Friendly community. Food is good. Plenty of things to do.

Like it very much

From the beginning of walking in the door is a welcoming environment, [name removed] is great! So cheerful and helpful. She is the first impression which so important and she listens and communicates to others well. My father, [name removed] enjoys the people who always say hi and call him by name. He enjoys the food most of the time, many changes with Covid and buffets but he eats e3ll and likes the variety. My father has been happy working with physical therapy and occupational therapy, He appreciates offers to other things but tends to only try things a little at a time.

My sister is happy and content at Independence Village

After a illness that my father encounter in late 2020, my father was unable to regain his strength and could not walk on his own. He was ordered to under go therapy for 45 days at a facility where he was isolated from our family. He was transferred to White Lake Assisted Living where his care was greatly improved. The environment there is like an upscale hotel where residents have their own rooms and bathrooms. We noticed his personal hygiene improved greatly in comparison to the last place. The staff was very friendly and inter active to his needs and our requests to visit. Their management team is on top of the needs of the residents. The dinning areas are very clean and pleasant to be in. The cleaning staff keeps the rooms clean and fresh smelling and provides laundry services as well. There are activities for the residents through out the week to keep them engaged with other people. I see the nursing staff to be very caring and attentive to the residents needs. I am thankful...

I like how clean it is here. The food is okay. I love how I have privacy.

I love being with people because my family is all long distance. I really like that we get to choose our menu for lunch, the food is very good. Bingo classes are so much fun, excites to go to exercise class and the bible group.

Well managed safe, staff well trained, and knowledgeable

I don't tend to give 5-star ratings, as there's always room for improvement. But I would 100% recommend StoryPoint as a place for anyone to have their family member live in an independent living capacity. It's warm and inviting. The staff seem to care about the residents. There has been an ownership change recently, and I think that there's a little bit of disorganization that has come along with that. But as a space for what they offer and give the residents, I'm really impressed. The staff are very friendly, and my dad raves about them. From the front desk, to the kitchen, to the custodial staff, everyone I've interacted with has been very friendly. The food that I tried was good, and my dad says it's good as well, other than some supply chain issues here and there. I see activities posted in the elevator, and it seems like they have some really fun things and a range of activities. Recently they had a hayride with a Clydesdale horse and some live music outside. There are a few areas where they could use improvement. The common areas are very clean, but my loved one hasn't had anyone come in to clean his space since he moved in, and they're supposed to come every other week. I know they're having staffing issues, here as well as throughout the industry in general. So I try to be cognizant of that. But there's also been no communication about it. Their billing and communication could definitely use improvement. I'm not getting communication from them unless I actively ask for it. But all in all, there's nothing that would preclude anyone considering putting a loved one here vs elsewhere.

We brought my 95 year old mother, who needed memory care. The process was good, the place is very lovely, and the staff is well qualified and the young caregivers are kind and genuinely care for the residents. Like all facilities at this time, nothing is perfect, good help is scarce, but in all I think I am happy I brought my mother here, and I know she is safe and cared for. The staff is friendly, and I found one staff member who is a relative of a friend, and said working there was a pleasure and was very happy with the job.

Our family had an in person tour and they had some construction going on and we did see brand new renovated rooms but it seemed like they were just thrown together haphazardly. They were not as big as we thought being newly renovated and it was just not what we were looking for.

This community was our second choice pick for our loved one. There were just other things that out shined with the community that was number one and we just had to go with that one.

Our cooperative community with partnering with Independence Village. I have been impressed with the staff of this community and believe this partnership with Vintage of Ames will be a very positive venture.

This is a good community and there are people around all the time. There are a lot of choices on the menus for all of the meals. There is also a huge variety of apartment styles to give the residents different choices to pick from.

The food is great here. I don't feel alone, I enjoy living here. I always have something fun to do.

Heritage Hill is an amazing place for your loved one to live. The staff are genuine in their care and enjoy what they do. They make Heritage Hill feel like a home to the residents and their families. The many activities they do with the residents are fun and enjoyable.

I liked Pinebrook, except I thought the facilities needed serious updating. Also, the rooms just seemed small, with very low ceilings. And I'm not even a very tall person!

We ended up touring there twice for two different family members. I liked it a lot. It seemed clean and bright, and there were places for activities. A couple of the residents approached us and said they were very happy with it. I also liked that they offered three meals a day, and they boasted a chef.

I have lived in this community since it opened in 2015. Am still pleased with convenient location and services offered. We're not perfect - especially since COVID has made hiring employees difficult - but staff has kept us SAFE, well fed, and entertained. We are family!

I like the independecy. I really like the staff I get along with all the staff. I get mostly everything I ask for. I like the size of the rooms. Everyone has their own bathrooms. It feels like home.
