Sunrise is a nice facility with a home like feel. The staff are friendly and the activity coordinator is great. It is a bit overpriced but the residents are happy and well taken care of. Which is all that really matters

From the very first day that we came to Sunrise of Mill Basin we were greeted by extremely friendly staff which still rings true. The staff is wonderful here

My mother had a fall at her home of 50 years and had to go to the hospital followed by rehab. We knew that she could not go back home and it was time to search for an Assisted Living, which was terrifying. I had visited many places and, ultimately, the team at Sunrise made us and mom feel at home. We met with [name removed] in Admissions, who put us at ease. He was kind, empathetic, and caring. He helped navigate this entire process with us, and we could not be more grateful. Other communities made us feel pressured and uncomfortable. My mother's care team continues to impress us with their skill, patients, and companionship. They seem to truly care about the residence. Anytime I have a question or need an update the nurses and [name removed] are quick to respond. The Director oversees a wonderful community. My family and I are greatful and happy with our choice.

Sunrise Vienna is a new modern facility in the city of Vienna, VA. We are very happy with the memory care director and staff. Residents are respected, supported, and given many social opportunities throughout the day.

Sunrise st Summit was a dream come true for our family. I can not think of one thing I would change. You are treated like family here. Don't bother looking elsewhere. Wonderful experience.

What I like the most about The Jefferson is the accessible activities and exercise, location with commerce, restaurants and Metro station, and interesting and accomplished residents. Big factor is being close to 2 daughters who live in different parts of Arlington.

From the charming front door decorations and fresh flowers, to the lovely lobby to the elegant stairway, the entry was inviting. And the cozy dining room size made it feel like "home". Everyone was welcoming and made visitors feel good.

If the family member has memory issues that are mild and don't require a locked unit, are they required to be in that unit for their entire stay? I found that one facility did and the other did not. This was a clear decision point for me as the locked unit definitely had a different environment and would have been detrimental to my family member's happiness. I would also look for a kitchenette in the room for family to prepare simple meals and have a refrigerator. Ask about the longevity of the staff and be mindful of how they interact with the residents. Look at the overall facilities for upkeep of the environment and areas. Are rugs and furniture clean and not worn? Ask if they can speak to current residents, too. I am very happy with the overall care of my family member at Sunrise of Norwood. She has gained weight (much needed) as the menu is flexible and she has options to choose from. Encouraging her to dine with others has also improved her mood. In addition, the support staff are wonderful. If there are problems in her room, one call and within 15 minutes they are there to help anything from locating the right channel on the TV to loaning a walker to defrosting a freezer. The residents also have a call button which they can use to summon help, it can be a pendant or a wrist worn one. All of the staff are welcoming and pleasant! There is also great outdoor space with a covered porch and patios. I am happy to recommend Sunrise of Norwood to others.

You can feel the warmth and homelike atmosphere as soon as you walk in the front doors of Sunrise at Madison. The staff is caring and energetic, and treat residents like their own family. Truly a gold standard community starting from the top down.

Overall a great community. Our sales director [name removed] did an outstanding job of understanding our mother's unique situation and set her up in a room with a location that could give her the enhanced care she required. The care managers and nursing staff have been absolutely wonderful and no request goes without a prompt response. [name removed] and [name removed] are there to answer any questions. The facilities are beautiful and the food exceptional. We are so grateful we found this place.

When you walk in you feel a HUG from the community and staff. Throw blankets to snuggle in the living room. Small and intimate where everyone knows your name. I love the overall feel. Activities are off the charts

My aunt has lived in Sunrise of Summit for 2 years. From day one, it felt like home. The people are fantastic - Miss [name removed] is especially outstanding with her kindness and thoughtfulness. We have attended many holiday themed family events and you can see how the staff really knows and cares about each individual resident. The place is spotless, and has the feeling more of an elegant home off the New England coast than an assisted living facility. We toured many before selecting Sunrise of Summit and the difference was night and day.

I am a visiting physician here at Sunrise. My elderly patients are very happy and well looked after. Atmosphere is very homely. Staff is very friendly and competent and responsive. Place is always spotless clean

My mother recently moved in to the colonnades and has received very personable care and a very warm welcome. She especially enjoys all the activities and the friendly people she has met. The sales team was excellent as well as all the support staff we have met so far.

My father really enjoyed Sunrise of Plymouth Beach mostly because of the friendliness of the staff members. Unfortunately he had to leave because he needed skilled care. Thank you for your service.

The staff seems to be happy, friendly, responsive. (They are not CNA's, and some additional training to help with my dad has been needed). The food is good, tasty, but the portions are smallish on the AL side (when my mom was there for respite). They are flexible with meals for my dad in regards to getting him to eat. The areas are kept clean, though sometimes the table in the activity/ family like room can be kind of sticky. I am not there everyday, but not sure how often things are sanitized. The cost, since the care is not done with CNA's, is a little high, in comparison to some of the newer places I think. Originally we thought my parents would be together, but they said my dad had to be in memory care. (Even though my mom would be living with him). So for a while we had my mom on the AL side in respite, and my dad in memory care. Other places have said since my mom is perfectly fine they could be on the AL side together.

This is a true community experience! Always something to get involved with. The food is extremely high quality and tasty too. I look forward to the daily activities, especially the movies. Ask and you get what you need. The staff is so friendly and accommodating and they make sure that everyone gets what they need. Highly recommend, five star!!

My overall experience is pure happiness! I love my apartment, the staff is so courteous. Everyone is so considerate and helpful. All in all it’s a wonderful environment. The activities are very interactive and community based. I give it five stars!!!

Sunrise of Paramus is set up more like a house than a hotel, which is quite nice. The facility is smaller so there aren't endlessly long hallways, which are not good for residents with dementia. My mom's apartment is situated just off of the central hub where everything happens. Families are given the access code to the Memory Care elevator so you don't have to wait for someone to let you in and out. The residents have access to an Outdoor sunny patio whenever they want to use it, and again they don't have to be buzzed in an out. The Director was very hands on and was incredibly helpful when my mom was admitted to Valley Hospital and when she transitioned to hospice care at Sunrise. All of the staff have a light in their eyes and are determined to provide great care for the residents. [Name removed], the sales person, helped to get an expedited check in directly from Valley Hospital to Sunrise which was incredibly helpful. Another staff member was very helpful in getting my mom's room set up with regards to safety and thinking about future equipment that might have to go into the room. Housekeeping is good, and the communication with the family is excellent. I would definitely recommend Sunrise of Paramus to others. Before, I was thinking that my mom was just going to bounce around to different places, but now I feel like she's found a home. This facility is a little bit more expensive, but my mom receives exponentially more and better care than she did at the previous facility that she was in.
