Sunrise Senior Living

My brother and I toured 5 facilities in the area for our parents, one with physical frailty and the other dementia and a service dog. What impressed us most is that when we asked the other facilities which of their competitors they would recommend given our circumstances and budget, two of the five mentioned Stratford Court. We now understand why. Our parents, who have now both passed away, were treated with love and respect by the incredible staff at Stratford Court for which we are forever grateful. Meals were delivered to their room when missed, for example when our Dad had dialysis. When they were hospitalized or in rehab, aids would come to visit them on their days off, and when mom could no longer use a phone, staff would call us on their cell phones and put mom on the phone so we could speak with her or send us photos of her enjoying the entertainment or sitting outside. During the hurricane this past September staff lived in for several days and called us several times to let us know how mom was doing. Operations continued seamlessly, with no loss of power, air conditioning or personal services. Someone in management must be doing something right in hiring and maintaining staff of this caliber.

The atmosphere here is very relaxing and it didn’t feel at all claustrophobic. The setup is open and natural as far with people wandering around. It is not over crowded but it’s not under crowded as well. There is the assisted living area which basically mirrors the independent living area which I think is kind of cool. So one area doesn’t extend to the other, but it’s still in the same facility. They have their own dining room bistro area. The feeling here is a lot less sterile, there’s a good mix of people in my love one’s age group, they provide activities for the residents, and they also provide FREE underground parking. The apartment that we have is beautiful; it has a view of the canyon and the big mountain ranges. The gentlemen that gave us a tour is excellent. Overall, this place is a good fit for my love one. The process was also super easy because it really helps to speak with someone that actually has a clue to what they’re doing.

I toured this facility while looking for a place for my Mother. This community is wonderful and if I didn’t have to go across a lot of freeways I would have brought her here. This is a top-notch place and it doesn’t even cost as much as others. I really liked how the staff members treated all of the residents. They were kind to them. The marketing director who gave me the tour was friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend this facility to other families.

The staff members at this facility are top notch. They are very professional and really nice to my Mother before she passed away. It’s a well-run facility and my mom really liked it here. Not only are the staff members nice but the other residents are too. It is a very positive and bright community. The building itself is clean and well kept. My Mother really loved the view out of her apartment and often read books by her window. I would recommend this facility to other families.

I enjoyed my visit with [Removed]. She was very knowledgeable and pleasant, able to answer my questions. Was very pleased with the 2 bed/2 both independent living apartment and the fact there was a large outside terrace that would fit a table, chairs, planters and heated garage. Downside was there was no place to walk outside because of the location but daily organized activities and weekly organized outings makes up for it. Also, nice exercise facility on site and programs.

My family and I absolutely love this facility because they were exactly what my Father needed. They are a Godsend and we know he is safe here. The location here is nice and the neighborhood is good too. For activities, they have things like cards, games, and movie nights. I really like that he has a lot of other residents to talk to and the 3 meals a day is fabulous. I would highly recommend this facility to other families.

Very nice community.

Out of the two, my father-in-law was most comfortable with this facility and so were we. A homey place. It's nice to have a receptionist at the front, as well as a nice house pet. [Removed] gave us a complete tour and she also provided a good overview. The rooms were very nice. It was good to see a lot of folks in the common areas, of course we did go at lunch time. It is possible to walk to the bank and several places to eat. The in-town location was also favored by my father-in-law.

Sunrise at Five Forks is beautiful. The staff is friendly and loving, and the whole place has a warm, family feel. We look forward to getting our parents situated here very soon.

I did a lot of research and found Sunrise to be the very top of my list of facilities to tour and I was not disappointed. Several of my friends have placed their loved ones with Sunrise and were very happy with the services and loving care their parent received. The amenities are very well done and well appointed. It is a beautiful property, intimate, just the right ratio of staff and residents. The staff is exceptional. The price point is what I expected, further Sunrise offered the best community deposit rate. Sunrise offers both Assisted Living and Memory Care. They have a large variety of programs and outings for the residents. The menu options and food is very appealing, the food is quite good and they do make an effort to provide dishes and entrees that are pleasing to their residents and this age group. I did in fact place my parent at Sunrise. The suite my mother in law is in is quite spacious, each time I visit her, my parent's suite is immaculate. I always find her well coiffed and dressed to her personal standard of daily attire, she loves her bling. The staff is exceptional I am always greeted warmly and treated as if I am part of the family. A couple times a week, the facility will take the residents out on the bus for outings and adventures. They even offer dance classes; my Mother-in-law has been a dancer her whole life and even with dementia, she’s never forgotten a step. If there’s no program going on, the staff will dance with her and twirl her around the lobby. I’m happy with this facility and the care my family member is getting. I would absolutely recommend them and have already done so."

Always a warm welcome feeling at Sunrise communities

The atmosphere here is very comfortable. They are well staffed and really friendly. They are treated with respect. They offer great daily activities that mom enjoys. Everything is geared towards memory care like the bright colors the pictures on the walls have texture on them. The food is really nice and good. They provide snacks in between meals. It has a nice garden area. It is always clean and they wash all the residents clothes separately. I feel like my mom is very safe here. I would recommend this community.

[Removed]was extremely informative and a pleasure to have as our sales representative. The Sunrise is a very cozy, comfortable and homey place. It has a very welcoming feel and the staff was engaging to the residents. I wouldn’t hesitate to have my dad live there. It is convenient to get to. The cost is on the high side.

I would recommend this place to anybody. It is a very warm, friendly, and caring place. If I’m in St. Louis this is the place that I would like to be in. Compared to other places that I have seen, it actually feels more like a home than a facility. In the memory care area it is very secured. The residents can’t go on the elevators on that floor to wander. It is a nicely sized property with 3 floors. They also provided meals with good menus and good choices.

My Mom lives here and loves it. She’s adjusting very well and always doing crafts and giving me ceramics. I’ve watched her interacting with everyone, when she doesn’t know I’m there, and she’s always dancing and clapping and singing along. The staff has been very nice and I think they’re terrific. They all know her by name and the facility is kept very clean. The food is good, there’s a nice selection, and you can pick whatever you want. They already know what choices she’ll get in the morning and are good about anticipating her needs. They have a few activities like Zumba, yoga, and lower body exercises. They also have an outsourced physical therapy group that’s there and she can use them to work on her legs if needbe. They’re very on top of things and working together as a group. Anytime she has a problem, they’ll call me immediately for my own opinion on how to help her. They even call me before doing anything that might cause an additional charge. This really is the perfect place for her; she’s getting the attention she wants and needs. I would absolutely recommend them to others.

Overall this facility is very nice and staff has been great. The building is clean and when I visit it’s well maintained. I’ve eaten with my Husband once or twice and the food seems to be pretty good. They also have a lot of options including a healthy choice. His apartment is a one bedroom and it feels comfortable. However, my Husband has short-term memory loss and he is a lot younger than the other residents here. The other thing I don’t like is the staff doesn’t try to get him involved in daily activities. I would recommend this community to other families.

This place is fabulous. They have activities that really make the residents feel good, the people that work there are amazingly considerate and kind, and they’re very understanding. The facility is very clean and I’m impressed with it. When I’ve tried the food, it’s been very good. They have a wide selection on the menu so there are a lot of options to choose from. They provide daily exercise classes, games, bocce ball, group crosswords, bingo, entertainment, and movies. There’s a lot to participate in. They’ve even taken everyone to the opera and the theater. I think [Removed], the man that runs everything, is really on top of things. It’s hard to find good, caring people in this kind of industry but everyone here is very caring. I would recommend them to others.

We have had a great experience at Kyffin Grove with our Mom. I know some have had issues, but they seem to have ironed out some staffing problems and just did a lot of redecorating so it looks great. Any time we've had a problem, it has been addressed promptly. Overall, we're very happy.
