Spring Hills

It appears to be clean. The staff is friendly. They’re expensive, but I like it. It’s a smaller and more homey. I like it better than some. Their communication could be better. It’s a good community for someone. It’s cozy.

I liked the fact that I saw residents doing things - very active activities personnel. Nice gardening plots, nice patio furniture, nice nooks for sitting throughout,nice staff members, enjoyed seeing pictures of residents with staff and family. Nice clean rooms, freshly painted, new carpet. negatives: faint smell of pine sol, location a little out of the way for kids sports, school activities (though is close to MIL - so could combine visits), costs still a concern.

So far my mother is adjusting. The staff has been very friendly and has made her feel at home. Only concern that I have, is that they only do the laundry once a week. I also feel she should be bathed more. I intend on and addressing that with them.

It's going fine. They are very clean. I think all of the senior care options are too expensive, but compared to others I think it's very good in value. They seem to have a lot of activities going on. The food is pretty good. We are very satisfied with Spring Hills.

This was a very nice facility, but I did not want to travel to Mt. Vernon. It would be very hard to get back on Rt. 1 South depending on the time.

We really liked the look of this place when we were looking into options for Mom. We know Mom would have a difficult time transitioning to assisted living, but this place was very nice looking and we feel like it would have worked out well. We selected another community, but this one was definitely in our top 3.

My loved one is doing great here, and it has made me feel so much better! The people are warm and kind, and I love how her living arrangement feels more like a home than an "institution". She's eating well, and the staff have been very good to her. They do have some room for improvment, but who doesn't? I've had what I feel are some less than friendly interactions with the staff, and we had to call in some help on one occasion for a problem we think they should have noticed before we did. Overall we're very happy with it, though!

This was beautiful, but there were a lot of steps and my dad had been on a walker, unsteadily, and he ended up breaking his arm where he was before so he was in a wheelchair. They had ramps but with the steps we were afraid of him falling. It was nice, but it wasn't right for him.

Overall, i think they're clean, but at the same time I think they could use some updating. It's not really that they're not clean, but you go in the elevator and it's just old. The areas that are seen by peope more often are defintiely better taken care of, it's more of behind the scene stuff. A thing that's sort of annoying is they don't have an electronic door to get in, like a handicapped accessible door. The nursing care is very, very good, if I could give higher than a five I would, especially their Director of Nursing is really, really good, i like her a lot and they would be in a lot of trouble if they lost her. They have two different facilities there, one is called the Cottages and I believe that's their memory impared group so they'll take their memory folks on scenic drives and do other things outside the facility but in general they don't take them out, even for shopping, the may have 1 or 2 lunches out a month and the activites there seem to be a little too repetitive week to week. In addition to Carolyn being there most of the time they also have an RN whose job is to be at the facility all the time and that really makes a huge difference. They really know their patients and know how to make them happy and relaxed. Because of that my mom's blood sugar's better and she actually tells them when she does something she shouldn't have because she doens't feel liek she's going to get in trouble. They treat the residents with dignity, they don't forget that they're people.

Took a tour of this one. Dad loved this one, but outside his budget. Accepts dogs.

Lunch/toured with Sajet Patel. Beautiful property, lots of activities, good meal/menu, decent sized units. Overall impression - this would be a great place for mom & dad; can they afford it?

Mother is really impressed with the visit. We have been informed that old family friends are now residing at your facility. Mother was interested in a place with more room, we will probably look into the Cottages of Clayton. She wants to remain independent as long as possible, doing her own laundry and preparing her meals, she said she would not be happy living in one big room.

My visit was extremely plesant. Very informative. I was impressed with the environment.

It's a nice place. I didn't quite understand the monetary aspect at first. I didn't realize that if my loved one needed more help, it was going to cost more money. Overall I thought assisted living meant she would be assisted with her daily living more than she is. I put her in there because she has dementia. She can take care of her bodily needs, but she can't remember where things are - her clothes, purse, eye glasses, etc. And she's more or less on her own with those things. But the administrative staff is very good. They're transparent, and they communicate very well. They're very professional. She likes the food. She tells me it tastes good and is better than she expected. She also likes the activities, although they've been on lockdown a lot since she moved in. Even though the staff and residents were vaccinated and boosted, there were some who were testing positive, so they limited some things, including activities and visitors. They do send a weekly report out letting us know the activities she's participating in. And they're back to full community functioning now, with visitors still limited.
