Everyone here is very pleasant and helpful. They take every effort to ensure safety and look out for the residents. However, I think activities are planned with the older residents in mind and not much for the very mobile and more active residents. Food is very good and there is plenty of it. Overall a good place but a little pricey for private payers, though management does try to help out with finances

My family and mom are very pleased with Las Colinas. Finding an appropriate independent living community in my mom's price range was overwhelming. I toured a number facilities in Albuquerque. One piece of advice is not to be mislead by fancy marketing brochures or facilities. The critical consideration is their commitment to service and culture. Pop-in unexpected. Interact with as many staff as possible beyond the marketing rep. Stop and talk with the events coordinator, cooks, housekeepers, front desk and maintenance staff to get a feel of their service commitment. Ask about the average tenure of staff and turnover rate. Many places talk a good game, but when you cut through the talk, they are more focused about occupancy, stacking costs per services and avoiding legal liability. At Las Colinas, their newest staff member had been their 7 years. They also require all employees to provide value-added team services to residents such as free dog walking. All staff is courteous, helpful and friendly. They enjoy their work and it is reflected in everything - food, housekeeping, events and services. After my tour, Las Colinas immediately sent my mom a get well card and scheduled an assessment at my mother's rehabilitation facility. They stressed being a right fit to meet my mom's needs. As my mom is 66, they made sure that she met residents her age and younger. Las Colinas also provide great information about community resources. Their culture was reflected in their lease agreement, pricing structure and maintenance of their facility.

Compared to living conditions for Assisted on the East Coast, this place is spectacular! Most importantly, the building and everything in it is well thought out and built specifically with patients in mind. The doorways are wheelchair wide, the showers made for invalids, the apartments are huge, literally everything with them in mind (even the carpet). It is immaculately kept clean and the staff are outstandingly helpful and friendly. They have activities planned daily, plus a game room, a library, and a large pool. I can't praise the food enough (in the assisted living dining quarters). It was that of a five star restaurant. I searched and searched for something wrong and couldn't find it. Perhaps the ONE and only drawback is it's sheer size. However, this is because it is so well planned for every conceivable "needs" situation. It's not over priced and I found no hidden costs. A MUST see to believe.

My loved one was only here a short time, but they did a great job during her stay. The employees were all very friendly and did a great job of making both the residents and the families feel welcome and comfortable. The one complaint I'd have is that the food could have been better. The salad bar in particular could have used some vegetables other than just iceburg lettuce.

My loved one is doing very well here! The activities are really good, and there are a lot of them! The menu is not as extensive as I thought it was to begin with. There's not a whole lot of variety. However, the staff are all very friendly and helpful! They are very attentive as well. Everything is very clean here and my loved one is settling in very well!

So far, things have been going very well here. My loved one hasn't been here too long, so things are still new, but it's been going well. The activities do not really apply right now, and I have nothing to compare them to, but the place is very clean and the staff are all very friendly. So far, we have been very satisfied!

It's a great place, she likes it quite a bit. It's pretty expensive, buy they were able to work with us on price. The food is great, the people are all really nice they take care of maintenance immediately, the grounds are beautiful. They not only allow dogs but they also have free dog walking services. They are pretty immediate in responding to anything that needs attention. They check on them regularly. They have been very helpful, and it's been a lot better than we anticipated. They have activities and stuff going on all the time, they even had a live band come in. The apartment is really nice.

We found the facility to be very, very nice. The Director, Kelly came to our table and talked at length about what they offer and how to go about getting what we need. We met with the personal and did not find one person who was not totally committed to their jobs and the health and welfare of their residence. It is a very modern, clean, and the staff are very helpful in seeing you get what you need. There is always things not quite right in all organizations and will probably find some here, but as of the first weeks of being there it is a God's send for the help and info that we received and all the help we received with insurance. They took care of most all things.

Upon visiting las colinas, I was impressed with the overall comfort of the entire location. This includes the staff, activities, cleanliness, and more especially, the residence smiles. The location is opposite part of town for me. I left feeling that my mom will be taken care of and her comfort of life will be high for her. Distance was not a factor anymore. She has earned this level of living.

They were so accommodating and nice. They were more money and I was worried my mother would worry about her budget but now I wish I had chosen them. They had a hospitality type room and if mom's room wasn't ready yet she could stay there for free because she was moving in. If I could get my mother to move I would. The food was a huge difference. There was a lady sitting there after hours and she had a sandwich with fresh cut fruit. It looked like something I would eat. If it's within the hours that they serve food then you'll get food. Instead of being super regimented like some other places, this is like being at a restaurant.

Thunderbird is pretty good. I think it suites my mom in in almost every way she needs. I was important to her to have something that would be a good social environment. She loves playing cards, board games and other games like bingo as well. It's an older facility but it's kept up well. I think it's probably an average value. The care is fairly good. The one down side that she has run into is that she's not very thrilled with the food from the dining facility . She's rather pick I guess. She have been various things wrong. The meat might be tough or the meal might be cold or certain things aren't available. She has a good apartment. She's paying a little bit of a premium for the first floor and to be near the middle of the place. It's working out well.

The staff at Granite Gate have been both sensitive and pro-active to the needs of my mother. I had a most recent experience where my mother was confused and calling me on the telephone. She was both upset and embarrassed trying to find an insurance card for a flu vaccination. I called the front desk and the activities director, Anne-Marie, asked for my mother's room number and not only went directly to my mother but; according to my mom let her be first in line due to her multiple trips to get the vaccine. The evening caregiver, Jeff, has made an outstanding effort to try and surprise my mother with different juices to get her evening medications down. He has taken the extra time to monitor my mother's ankles due to swelling and noting the findings in her file.

The people are great! They are willing to help you in way possible. What makes this place is the people. My aunt ended up getting stuck in rehab for four extra days. I came down from Long Island, the people at “Las Colinas Village” let me and my sister live their for the four days and they treated us wonderful, they even fed us. Las Colinas is willing to bend over backwards to do anything that will help you to be as comfortable as possible and they wont even take a tip from you for their help, believe me I tried. My aunts room needed shelves the maintenance man came in and put them up without any pushback, they are winding the door to accommodate my aunts wheelchair, and since the room is a bit bright for my aunt they are even putting up extra curtains. Everyone that I spoke to who visited other arrears all said that “Las Colinas” is the best no other place compares’. Added bonus “Las Colinas” also had some of the best pricing. Only thing is it’s in an industrial neighborhood, I wish they had more property for a small park so the people can at least go and walk around.

Overall we're pretty happy with it. They are consistently short-staffed; the dining room moves slowly. No real complaints beyond that. I would recommend to others.

Entire staff at GG were fantastic. Easy to work with. Still keep in touch with [name removed]. Care staff were all great. Might add individual housekeeping could've been better. But I know it's an ongoing battle, Attention to detail like making sure they have water,, etc. My Mom was only there a month, She has no recollection of it.

Compared to other facilities that I have toured, this is the nicest. Rooms were spacious. Eating facilities and menus looked great. Location was nice since it is not on a busy street. I only gave it 4 stars because of the lack of workout equipment. Other facilities have rooms with treadmills, rowing machines, free weights etc. Lincoln court said they had a few machine but they could only be used if you were on some program (implying rehab use only and therefore usage for a limited period of time).

The residents seem happier than the previous facility my dad was in. They're more social. My dad was in [community removed]for five months. In that time, only one person learned his name and spoke to him regularly, but that was just on passing. The man seemed fascinated that my dad had driven 3 million miles as a trucker. He has been at Winslow Court since the end of December. He has made several friends, and has even been gardening with one of them. It's a totally different atmosphere. At WC, the residents aren't treated like just a commodity. They are valued as people.

There is new management as ownership has changed hands. There should be improvements in the dining experience as they are remodeling the kitchen. Hopefully they will continue with the quality of care and friendliness. I hope the new administrative staff will be good for the employees as well as residents.

It's a nice facility with beautiful grounds for walking or just sitting and taking in nature. Lots of amenities offered, with a variety of activities for everyone. The Friday afternoon happy hour with entertainment is also a fun event. The dining room offers a variety of meals. The facility does need some updating, but was told that will come with time.

[name removed] was very nice and very enthusiastic about this community. I definitely will be asking to set up another Tour to bring my stepdaughter‘s and my brother to visit the facility.
