first morning it scared her to death Also things like what day to expect cleaning day, list of activities, meal times etc. Even when someone comes in to tell her something she will not remember that in an hour.i would have liked to have someone to have come in on Monday morning to check to see if everything was alright or if we had questions. As it were before I left on Tuesday we were on our own to figure things out and as you could imagine she was confused also Also, rugs were very dirty as my socks and feet we blsck

My mother's stay at this community was good but could have been better. The lack of communication from the staff was the overall worse part of our experience with the Brington Gardens of Winston-Salem. The nurses were friendly and kind to my mother while she was there. One thing that really bothered my family and i was that the patients would roam around the building and sometimes go into my mother's room. I wish the facility was divided better between the patients who needed constant attention vs the ones who need it less.

It has been a decent experience for my sister here at this community. We do have some concerns, but overall it is a nice place. I wish they were more honest with the level of care they are able to provide. I had to hire some extra care for her. It isn't the best community, but there are some things about it. The food is good, they serve nice meals. The community looks nice. Overall it isn't what we expected, but it will do for now.

There have been so many recent changes in the community that the corporate management did. During dinner there are no waitresses or waiters serving meals it's the caregivers now doing that. The residents had two choices at dinner time now it's one and everyone is trying to get in there to make sure they receive dinner. Some of the activities that are offered don't really match their age group. The staff is very nice and attentive they try their best. All the recent changes have changed the quality of life of the residents.

Our experience in the community was good and bad. The community looks decent, they could do a better job with the cleanliness. The care staff was good, my issues were with the management staff. She was here for a respite stay. For the most part I know she was safe and good hands. I recommend this community.

Our experience with Sunrise of Buffalo Grove has been mixed. The caregivers they have here are professional, friendly, hardworking people, and the care and service they provide is good. However, they just do not have nearly enough people on staff. Regarding meals, time to receive entree after placing order is about 30 minutes. Total time from sit-down to soup/salad, to entree, to desert, to leaving is typically 60-75 min., and the place does not look well maintained. They're just spread too thin. Activities program is weak. Residents complain about boredom and lack of interesting programs

From the outside Sunrise seems like a nice place. The first week my Father in law was in the community everything was good and the staff were really nice. Since then my father has been taken to the hospital and he has not been in the community long. I would definitely recommend looking into this community closely.

This has been a hard transition for my mother. She wants to move back home, but our family knows this is a good place for her to be at. I do have my concerns regarding the promised they made us. They have not followed through with a lot of things they promised us. Their communication with me could be better. There are activities offered and the food is fine. I'am confident about the care she is receiving, but I don't know if I would recommend this community.

Make sure you insist on getting the emergency alert pendant that you signed up for the minute you get there. They didn't and a horrible incident occurred. Very unorganized care for the 1st two weeks even though roughly 30 pages of info. on each resident need to be filled out and physicians orders have to be in their hands before residents move in. Had to ask twice after it had been over 2 weeks for the suite to be cleaned. This suite was not on anyone's schedule to be cleaned. The contract says weekly. Now the suite is much cleaner. No dietician so if you have someone on a restricted diet good luck. You need to be on top of everything about the care or... Good thing is everyone is so friendly and caregivers try their best to do a good job. The facility is a very happy place for the residents. I will give them more time to get organized and hope to be happier about the care.

The residences is well kept and clean. The staff are caring. The food is terrible. They try to prepare the food as cheaply as possible. An example is that they only serve chicken legs rather than chicken breasts. The kitchen runs out of food such as eggs or toast in the morning The meals taste like they are prepared hours before being served and are Lukewarm at best. They have a residence food committee but the owners of the residence don't follow through. They are great until you move in but once you've there they believe you won't move out so they don't really worry about anything.
