Sunrise Senior Living

My loved one has only been at Park Wood Estates for a short month, and in that month, everything has been great. The facility is very clean. The staff is so nice, caring, and accommodating. I would definitely recommend Park Wood Estates to others. It's just a pleasant place to be.

Things have gone very well with The Quadrangle so far! It's a very pretty, clean, well kept community, and both the staff and the residents are incredibly friendly! They have a program where current residents will act as ambassadors to show new people around and eat with them until they get settled in, which I thought was very nice. The only difficulties we've had have been due to some construction they are doing. The phones were down for a few days, which was inconvenient, and the pool has been closed during the construction.

My experience with Sunrise at Cherry Creek was great! My mom was there for respite care for one month. The staff there is wonderful; very attentive. Everything I asked of them, they followed through on. They treat every resident very good. The facility is gorgeous, always sparkling clean. If I could've, I would've moved in.

The Care Managers are wonderful and try very hard to help all the residents with their individual needs.

My experience with the Sunrise at Hillary has been quite well. I'm really pleased with everything. It was a surprise to us that the facility dies not provide personal items, such as a toothbrush. It's all the family's responsibility. Besides that, I'm satisfied with staff, care provided, cleanliness of the facility. Absolutely top notch.

I think they're doing a good job at Sunrise of Lincoln Park. It's a nice looking, clean community, and the apartments are a nice size for the price. The staff are friendly the community just has a good feel overall. My loved ones are having a bit of trouble settling in, but I think they will enjoy it here once they do. The only real issue we've had so far is a little confusion getting their medication services set up, I feel like the community could have made the specifics a bit clearer.

Elder care is a miserable necessity. But I can confidently recommend Sunrise of Westlake Village under Director Royce, because of their current caring and clever staff. My mother with Alzheimer's has resided on the 3rd floor (Memory Care) at Sunrise for over a year. I cannot speak to the value of Sunrise's services since my father pays the bills. I am comfortable knowing my mom's physical and emotional needs are met with compassion, patience and humor here. There were quite a few issues with the initial transfer of care, medications and recording of vitals at first. The staff openly meets with family and speak candidly - one on one and genuinely like caring for the elderly. It takes HUGE effort to visit often and to personally interact with this large staff (which is a must - anywhere). You get back what you put into this. Participating is an investment. Sunrise encourages family to join residents for meals, go on field trips, bring pets for visits and even sleep over! There are issues too at Sunrise. Staff changes happen and upset the systems. Policy for paperwork depends on who you ask. "No-Salt" diets are close to impossible to adhere to (my mom still gets served potato chips) Urgh! Residents clothes go missing often (my mom's new favorite fuscha sweater came from someone else's closet). I'm told my mom curls up in bed at night with her roomate! Her missing eye glasses were found in a flower pot. Dementia is craziness. Sunrise's support group and staff have helped me to learn new ways to relate to and comfort my everchange mom. Dad visits at 4:30 to have dinner with Mom downstairs at the main dinning room / restaurant. Sunrise works nicely for us.

So far our experience with Sunrise at Huntcliff Summit has been a good one! It's a pleasant, homey feeling community, and that atmosphere goes a long way towards helping their residents settle in and feel at home. They were very helpful and patient during the touring process, as my parents were very reluctant about this sort of move. The facility itself is nice looking, clean, and located in a beautiful wooded area. There were no urine or strong chemical cleaning smells here either, which was nice. The pricing is also very reasonable compared to some other places we saw.

My wife and I were searching for a place for her mother to spend her remaining time in a comfortable, loving, and encouraging place. We were turned off by the hospital feel of some other (and much cheaper) places, but this one felt a lot more home-like. We debated a lot about Brighton Gardens and Sunrise Wayne. BG was a little less expensive and more convenient to get to for us. Today is move in day for my MIL. I sure hope she loves her new home. The staff and residents here seem very friendly and accommodating for her high level of needed care.

Trust me...Solana is wonderful "gift" for your loved one! The "NEW Solana"...now under Arbor Company... has it all. Mom has been there for a little over a year now. I have been through the ups/downs and sideways of the establishment of this facility...it is a little over a year old itself! I likely know all the previous folks who have commented. One thing is for sure...this management has a TRUE open door engagement with family members. NO concern will go unheeded. the new director has a picture of her smiling grandma that is placed on her desk for all the staff to see...inspiring the staff to continually strive to place that kind of a smile on ALL residents' faces! And trust me....they do! Whether the awesome nursing staff, engaging Brittany at the welcome desk or the support staff..food delivery staff...they all know, respect and shower love on her. Even the housekeeper tells me sometimes she stays a little longer in mom's room when mom is excited to chat with her. Only a truly caring staff provides the "extra" care we really want for our loved ones. As far as programs...they really try to sync up activities for each type of resident. They characterize them by "gem stones" ..ask them about this...Really nice empowering way to "meet them where they are at." The BIGGEST UNIQUE offering Solana has was MY key decision. Unlike all other facilities that have just an "assisted" section and "Alzheimer's section"...Solana built an -absolutely gorgeous- "transition section" called Bridges for those folks who are not fully able to be merely "assisted' and yet who are not in a state of much more need in Alzheimer's sections. Activities match them and keep them stimulated wherever they are in the most warm, safe and stylish space. I think it is an overall "win!" Please do yourself a favor and check it out for yourself.

Overall everything has gone very well at Sunrise, I'd give them high marks across the board! It's a nice looking, clean facility, and the staff have all been very friendly people to work with. The care and concern they show towards their residents really stands out, and you can tell they take great care of everyone!

I was looking for a place for my mom and had concerns about what I would be facing. From the moment we walked into Sunrise we felt very welcome and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and it wasn't forced. The residents also were content and were busy doing different activities. Mom got a nice studio apartment which we decorated with plenty of items from home. This was not an easy decision, I am in Kentucky and my brother and sister also live out of state, so I wanted to know mom was in a place where she would be safe and still have some sense of independence, Sunrise has provided that and we have peace of mind. The couple of times I have come up to visit mom has been upbeat and jokes around with both staff and other residents so I could not have made a better choice.

My loved one spent the last eight years of life there, well cared for and even loved by their outstanding staff. They are always responsive to the residents' needs, but just as important to me, they were responsive to the family's needs. Dementia is a lonely journey-both for the resident and the family; the support and guidance of the Emeritus staff made a tough time slightly easier. The comfort, care and love they provided my loved one will always be appreciated and never be forgotten.

We thank A Place For Mom in helping us find Sunrise of Westfield for my mom when the need arose. We don't think we could ever have found a nicer place for her to spend the remainder of her days. My mother had dementia and Sunrise offered a separate but lovely accommodation for those suffering memory impairment within the assisted living environment. The staff is wonderful, dedicated, professional and kind to everyone and we admired their patience and skill. My mother is gone now but my husband and I visit weekly now as volunteers so that should help you to understand how much we appreciate Sunrise and what they do there.

My father was treated with love and respect at Sunrise of Raleigh. I was very impressed with the number of activities planned throughout the day to keep him busy and engaged. The staff kept me informed of any changes in his health or behavior.

My Mom was in a nursing home previously. I feel she is much better cared for here. To specify her clothes are color coordinated, hair combed nicely, buttons properly lined up, even lipstick....she can do these herself but was not encouraged to do so at the former place. In addition the atmosphere at Sunrise Granite Run helps her to look forward to being outside of her room and look her best. The staff is friendly and caring and lets us know what she needs. She appears to look forward to her meals there and we were asked by the care manager up front what her favorite foods were. All this adds up to a better place for Mom and gives us peace of mind to know that she is being well cared for.

After comparing several assisted living facilities, we recently moved my parent into Sunrise at West Essex and we have only good things to say about the experience so far. The staff is exceptionally friendly, competent and caring. They have made a typically difficult transition much easier for us. The environment is comfortable, clean, and inviting. The atmosphere feels like your own home and the people there feel like your own family.

Every time I come to see her she is neat and clean, as is the room, and well tended to. So far we don't have any real concerns, or need for improvement. They were supposed to have a thirty day review that hasn't happened yet. Overall I am fairly happy with them, a four plus.

The staff was always very helpful, very friendly, very respectful of my mother and my family. I wasn't as impressed with the nursing staff. There were a couple of situations that I think could have been handled better. We wish there had been more activities on an intellectual level. Perhaps more guest speakers could have been brought in. It would have been nice if there had been more opportunities to make friends. Sitting with the same people 3 meals a day is hard. My mom loved having interesting conversations, but had a hard time finding like minded people.
