Sunrise Senior Living

I chose Parkwood Estates because I needed a one level community due to my illness and it provided that. The studio I have here is a little on the smaller side but it is perfect for what I need it for. The best part about the community so far has been the friendliness of the staff members as well as all of the residents. There is always someone to help if anyone needs anything. I would recommend this community as long as people understand that the meal services are limited due the virus.

We chose Sunrise at Montgomery Village because of the location, it was a one bedroom instead of a studio, the affordability, and the overall appearance. The room sizes here are adequate for needs. The best part about the community so far has been that the staff members really look after the residents and are always checking in on them. I would recommend.

I am disappointed in the food at Sunrise Villa but I think that is because of the virus. The food is delivered to our rooms and it is cold. The dining room is open but you have to make an appointment sit alone at a table, so it has been hard to make friends. They are doing the best that they can. The facility is beautiful and is beautifully decorated. They had plenty of activities for the residents before the lock down from the virus. Although the building is on lock down, I am still able to make arrangements with my son and he can come pick me up and take me out which has been nice. There have been no COVID cases at the facility.

We chose Brighton Gardens of Mountainside because it was the most centrally located facility between the siblings and the easiest to get to. The room sizes here were adequate, my mother was in a one bedroom and it was perfect for what her needs were. We did eat here a few times and the food was good, they always had variety to choose from and they provided snacks throughout the day. My favorite part about the community was it was beautiful, well kept, and they had a nice outdoor space for the residents. It was very cheerful feeling when you walked in. I would recommend.

We chose Sunrise of Lincroft because of the location, the amenities that they provided, and the friendly staff members. He was in a studio and it was adequate for his needs. We never ate here but he seemed to enjoy the food. the best part about the community was it seemed very cheerful and upbeat. I would recommend the community.

The facility itself was very welcoming, our loved ones room was very welcoming as well. This was a very nice place for her to be. We would recommend this community to a family or friend. Our only issue we had was the parking, it really sucked. They are kind of land locked so they just did not have enough parking.

We chose Stratford Court because of the location, it was close to my children so they could visit her whenever they wanted. The room sizes were good, she was happy with the size. She said the food was ok, they had a menu on a computer that residents get to choose from. My favorite part about the community is the staff members, they seemed very friendly. I would recommend.

I would recommend this community. I liked the cleanliness of this community, the nurses and aides were nice. The community did have a lot of activities for the residents and the residents were friendly. The food was good, as well. The community's only downfall is that there is a miscommunication between hospice and the community. I would recommend that you know where hospice and community stands for the overall care of your loved one. The community is good for senior living.

My loved one's experience was good. The community was clean. I thought that it was over and above than other places that I had visited. The staff was very friendly, and saw to my loved one's needs. My loved one had her own apartment. Overall I would recommend the community. This community is overall a little expensive. The only complaint my loved one had was she didn't like the fact that the community was kept out of her apartment. The community tried to have the resident socialize with other residents. My loved one didn't want to be by herself at night, and the community wouldn't put a staff member with her at night. Overall I was happy with this community.

The staff was nice, I didn't interact with any other residents other my then my loved ones. I would recommend this community. The responsiveness was good. My loved ones liked the food at the community. The community brought the meals in boxes to the residents. The food changed due to COVID.

We looked at a lot of other facilities, we chose Sunrise because they seemed very capable, caring, and they were friendly. I also liked the physical facility. The room sizes are just fine, no problems there. They have a menu with some variety. The diet here is too starchy in my opinion. My favorite part about the community has been the size, I looked at some that were a lot larger. It seems smaller and more personalized and you know everybody. Overall, I would recommend.

My mom has been in Sunrise Memory Care since June. It was extremely hard to place her during the time of Covid but I knew Sunrise was carefully trying to protect all residents. They have been good about communication. The staff is eager to help when I have a concern. They have recently started activities so I can’t comment about those. When i toured Sunrise I was impressed by the cleanliness and the staff. I would recommend Sunrise if you are looking for a special place for your loved one. My mom seems happy there.

Although the furnishings are dated, the rooms seemed nice and were relatively spacious. Residents I saw seemed happy and involved with a Bible class that was just beginning. Staff were pleasant and helpful. [name removed], who showed me around, knows everyone by name and also gave me lots of information.

We have not been able to visit our loved one since they day we dropped her off due to COVID. When we first saw this community we really liked how friendly the staff was and how engaged they were with the other residents. The rooms are lovely, however the bathrooms could use a little bit of newer paint to freshen them up.

This is a pretty nice place to live. They take great care of us during this pandemic.

We thought this community was very expensive for what our loved one received, As far as we know they did offer a decent amount of activities for the residents to participate in. Our loved one was in wheel chair all the time and her room was on the first floor as well as the dining room, which was very convenient for her. Overall we think the food was fine, We would recommend this community with reservations. If the person that was staying there was mobile then yes, but if your loved one needed more assistance we did feel they did not have enough staff members.

Our loved one moved in a week after COVID, so the last time we saw her was when we dropped her off. There have been no regular activities and no full schedules. Sunrise is still under the restrictions of the local government and state laws, however they have now started allowing outside visits on the porch. Even though we have not been able to fully experience this community, we are very happy with it. We were able to tour Sunrise before COVID and it was kept pretty clean. The staffing level and the overall brightness of this community really stood out to us. It was very clean, very comfortable and there are two recreational rooms which are very well organized. One recreational room is for more being move active, and the other room is for quiet time. There was plenty of sunlight through this community. The meal room is bright, sunny, and welcoming. Our loved one wasn't able to get her physical therapy until two or three months after she had moved in, which caused her to fall back a little. The staff has been very flexible with trying to make our loved one feel very comfortable. She suffers from sever anxiety, and this community has listened to all of our concerns as well as the doctors, and instead of having her on a bunch of medication they have come up with creative ways to help lower her anxiety levels. This has helped so much and we are very pleased with all of their efforts.

We chose Sunrise of Cary because when we went they had 1 room available looking out at a forest and when we walked in my husband thought that it looked like an old European Hotel, it had an overall nice feel. My mom has a very good sized room and that is her favorite part about the facility. The only negative I have is the food is not very good. It is more canned foods rather than fresh. My mother said the deserts are very good though. I would recommend this community.

Sunrise of Randolph community is a little more on the pricier side, but the staff is great. However we wish they could be a little more aggressive with helping our loved one eat and finish her meals in the dining hall. Some activities our loved one really enjoyed was the live music they would play, as well as the arts and crafts. When we first came to visit, we really liked how friendly the staff was. It has a very nice pleasant atmosphere to it, and the building is very appealing to the eye.

I would want people to know when looking into Brighton Gardens that you should go have a meal with your loved one. Just see the flow and walk around as much as possible different times of day to make sure it is a good fit. I would absolutely recommend this facility.
