I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. The community was very clean. The community tried their best to care for my loved one; however, in today's world it can be hard to find qualified caregivers. The food was pretty good and the community did group dining in the dining room.

When it came time to move mom we looked and looked. Glen Abbey turned out to be the right choice. Mom has been here about nine weeks and she said "it feels like home" several times. Everyone is friendly, great activities, great food, and overall a great choice for us.

Care is excellent throughout the week but decreased a little on weekends, especially with staff shortages. Management of facility is excellent and all requests are met quickly. I toured this facility and really liked it, they were actually my first choice. It's a fairly new facility. Very clean. Staff was friendly. However, after the assessment they said they couldn't provide the level of care that my loved one needed. So we continued with our search. But I really liked this place!

We found that the food is good and healthy, for our loved resident. The staff is very kind and caring, but seems to turn over at frequent intervals, and not all positions are filled. The staff seems to know each resident personally, and tries very hard to provide a pleasant experience for all folks who are living there, with benefits including small animal visits, a Happy Hour event, frequent trips to cultural and entertainment venues. Previously, shopping trips were offered, but right now, the status of that part of the living experience is in question. We occasionally have questions about the follow-through by the medical staff, regarding blood-sugar testing, insulin administration, and changes in prescription drug requirements. This is most likely caused by a shortage of trained, certified medical CNAs, RNs, and the contracted medical service.
