They definitely could improve their activities. What they plan is all very good, but only about 50% of what they plan actually happens. They do their church outings, but the movies and the shopping outings rarely happen. Also, if only one person shows up, they cancel the activities instead of doing it with that one person. Other than that, everything is very nice. It's expensive, but worth the price. The food is one of the highlights. They take a lot of pride in their food. They have fresh ingredients and a wide variety! Also, they keep track of what the residents eat and will let you know as well! The security of the building is great! The doors lock at night, so the residents can't wander outside, so you know the residents are safe. It also feels like home. It doesn't look like a facility, it looks more like a hotel, or a large home. There are nice gathering places and fireplaces. It also doesn't have that "smell". The apartments are nice, and they just look like regular apartments, and not a room in a facility. It's pet friendly, so even if you don't have a dog, you can visit with the other residents' pets. Also, there's a house dog who lives there, that serves as a protector to strangers. Lastly, they are able to accomodate younger residents by giving them lots of things to do around the place. The people in charge are very nice and knowledgeable. It's such a relief to have my loved one in a place that I trust and is safe.

They really don't have a lot of activities. The residents wander around aimlessly in and out of other rooms, or are sleeping in chairs. Some people aren't in to coloring children's color books, and it's just not stimulating. It would be nice if they had more physical activities, like light weights or a treadmill situated to they can't hurt themselves. I was also disappointed in the food selection. For those who don't have teeth, there's not much variety. I haven't tasted it, but I've seen it and it looks like it tastes good. Lastly, it would be nice if they had a male caregiver during all shifts, to help the men who would prefer a male caregiver. Other than that, the staff is very nice and friendly. We really liked the looks of the facility, but you just don't know until they move in. Out of what we saw, they were the best.

I moved my mom in early in 2014. Brighton Gardens is a more attractive facility than her previous home. The move-in process was very efficient. There have been a few minor problems with the care managers, but I am there every day to be sure everything is okay. Mom chooses to not participate in many of the activities, so I can't comment on those. There is currently a virus outbreak in the facility, and they seem to be taking the proper steps to control the problem.

We haven't had any complaints. The food would be about a four. We really liked the facility and we loved the location, it's a quiet neighborhood and close to shopping. We are very pleased. She is participating in activities I never thought I would see her participate in.

The staff is courteous, informative and I really like Brighton Gardens. The location is amazing and the facility is clean and inviting.

It's only been a short time since mom became a resident. I had visited another location a few years ago for another sustained injury. However, the need was not as great as it is now. We are in the 'getting to know you" period for the staff and that of our family. They are, however, more than willing to accommodate our requests.

Sunrise is a nice facility and conveniently located. It does seem more expensive than I expected. Not sure this will be a good fit for us.

Go out oftheir way to please Mother and our family. Turn around time is very minimal when we need an answer or request something. Very helpful. Good listeners and go out of therir way to please.

Overall they are doing a good job with my loved one. The facility is very clean, and the staff have all been friendly and helpful. I've been very satisfied with the service and can't really think of any way in particular they need to improve.

Toured on Tuesday 25 Feb; of the 9 properties we have toured in Charlotte area through 26 February, Sunrise is the best; great floorplan with short halls leading to central area, numerous sitting/gathering areas through out the building, not just on first floor, bright and sunny due to skylights on 2nd floor and high ceilings and windows in many rooms.

I'd really like to see them improve their dining service. While the food isn't terrible, the meal service itself just seems disorganized. Otherwise, it's a very nice community. The staff are all very friendly and professional, and the care they provide is good. The facility itself is clean and well kept.

The staff has been so helpful getting my parents their apartment. Everyone is very friendly, which makes the transition less stressful. They are very knowledgable about what care is appropriate and making sure it is a good fit for the residents. It was quite easy to get everything taken care of and set up so my parents could move in. I have peace of mind knowing my loved ones are in a great place.

I visited here and liked it and the staff. They had nice areas for the residents to do things, but the more I think of it, I think it would be a little too confusing for my mom who has Alzheimer's.

It was a nice facility. It's just off the highway and not tucked away enough for me. I liked the way the staff interacted with the residents. I took a ride down the elevator with the cat, that was interesting.

Travelling to Granite Run was easy from here. I found a cheerful wonderful atmosphere. I met with Erin Freed, Sales Associate,a delightful & easy person to talk to, who answered all my questions & during our tour I met some of the mannagement team members. The residents looked cared for & clean. One gentleman & his visiting friend were sitting in the dining area,near the front entrance, he had been here since November, 96 y.o. On departure,2 & 1/2 hours later,I noted him sleeping in the same chair in the dining area, alone, his friend had left. All areas were neat & tidy. I also visited the locked area were people were walking around, sitting & chatting & interacting with staff members. I did not witness any organised group activity. But did see the listings & menu for the day/week. For me the locked section, was not as comfortable as the main section. But that is just me, I cannot get used to restricted environments. I do know some people require this for their safety. But overall It seems a delightful caring facility/home. A little dust left on picture frames in the bathroom off the dining area,& under the sink area needed a little more care, cleaning. Erin told me studios/appartments are cleaned thoroughly once a week. The appartment & studio Erin showed me were well arranged,with care in floor plan taken into account. I loved their baths with water jets, I wish I had one for him at home here. Thank you all.

The food was superb. The service was great. The staff was great. I am not really sure that the staff presented what the situation with the lease was, very well. In the end any misunderstandings were worked out, and overall it was a good experience.

It was a good place. They were good to her. The food was good, I've tried it. There was a lack of communication at the beginning, that was upsetting.

Positive tour experience. Secure environment. Requires residence bring in their own furniture. Separate charge for room and care. Changes in care required increase to overall charges. Residence bring in own furniture. 4th choice

We toured this location when we were looking into options for Mom. What really struck us about this community was how friendly everyone was! The staff were all very nice, and several residents came up to talk to Mom during the tour. It was a nice looking community, but unfortunately it was a bit too far to be an option for us.

We chose Sunrise because we needed independent living for my Dad and high level assisted living for my Mom. They have been at Sunrise for one week, and so far we are very pleased. Move-In: Priscila was excellent in helping us and supporting my Mom during a difficult moving process. She was kind and helpful. She was also patient with my 90 year-old father who was a bit stressed out. Food: Both my parents have raved about the food. There are varied choices and the food is presented as if it were being served in a restaurant. Apartments: Both my parents' apartments (they each have one) are clean, light-filled, and well -suited to their needs. They have a sitting room, bathroom and small kitchen area. Staff: Very helpful, usually smiling and cheery. My Mom needs extra care and they visit her often throughout the day to check on her. Sunrise is a more expensive place, but what you seem to get for that is a high-quality team of caring professionals. The Sunrise staff has lifted a great burden from our family and we are grateful. My Mom is already looking and acting healthier and happier since her arrival. We feel that Sunrise can be a wonderful home for them for the rest of their lives and this is awesome. We enjoy visiting Sunrise; it is welcoming for families too.
