Sunrise Senior Living

My issues were the initial few days the staff was overbearing and I was uncomfortable but after that the staff stopped and tings were ok. I was charged for care I didn't receive only there for a short period, Other than that it has been a positive experience. The care givers are very friendly and are genuinely concerned about the welfare of my dad, as well as all the residents.

My Dad has been living at Sunrise of East Meadow since late January 2015 and after an expected adjustment period, I have to say that i am very pleased with the care my father is receiving. Any complaints he has had have been minor and he tells me regularly that they are taking really good care of him. My Dad is a pretty easy going guy but he does require quite a bit of care as he is physically incapacitated. I feel extremely fortunate to have found a place like Sunrise that is willing to take on the challenges of caring for a person like my dad. I am grateful everyday that i wasn't forced to put him in a nursing home.

Overall I think they do a good job at Sunrise at Hollday, we're really enjoying it here. The people are friendly, and the place is clean and well kept. Really the only thing I think they could improve on would be the meal service.

Very Positive visit. Facility was beautiful and staff were friendly. Neil was a pleasure and very informative. Definately on my list of possibilities.

It has been hard for my friend to make this move. She is 95, not good with change at any age and now it is even harder. The staff has been wonderful about reaching out to her and doing their best to make her feel at home, included and cared for - despite her crankiness! Medications have been on time, information has readily been shared as needed. When I have a question, all the staff is approachable - from the top down - and they are responsive. That was not the case concerning previous experiences.

Aides and assistants all friendly and helpful. Dining staff as well. All have been great. Cortney and Rebecca rock it with efficiency, helpfulness, great personalities and great activities. However, when I asked for assistance to help determine future tax deductions related to assisted living, I've heard nothing. I've emailed, left voicemail. Even an email to her personal email was left by another employee and still no response at all. Need info by tomorrow to meet with financial advisor. Our situation may or may not be unique in that my husband and I are covering all of expenses with very tiny bit from my moms SS. So we are making ends meet and would really appreciate some information that could assist with future taxes deductions which would better clarify our personal burden going forward. If you don't know....well just say so and suggest another source. Simply ignoring emails/ voicemails is poor business!

They were okay, as far as being clean and friendly. However it seems like they were out to make a buck, and get paid for everything that they could, whether they actually earned it or not.

Very nice - so far is my second choice.

Very good ambiance the facility looks like a Victorian mansion and can't say enough good things. We love this facility and dad is very well taken care of. Living in the facility is like living in a Victorian house we love it. Would be nice to have daily report cards of the progress of the resident.

I think they do a great job overall at Sunrise at Countryside. They really put a lot of effort into making sure my loved one felt comfortable and at home when she moved in. The staff are all very friendly, and the facility itself is well kept and clean.

They could have better meals faster and getting mail updated as to the way it is delivered.

My grandmother was a resident at Sunrise Sheepshead Bay for only a few months, but it was very comforting to me knowing that as she needed more care they were willing and able to accommodate her needs, even setting up hospice care for her. Most other assisted living residences do not provide the extensive nursing care that this one does, eliminating the need to have to move her again to a nursing home. She was able to receive as much care as she needed. The food selection was good, quality was good, assistance in the dining room was good once I requested that she would need more help eating, etc. Overall a wonderful experience and would recommend it to other families.

This was a beautiful community, and they had really good food. It just isn't really for those with dementia, so it wasn't the best fit for my parents.

We were very please with the care our dad received at Sunrise on Providence. The people are so friendly and caring.

We toured this community when we were looking into senior living options for our loved ones. This seemed like a nice place overall. The staff we met were friendly and the facility was clean and well kept.

This was one of the places we toured as we were looking around. They were nice, and I liked them. They were very friendly. They really didn't fit in our budget though, so it wasn't a great option for us.

This is one of the places I toured as I was looking for options. I really liked it, and I loved my contact person here. It wasn't in a great location for us, so it didn't end up being our pick. I did really think it was nice though.

This is one of the places I toured, and was near the top of the list, when I was searching for options. I loved the individual attention that they provided. It felt good. I would have liked to see some transitional care for memory care. This was a really nice place though.

It was a very nice community. I just think it is too small for mom because she does live in her own house and I think it will be hard for her to transition from her house to that one room. But it was very nice. It was also to expensive.
