My loved one lived here for several years, and overall she really enjoyed the place. The staff was friendly and helpful and they had plenty of activities for residents. However, when we decided to move out, there was a massive miscommunication. When we signed the contract, we were originally told that they needed 30 days notice unless there was a medical issue, then 15 days would suffice. We gave 15 days notice when my loved one had to go to the hospital but then we were told the 15 days was from the date the apartment was empty. Since then, we have had the issue sorted out satisfactorily, but I think that other prospective residents should be aware of possible misunderstandings with this policy. Otherwise, the community is very nice, and my loved one enjoyed her time there.

My family toured this facility while looking for a place for my Dad. I loved the staff and the whole feel of the place. The building was kind of big, though, and I felt like if my Dad were to walk around, he would get lost. [Removed] were very helpful and were able to answer any questions we had. Something we liked was that they offered skilled care so if Dad became very ill, he’d be able to stay through the rest of his life. They had a lot of activities and even had an indoor pool. It was small, more so for physical therapy, but was also supervised so it felt safe. Ultimately, we had to choose somewhere else because the location was a bit too far for our needs.

My mom is here in the assisted living. The staff is friendly and she likes them. She loves all of the daily activities they offer. They give here 3 meals a day and she says the food is fair. It is very clean and has no odors. The courtyard are is nice and I would recommend this community.

With my father in law being here it’s been going just fine. The facility itself is pretty organized, they have good people working there, the staff is nice, and the food service is also nice. We did have an issue for a moment where the person cleaning his room was not taking out all of his trash and we voiced that to the management. After that it is no longer an issue. They also provide a lot of activities daily for the residents to participate in. I recommend this location to other families especially for veterans since they work very well with the VA.

I feel that the caring people at Storypoint have listened to our concerns and addressed several items and made some changes. The accounting staff responded as soon as they returned to the office and made the necessary corrections to my loved one's account information. The place is beautiful and a great place to live if you are unable to live alone. They also have very friendly staff here, which is so very important.

Well run and managed. Food service is needing attention and consistency but otherwise a quality location for a loved one.

The aids are excellent! The price is a bit high or I would have given 5 stars!

Clean, modern, beautiful facility. Medical Care Staff helpful, friendly, willing to talk and LISTEN to family regarding resident's well being and tips for care. Food excellent. Activities adequate. Memory care could be more intensively geared toward cognitive engagement. Administrative staff can be slow to respond to questions. Beware of pharmacy restrictions. $75 mo for using your own pharm. + additional $100 mo. for non-blister packed drugs. Exhorbitant cost for vitamins.

[Removed] the marketing person was fabulous. She was very caring and she listened to our needs. She talked me through the whole process. There was no sales pressure. The residents were super nice. It is private pay and don't accept medicaid. I just popped in here without an appointment and she was so accommodating.

Love the food and everyone is friendly and helpful.

The staff enjoyed talking with the patients and knew their names and interests. The facility was a little run down but welcoming.

My mom is here currently and everything is going good, I don’t really have any complaints. They have her in memory care and she seems to be happy. They take care of her and her room is clean, she’s clean, and she’s settled in. She’s safe and she’s got a nice room. I went there to visit with her a couple of times and she seems to be content. The staff seems to be good at redirecting her when needed and communicating with me and they’re all very thoughtful. The facility provides a few activities and there are things like physical therapy twice a week; there’s also a person that helps with her ability to speak and to remember. They gave her a bracelet for her wrist so she isn’t able to leave and in order to get in and out of the area that she’s in, you have to let the staff know you’re there. They’ve been really helping with preventing any fall risks as well, so the rooms are safe, even if there’s less in them. Overall, the people there all seem to be so doggone happy. The people at the front desk are always super and the lady that does her hair is great. Even the administration team that works with medicine has been great. I would recommend them.

A 14 person family reunion was held in the activity room, where our 97 year old father Eugene lives. Independence living staff catered the event. It was a huge success.

My mom and I toured here when we were looking for a place for my dad. It was a good facility but the price was a bit too much. The staff seemed pretty okay. The facility was clean and all of the things that we were looking for were there. They showed us the activity room but no one was there while we were touring so I don’t know what they provide, however they did give me a list to look over so there are things to do there. We wound up going with a different community because of the price.

After visiting other places in Grand Rapids mi. I knew the place was for me. The activities use help plan are wonderful and keep me active and alert. The other people here are fun and great to talk with.

The care is very good. They seem to be short of staff at times. Everyone is very kind and caring. The food is fine. Mom is a little picky and not a great eater but she seems satisfied with most selections. The facilities are clean and welcoming. There are many offerings for activities even though she hasn’t wanted to participate yet. I would definitely recommend this facility.

Excellent condition of facilities. Age in place range of services is very good. Highest pricing of the group.

We can depend on [removed] to clean our apartment on the scheduled time and day and do a fantastic job. She is always happy to do anything we may ask and is pleasant to be around. We feel we know her family even though we have never met them. We hope she can continue cleaning our apartment forever.

StoryPoint is perfect! My mom is very happy there. She’s in the enhanced living area and the facility is taking great care of her. The staff is easy to communicate with, provide great care, have been quick to help with concerns of ours, and they’ve really been wonderful with her. The food is awesome here! There’s a small dining room with so many choices on the menu at mealtimes, and the tables always have flowers. We were worried she wouldn’t be able to find her way around, so someone helped her for a few days, and now she knows where everything is! The facility is very clean. Someone comes in daily to empty the waste baskets, they sweep up, and if there are dishes in the sink, they’ll actually do them. Every two weeks they do a thorough cleaning. There are tons of activities like all different types of exercise classes, music, dominoes, bingo, bible studies, and they even have a movie theater and a little art area for classes. They offer tons of options for the visiting families too –a bistro, a coffee shop; there is also a library and small store. They’ll have special lunch events too, some just for ladies, and some just for men. We checked out other places that were similar in price and StoryPoint just had so much more to offer! You can’t beat the price for the things you get. I absolutely recommend it here!
