Brookdle Sterling Court is taking very good care of my Grandpa. The staff there really seem to care about the residents. They took the time to monitor his transition, how he was doing, how he was fitting in with other residents, making friends, and they would report to me. They went above and beyond. He had a non injury fall, and the staff does regular safety checks and found him pretty quickly. He is safe there. My Grandpa is not a big participater in activities, he did try the exercise classes, but he felt it wasn't beginner level and he couldn't catch up. The food is pretty decent, kind of bland. They puree his food for him and work around his dietary needs. He can go eat at any time, not a set time for meals. Overall I am really happy with this community. A Place For Mom made this process so much easier.

Stellar staff, great residents and nice, older well-kept units. We toured multiple communities, and Grossmont Gardens definitely had the friendliest feel. The only reason I gave 4.5 is the absence of organized cardio, e.g., morning group walks, and/or fitness center with cardio equipment. They do have chair exercise classes though.

My Mother has been at Grossmont Gardens for a week now and she is so happy. She loves the studio apartment she has that looks over two courtyards and she can listen to the birds all day. She is starting to make friends and go the to the planned activities and she says the food is good. So far, so good!

Overall facility and staff were wonderful. Karla, Laurie, Lisa in admin were particularly helpful in selecting a place for my parents. The room itself was large, cheerful and well kept and we were allowed to bring Mother's furniture. The nurses on the Vintage Club floor (sorry, I only remember Minerva's name and Diana ??-my bad) were caring and skillful and most of the CNA's were prompt when called and very gentle with Mother. The ONLY problem I noted and reported to the nurses in charge was one CNA that I found asleep TWICE the same night, even with a patient calling for help down the hall. My mother (Dad unfortunately passed before the transfer) had private help in addition to the facility's staff. Other patients may not have that option. I would have hated it if this person were responsible for my mother's care since she was not capable of calling for assistance on her own and he would not have heard her calling if she could over his snores. Mother passed after a few days but Grossmont Gardens was of enormous help in make her last few days comfortable for her and comforting for me. Thank you.

I toured alone and was so impressed that I brought my Pop to see and give an approval. He was in a Board and Care with 5 non social clients and had to share a bathroom. He seemed pleased with the size and features in his studio. I asked if he wanted his own furniture or to rent some . . . he wanted his own rather than waste money renting. After setting up quite a comfy place with his "stuff", he realized that he may never go home and this could BE his home . . . and he is grumpily digesting this reality. Stay tuned . . . . .

Our walk through was very nice I'd like to move there, but my daughter says it's over budget - you know - champagne taste and beer money. I'm very disappointed I can't just reserve a room and move in,

Grossmont Gardens has created a comfortable and safe network of care for its residents. The independent living apartments are upgraded and sparkling clean upon move-in. The staff are cheerful, caring and always ready serve. They provide an extensive "menu" of extra services from bathing help to medication delivery that keep their residents feeling secure. We are thankful for their faithful care of our dear friend.

This is a sister facility of the Emeritus my mom is in now. They charged about $1000 a month more which was unfortunate because the one in crown point is only 3 miles away from my house and a really nice place. We would have chosen this one but we couldn't afford the extra cost.

Seems like a nice place... there were a couple of hiccups. Some Medications were forgotten over the weekend. Room space is pretty tight. I am sure it takes awhile until you feel comfortable. Wish there was more than two baths a week. I would recommend to others.

Care services - There have been occasions when I have asked for a wellness check because I couldn't get a hold of the resident on her cell, and it took me calling back to get any news. A land line in the room did not seem to be much of an option two ago. The cost of minimum care beyond residency will be over [fee removed] in January. That is way too high of a cost for someone living independently and just needs a presence, in case of a fall, while they shower completely on their own. The resident pulled the emergency string in her room because her cell phone was not working and she could not walk. It took 30 minutes for someone to arrive. The staff could not have known what the emergency was so 30 minutes is shockingly long to respond. There had been a change in ownership to Grossmont Gardens, and the food service has significantly gone down hill. The choices are few, repetitive, and the service in the dining room can be painfully slow. Understaffing and high turnover seem to be a problem.

The quality of food is very poor. It's on older facility so sometimes the residents don't have hot water (this has happened twice since February- one time it lasted 10 days). The grounds are nice...lots of plants.

It has things that other communities don't have. It has a veteran flag room. Dinners are 5 star!

Overall experience. Overall a positive experience. My dad has been here 2 years now and is very happy having made good friends with other residents. Cleanliness. Facility is extremely clean and my dad's apartment is regularly tended to. He himself has some issues with refusing showers and care due to his dementia, but the staff work with me to address this when it happens. Friendliness of staff. The staff are all wonderful and have a great relationship with my dad. He loves the staff that work with him directly and they are the main reason we are staying at Sterling Court, even though it would be helpful to move him closer to where I live now. Care staff are very communicative with me and make sure I'm aware of all aspects of my dad's care. Quality of care. Quality of care is excellent, though my dad is at the max level of care that they can provide. With his dementia, being wheelchair bound, catheter dependence, etc, it is a lot to maintain and they do a great job. Meals/Dining. Food is good, my dad is happy with the options. I think there are fewer low-sugar / diabetic options than would be ideal, but my dad's dementia also means he isn't always making the best choices. Activities. My dad doesn't really participate (he's a bit stubborn), but I will say that the front desk ladies really try to get him to join in. I know there is a wide variety. We do enjoy the family/holiday celebrations! Value for Cost. Being at the highest care level it is a pricy monthly fee. I feel that the value is good and am satisfied with the care and attention that my dad receives.
The staff at Sterling Court at Roseville are good. There have been no problems that I know of. The cleanliness is good. My brother does most of the communication, as he lives nearby. The food is good. They just changed ownership and the pricing went up. I would recommend them to others.

I don't require medical care. I'm home-bound in my apt so I don't see the grounds or activities. Everyone I do see are very nice. Still having problems getting 1 meal a day delivered to me. ( after 18 months). Lots of staff turnover. But overall I'm happy here.

My mom was in Grossmont Gardens for a month until the house renovations were completed, and she's been home doing well, since leaving Grossmont Gardens a year ago. Friendly staff; available for questions & comments; clean facilities including spacious room, elevator, dining room.

Lower cost for value. Responsive when called or questioned. Food is unappealing to look at. Very little color in the dishes. One dinner cauliflower, chicken with a sauce (same color as cauliflower), and I think mashed potatoes? I remember thinking this whole dish is off-white. My Father in Law hates the food and asks for a hamburger everyday, which they supply, but probably not so good for him.

Grossmont Gardens is not the ideal place for [name removed] but none of the facilities that I toured are. Memory care facilities appear to be geared for patients with Alzheimers type dementia, not Lewy Body which I believe that [name removed] has. The activities do not challenge him and he is bored and frustrated. He has made numerous attempts to climb the wall surrounding the facility. The best feature of the facility is it's location. Convenient for me and his girls to visit him. I would recommend Grossmont Gardens. The caregivers are good and the activities are good for most of the residents. They bring in entertainment regularly and have events for family to attend
