I think of all the assisted living facilities I've seen, this would be my top choice. I really like the ambiance which reminds me of a bed and breakfast, the studio apartments are spacious, and I also like the concept of designated case managers, life enrichment managers and the community pets.

They relied on or seemed to be busy until hospice would show up. If we did not have him on hospice he care would have been a 3. I felt like the carpets were always dirty in his room. As he was not mobile he could not pick up or move things. His tray table was dirty a lot . The dining room was clean. He lived in both sides. It was better then other places he stayed at shortly before his stay. Somethings they did well. Fir the most part the aides were kind. But definitely understaffed due to so many people wheelchair bound. We went a lot to keep a eye on things. They tried very hard, the nursing part was good. They did have events and they spoke very nice to residents. I think they just need more hands for the non mobile. If we didn't have hospice helping cause he was a heavy tall man help with self care. Hospice carried alot of that burden.

We chose Sunrise of Danville because it is very close to her house so she knew the location. Also the room has a beautiful view onto the garden and it is a very good size room. She loves to garden and so once we saw that room we knew this was the place. It is a mixed group of residents, so they have different physical and cognitive levels of care. Because of that , it does make it a bit harder to meet people. The activities are a bit basic and not as stimulating as she would like. She does get out though and like the music a lot. Overall we have been very pleased and we feel comfortable with her being here and we live out of state, so that says a lot. I would recommend Sunrise of Danville to others looking. We definitely feel that this is the best place for her.

They are really good people and they try, although they are often short staffed. Physical therapy and staff go above and they are awesome. They have activites, although my loved one does not particpate. Thought it was one of the best places for the money.
