Sunrise Senior Living

My loved one is currently a resident at Sunrise of Shrewsbury and everything has been very good for her at this facility so far. The move in process was good, we had no problems. Communication with the family is great. The housekeeping is okay- as long as you request they will respond. The food is good, my loved one eats like a queen three times a day. I would absolutely recommend Sunrise of Shrewsbury to others!

This building has a very quaint, homey feel with professional and friendly staff. Lots of different types of activities are offered to keep residents busy and active. Physical, occupational, and speech therapy is also available to address any therapeutic/rehabilitative needs your loved one may require. Nurses and doctors in the building are very knowledgeable and hardworking to ensure your family member gets quality care.

I enjoy living at Sunrise of Fairfax because i have made new friends and I enjoy the activities and the care givers are especially attentive and kind. The food is absolutely delicious! I love the food and love that I do not have to cook or clean up after with the dishes!

We snuck in for a tour yesterday during Oktoberfest. Such a beautiful community. Our mom needs a respite stay after a discharge from [removed]. The amazing camaraderie amongst the visitors staff and residents was so much fun we decided to stay and eat. Very pleased with the information we received.

My sister and I toured several Assisted Living facilities in the DC area looking for a great place for our Mom. Sometimes sales folks guide you away from staff and residents, unintentional as it may be. When we toured Sunrise of Bluemont, the salesperson guided us to employees and engaged us all in discussion. Bluemont has one building offering a small, intimate AL setting which we particularly liked. The campus has a safe walking path around the 3 buildings. The apartments are a good size, there are several large old trees around the property and outside sitting areas. On our way out, we ran in to the bus driver and had a wonderful chat with her. She's been with Bluemont for many years and you can tell she clearly cares about the residents. We also had two residents approach us and tell us how wonderful the location and staff are. Ultimately we decided to move Mom to an entirely different city near one of us but kudos to Sunrise of Bluemont Park.

From our initial visit to month number two, we have nothing but positive things to say about Sunrise. Everything from the tour to meals to my mother's care has been excellent. My mom started to refer to Sunrise as home and it completely warmed our hearts. Thank you to the team at Sunrise!

I was very impressed with the amount of activities they offer and how many residents seemed to participate. The community was clean and the staff was friendly. I loved that they have a hair salon in house for mom. I did not stay for a meal, however the food looked great. I have toured quite a few other communities and would place this at the top of my list for a community for my parents.

My family and I visited several facilities with a focus on their memory care. It was the level of care we initially believed our loved one would require. Although each place had its merits, Hunter Mill stood above the rest. The memory care residents were engaged and active each time we were there. The surroundings were like being at home but with all the care your loved one might require. To me, that was a big plus. You didn’t feel like you were on a special ward, although the staff to resident ratio indicated a high level of individualized care.

My Dad is happy there. Everyone is so nice to him. I picked this community because there is no elevators, location, good food and most of all age in place.

Management & staff always very helpful. A warm caring atmosphere filled with light & updated common areas. Lovely outdoor areas as well. The concierge staff is top notch & a great asset to the community. Activities staff always keeping residents entertained & active!!

I was doing research for a family friend and visited Sunrise of Franklin Lakes. I was surprised after visiting a few different options in the area how warm and friendly every member of staff was. I had a very nice tour with a sales person and met some seniors living there. The building is very new and appears highly staffed, we ran into team members around every corner. The seniors there seemed well taken care of and were happy chatting at lunch when I visited. I highly recommended and would do so in the future for friends who need senior care. They are also pet friendly which is a big plus! Lots of nice outdoor spaces too. Great amenity spaces in memory care which I was touring.

wellness staff and nurses are very friendly. Helpful all the time, resident are always engaged in activities. Facility is clean all the time. I recommend this facility to prospective residents.

Community is very clean and well kept. All of the employees are kind and helpful.This was the closest Sunrise location to my home.

When it came time for my mother to have memory care due to advanced Alzheimer's, we began the search for facilities. One facility stood out among the others and our family settled on Sunrise Villa. The staff has been so wonderful through the process of moving my mother in. It is a big relief to know that she is being looked after by such caring and professional people. On the first day, we heard someone singing down the hall. It was a visitor playing piano and singing for the residents. My mother knew the tune right away and started singing along. I'm certain the first of many good memories to come. This has been a very emotional time for my family, but I'm so glad we had [name removed], [name removed], and [name removed] to help us through it.

Loved spending time yesterday and enjoying the party. Meeting so many residents and learning the reasons they moved to Sunrise is truly motivating me. Anyone need to buy a house? We danced, ate and had so much fun. It was like a big family gathering. Thank you Sunrise for opening your doors.

Once again I feel compelled to express the hospitality my friends and I received at the community open house yesterday. Oktoberfest was a huge success. Team members and residents were all active and engaged. The food!! Top notch. Warm apples and the the hot pretzels with spicy dip sauce. I could have eaten these alone for days. Thank you! When is the next party?

We were looking for a place for an elderly relative when sunrise, of Mountain Lakes was still being built. We moved her in as soon as they opened. That was about two years ago, and she is still happy. The staff is fantastic the services they provide her great the food is never a disappointment. We are so happy with Sunrise Mountain Lakes. We are currently moving my mom in as a resident.

I picked this community because it was close, and they waved $[removed] community move in fee. The experience has been great, it's just expensive. The interaction/communication with the staff has been good. I would recommend to others.

When I moved here everyone was friendly they tell me about their lives and I have told them about my life and the whole experience has been uplifting. I really enjoy living at Sunrise of Fairfax. I have lived at other places that didn't live up to what they said they would do but here at Sunrise of Fairfax they practice what they preach!

My parents moved into Sunrise Villa Tuckahoe 3 years ago. They have amazing staff that cared for my father before he passed away and continues to look after my mother. I am forever grateful for their kindness and dedication to the residents!
