Overall we are pleased. Nothing is like being home but after getting settled things are getting familiar. Not happy with the staff transition and turnover of employees but sadly that is everywhere in senior care. Need trash taken from rooms once a day and it has been every 3-4 days. Senior depends have not been distributed like we were told would be. Urine and feces are a major problem with residents and seeing them get up with wet pants from a chair should be more supervised by employees and made to clean up and change. It’s a job no one wants and I commend employees for doing so.

Mother has improved greatly since moving into The Hearth! We do wish she would make efforts to mingle much more, true to her nature she stays in her room most of the day. Confusing to us due to her desire to be with people. One of the things she disliked was being cooped up in her home with no one to talk to. She also has mentioned some dissatisfaction with the meals. I do not know if it is just her taste buds these days or something else. However, she is not a big eater. But her health and ability to get around have improved while in The Hearth. She was initially baffled by the fact that so many people greeted her by name! Such is the case when a new person enters a community. Overall, to date we are pleased with her stay.

My wife [name removed] and I were here for 1.5 years -- '07-'09 initially. She is now in Lk Orion R&R. I came back to Waterstone in 2011 knowing I would be comfortable here. Even so, in the 8 years that I have lived here I have noticed great improvement in most all aspects... management, food, entertainment, etc. I cannot give 5 stars below because I've never been to any other community, but I'm sure IVW would rate very high with any of the others.

Very nice community. The staff is great, nice selection of activities, and the food is good. The culture is very warm and inviting.

This is a nice facility. It is hard to rate memory care, as there are only 8 residents, and it was not possible to see more than a glance at care or activities. The independent living facilities are nice, but I had no opportunity to chat with any residents, and only with the staff member who gave me the tour.

VERY NICE well lit, Beautifully decorated, NEW spacious facility. Also does NOT take Medicaid but offer some of the same discounts as other facilities in the surrounding area. [Name removed] was very nice and friendly. Staff smiles and acknowledges your presence while you are there.

I have lived here happily for almost eight (8) years.

Staff is very kind and seems to really care about the residents. Dad has been very happy here and enjoys the activities and interacting with other residents. Good food!

This has been a great place to transition to out of my home. I came for two winters and decided to stay on after I recovered from a broken hip and didn't think I should be alone in my home.

Meets my needs since I can do most things for myself I really enjoy Independent Living

Staff and caregivers are extremely friendly and caring. They treat their residents with dignity no matter their age or situation. I especially love that they play music in the memory care area that is age appropriate (the 50s, 60s, and 70s), not older music. This is "their" music and I am sure it helps to spark memories.

This facility was very clean and very friendly staff. Location was in a very busy part of town and a growing community.

Very nice facility, but not thrilled with 1 bedroom options

Clean facility. Nice managers to work with. Parents have been living there over four years. However they have no internet pushed to all apartments. Been requesting for years but no go yet. Other facilities owed by the same company owed by Lincoln Square have it. Also they should offer two meals a day plans rather than the standard three built into the pricing. 75% of tenants do not attend breakfast. Those monies are a clear windfall for the corporate owners! Also surprised they have no practice tornado or fire drills. We observed one there one time and people were frantic and did not know what to do! Should have periodic safety drills.

Moved into the facility but had to leave as needs changed and assisted living was required. They could not provide a 2-person lift in AL.

The services we receive are very good. I love living here with my husband. Everyone is so kind and helpful.

[Name removed] and [name removed] were wonderful and gave us a great tour. It was clean and the residents were very pleasant and appeared well tended to. The apartments are nice and the grounds I am sure are beautiful in the summer. Overall we had a good experience. Staff was friendly and residents seemed to be talking to each other. The room sizes were adequate. It did seem a little dated and had a slight smell throughout the building.

Small, comfortable, clean community. Residents and staff were engaged and content.

Overall our family is very happy with Parkside. Dad is happy and that is 100% the most important part. We do feel there is a little confusion at times, but they are expanding and hiring so that is to be expected. The only negative, it understanding the health support for our dad. There was some confusion in the first week or so on medication, but we worked that out. We feel some of the nursing staff are very friendly, while others, not so much. The aides have been great. We approach this as we are a team working to make sure dad is well cared for, etc. Some of the nursing staff can seem unapproachable (or like why are you asking me that) at times. Again, they are expanding and it could be related to that. Food could be better and could be a little more like home cooking, but we understand they are cooking for a lot of people with varying needs. Dad is also used to traditional cooking. Overall, we are very happy with the move to Parkside Assisted Living. We recommend the facility.
