I would tell others that I have been dissatisfied with the nursing staff, handling of medications, the food, it is just not a good experience. The administrative staff has changed twice since being here, the ones here now are better than the ones before. I would not recommend to others looking

Not a good place

I would advise you to look elsewhere. The community does not take care of its residence, and they were not doing what they should have been. I would not recommend this community for memory care.

I would never put anybody here, we did not have a good experience. We put cameras in her room because my mom kept telling us things like that she did not need help. The food was awful quality. We were paying for extra services and the caregivers were not giving her those services. I would not recommend to other families who are looking.

No security in the independent living building. Door to the outside pool stays unlocked until 9pm with easy to climb over low wall to get to pool area and door. While I was visiting for 4 nights, it was not locked even after 9. The one person who is at the desk is rarely there at night..either taking up room service, delivering mail if behind doing so, responding to requests....all while people can enter the main entrance and walk on in until the door locks at 9. Stairway not locked .no cameras in garage and it’s not enclosed and right off busy highway. My parent recently moved in and they go out a lot and have to come back in the garage alone. One front desk lady brings her 4 kids to work and let’s them run through the place, climb all over and walk in the bar stools and etc. They’re not oaying the crazy high rent here but mom let’s them do anything they want wherever they want.

Not excited about Brookdale. Clients in Memory Care all seemed to be very unresponsive to activities. I was not impressed with the atmosphere or the odors.

telcon 6.21.17. at the moment, independent living only but has separate company on site that can provide add'l care; also, a doctor is on site once a week - can be primary physician. 1 br about 600 sq ft - 3 meals, monthly cost between 2600-2800.

I thought the rooms were small and the facility a bit dated

The community was very nice. Brooke the lady that gave us the tour was nice and super helpful and friendly. The residents were not even dressed to go to lunch and I did like that. The place just did not give the good impression.

This community is nice and clean. I was not always happy with the staff members here. They did offer activities to those who wanted to participate to stay active. I think family should look at the community before making a decision .

A lot of things were promised when we were interviewed but. Not as nice now as they started out being. Nurses messed up medicine. Gave my family wrong Meds even after they told them it was wrong. Finally convinced them not theirs. They never want u to complain and threaten u with extra fees if u argue with them. They tell u one thing then change at there discretion. The food is always the same. Need to change it. I don't trust them. They changed my family members Meds without doctors permission messed them up. Now they r 2 months behind on their treatment. Just beware. Ask questions. They work for us not u for them. Medicare told us not to put up with it and report them. Hopefully things get better.

We were only there for a short time, before we decided to move. She wasn't happy there. She had major complaints about the food. They would only get sandwiches at night, and they were pretty bad. They said more people would be moving in, and people seemed to leave instead. They didn't do hardly any of the activities, and there weren't really very many socializing opportunities. For what they were charging, it just didn't seem worth it.

We placed my mother in law in the memory care unit recently. We were not happy with the care received and moved her to another facility after about 6 weeks. The marketing person made it sound wonderful but the reality is it is a warehouse for old folks. My main issue with this facility is that it lacks proper supervision of the caretakers that work here. Each time I visited, the residents were all sitting around the living room area and the caretakers were in another room talking to each other. There was never anyone at the nurses station which sits in the middle of the unit for viewing the entire operation. Lack of communication was another big issue. One day we noticed a big bump and scratch on Moms forehead and asked what happened. No one knew when or how it happened. We got answers like "it didn't happen on my shift." Apparently, there is little or no communication between the shifts. So we sat down with the administration to discuss these issues and we were promised a weekly call to discuss Moms progress. Well, guess what....the first weekly call was not made to us. Each time we would visit mom either did not have her glasses or false teeth. When we asked about them they had a bag full of glasses & teeth for us to look through. We found her glasses but she left this facility without her false teeth & they were never found. The doctor ordered compression socks for mom. When we asked why they were not put on mom, the staff said "she said no" and because of "Patients Rights", they could not put them on her. Seems like they hide behind "Patients Rights" to make their jobs easier. Bottom line, look for another facility for your loved one....you will pay more, but the care will be better.

We have had a few years experience with the community, both with their assisted living as well as memory care, and overall I'd our experience was not a great one. Things went well for the first year that our loved ones were here, but in the years following that there seemed to be a steady decline in the quality of the care and service. The care in the memory unit was not very attentive or responsive, and after a health scare that could easily have been dealt with proactively we moved our loved one to a different community.

I had an appointment scheduled at 5pm on Tuesday July 1st. I arrived about 4:45pm. Amber at the reception desk was unaware of the appointment, but called back to Lisa Swafford. Apparently, Lisa had 'needed to leave' and Amber was not sure when she would be back. She gave me a packet of information and took my contact numbers for Lisa to call me first thing today. I have not heard from Lisa or anyone from the Villas at this point. It is 1:15pm. It is an attractive environment. The menu looked limited to me, unless there is a larger 'always available' menu. Lots of construction going on as well. Will look over the brochure tonight. I am giving 2 stars because I have no idea what the community offers as I did not tour it.

For regular assisted living facility they’re okay, but for memory care they suck. Their primary interest is money. For memory care the food … they just bring it out, set it down, and hope people eat it. The parking is okay. The medication management was not good.

The communication is terrible, there is no communication between the managers and the workers. In other words, I will go to the director of nursing saying things need to be done and they put it in their little computer and I go to the workers and they say they've never heard anything about it. I know personally from my loved ones room, I walk in there and his pajamas are on the chair, they're dirty, the sheets that are wet from the night before are on the chair, trash is not picked up like I was told it would be. My loved one is still there and I'm hoping things will improive, everytime I move them it seems liek things will take a turn for the worse. I tell them to not ask my loved one if they want to go eat, just go ahead and take them there, that's another thing they told me they would do and aren't. I went there specifically because it was a nice looking facility and they had good activities but it's not what I thought it would be.

It looks great, is clean, and is affordable. I believe the assisted living part would be a good place for independent living, but be very cautious about choosing it if you or a loved one needs assistance. It was usually difficult to find anyone to help after the office staff left at 5:00. The dining hours are limited, and the staff in the dining room is as well. The receptionists were always friendly and welcoming. The nursing office staff was adequate. We felt the management and resident assistants however were unfriendly, and uncaring. Calls for help in the room were not always answered, and when they were, the staff showed up late and sometimes acted indignant. We had enough disappointing experiences there that it prompted us to leave for fear of injury and neglect.

One brief tour and I was out of there. The staff lives for FOX News and has every television set on it. I certainly don't want to expose my parent to a daily dose of brainwashing in his final years.

My brother and sister in law toured this community while I was looking at others. They felt this was not an option at all for our mother it had too much of a nursing home feel and environment too it. It was not appealing to them.
