A stroke my friend had in late March, led me to start looking for a new home and help. She was dealing with the neurological and emotional effects of Parkinson's and I needed assistance as well. Went looking for a pleasant location with large, comfortable rooms (to avoid that closed in feeling) and lots of help. Glen Abbey has provided all that and more for each of us. We look out on flowers in a colorful court while the opposite side offers an expanse of green trees, grasses and sky. Whats best is the kindness of staff and care given to us by caregivers. We are greeted each day with smiles and sunshine. Everyone knows us by name, understands what we need, chats with us and tries to see if we are content. GA may not be perfect but has given us peace and support after living through months of this pandemic.

1. Meals are rated # 1 with me and service is always with a smile 2. Cleaning after every other week 3. Staff come and make bed once a week 4. Front desk always available to call someone for assistance. 5. Other residents are very friendly and helpful 6. There is maintenance service whenever something needs upkeep or help. 7. There are many opportunities to socialize, happy hours, concerts, special events to celebrate. 8. There is always time for games and cards to play.

My daughter found my apartment online. She and my son-in-law toured the apartment studio size which was larger than my previous one bedroom apartment downstate! I was able to have my things moved in after giving my 30 day notice at my previous location.

Being in the village is like living in a luxury hotel. Delicious meals, cleaning your room, doing your laundry, providing entertainment, exercise and games. Taking away that loneliness of old age. The best is allowing you to take your furry friend with you!

Staff is consistently friendly and competent. Quick to respond and attentive to needs and requests. Always thoughtful and considerate.

Food is good well prepared.

I get meals a day and have leftovers. They have a window and porch looking west apartment and on the south side my sight gets worse. I can still watch a little t.v., pick up some breakfast and juice and items until my vision gets worse.

I did not want to live with either of my children so after much research I chose Independence Village. I am very happy with my choice. I really like my apartment, the staff, the food, the programs and also my neighbor residents. I am happy here.

After 1.5 years down state in a different assisted living place I moved up north to a bigger studio apartment with a great view compared to the smaller one bedroom apartment with smaller window and a limited view. This location is much better. I was able to move in after my 30 day notice. No problems!

My mom recently had to transition to assisted living very abruptly. The staff at meadow lake have been so incredibly kind, compassionate, and caring. They made a stressful situation so much easier with detailed information, flexibility, and a helping hand.

Creekside is at the top of the list of places I've lived. I am so thankful to live in my lovely 1 bedroom apartment with a nice patio that looks out at our well-cared-for courtyard with scrubs and flowers. Management is so friendly and helpful. The welcome home ballon on my door was right on target. The residents are very friendly and i feel so blessed.

I like the people here. They are helpful to one another. I like the people that live and work here. She loves the community bus trips. They do a good job with the food here.

My family has been very pleased with the care our mother receives at the Grand Ledge Independence Village. She spent five years in the independent living section which worked well for her. It was good to know she would have her dinners in the dining room each night and still be able to continue her love of cooking in her own apartment. There were many activities which made it easy for her to make friends. The past two years she has been in the Harbors area where she has enhanced living. The staff helped make the move as easy as possible for her. She often says she feels very safe there and feels like the people sincerely care about her. The director has always been extremely helpful when I had any questions or concerns.

Our first impression of this community was very good. It was strongly recommended to us from another family member which lead us to check it out. The apartments are minimally appointment but you can add whatever you would like to them and it has all the necessary things you may need.

I have lived in IV Aurora for 4 years. I enjoy playing cards with my friends. I really like the Latin dance class - it gets us moving! The caregivers are very helpful and compassionate.
