Marquis Place is not a good community for couples. There are no other couples here, so we feel like we don't have any other people to relate or talk to. The visiting hours are terrible, they are very limited. The hours are 9am-5pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays; 9am-730pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays; and 9am-3pm on the weekends. The staff could also use some improvement. They have a lack of staff and the staff who are there need more training. They also serve too much pasta, I wish they had more variety.

Upon visiting our Mom’s room at Wellington today, we found conditions to be unacceptable, especially given the amount of money we pay: 1. Cockroaches and their feces were all over the apartment, on the countertops, in and on the cabinets, in the bathroom, and under the furniture. I had her apartment placed on the pest control treatment list. I was informed that the exterminator wouldn’t be back for two weeks. My wife and I spent over two hours cleaning the place up. We probably be back tomorrow for another session. 2. Meal quality. She eats in her room, and has a somewhat restricted diet, so she doesn’t get what other residents get. Today, it was two frozen and heated hamburger patties, nothing more. I went to the dining room and checked what the other residents were eating. Their food could have been safely served to my Mother. 3. No hot water at the kitchenette sink for washing dishes. It was barely lukewarm for a couple of minutes then turned cold again.

The Waterford community itself and the cleanliness was a huge plus right away, however unless the management gets it together or new management comes in we would not recommend this community. During our loved ones their medicine was all messed up which became a huge concern for us. The community never communication really with the hospice nurses, or honestly our family. We could call and be on hold for 30 minutes, or never even get a call back. We paid in full for our loved one to stay two months, and unfortunately they did not stay the full two months and even though they said we would be refunded that is not happening. We feel that we are just being lied to.

This community was okay. I liked the atmosphere but when we tried to enroll it was terrible.

I would say to not go to this community. Some of the staff are good and some of them you never see. My husband was there for a month and I never seen the nurse. My loved one had sores and this was just not the place he did not get the care he should have gotten.

This community felt stuffy and did not seem like I would be able to blend in to the community like other places. Just did not seem like the right fit for me did not feel very welcoming. Made it seem like there were a lot of activities but there were not really any.

My main impression at The Wellington was the rooms were too small.

We were not at all impressed by our tour with The Waterford.

I was very displeased with them. They're understaffed. Some of the aides you almost had to brow beat to get them to do anything. They'd set my loved one's meal down on her tray table and not offer to help get her silverware out or anything like that, when she couldn't do it for herself. The exception were two of the aides, who were much better than the rest, [name removed] and [name removed]. A lot of them it seemed like it pained them to do things. I would say you get what you pay for. You don't get much help here overall.

Our family had an in person tour and immediately we just wanted to run away, it felt very much like an old fashioned nursing home.

The facility does not answer their phone nor do you have the ability to leave a massage for their director. I, as a provider find it very frustrating when I have to hang on hold for 20 minutes just to even get someone one the line. The phone mailboxes are always "full" so you are not able to leave a message. I have spoken to the leadership staff about this more than once, not rectified. If my loved one was having a serious medical issue and a medical decision had to be made, it might be a catastrophe!

I would recommend to avoid this community. When I spoke with marketing before my loved one moved in the way that it was portrayed is nothing like what it really is. The community does not match the brochures and what was promised. Things have started to go down hill since my loved one moved in. I am very dissapointed in the Waterford because I was looking for relief and that was not what was given. There are some good staff and then there are some that are not as great.

Moms first year was great, but once they lost administrative staff it all went downhill. The care went down tremendously and they were so understaffed. She ended up getting covid here. I would not recommend to anybody who is looking.

My family member is astute and has lived at Riverbend for several years. We have experienced several key staff turnover, including directors and activities folks. Dietary switches too often to count. Meal planning has waned - anyone that is diabetic cannot eat appropriately here. There are a lack of choices and a lack of understanding about nutritional needs for diabetics. The current executive director is unapproachable and had been there for several months before meeting residents. A lack of communication and a perception of an uncaring environment is what we have now. Moving our family member would be difficult on her - however it is much debated and discussed. If you have a chance to go somewhere else, do it. They don’t have WiFi, they have a bus, but residents don’t get to go out (this is even pre-pandemic). Our family member has missed many things and we have had to follow up multiple times on the most basic of needs. The current director is defensive and borderline rude.

Our family had an in person tour and there were still some restrictions and guidelines we did have to follow, but they were flexible and allowed us to see a few different rooms. However it was just not a nice community. We did not want our loved one living there.

I would tell others to keep looking at different communities. At the beginning they were over the top, until I got into the community. Then things weren't the same. I tried to talk to management and nothing has changed. The staff as a whole have changed over a few times. I tried calling the care team for three hours, and still no answer back after several voicemails. It smells like cigarettes, as residents smoke in the community.

I would not recommend for anybody who does not have severe dementia. Our loved one is at the beginning stages and they are totally ignoring our loved one. They are more focused on severe residents, so our loved one is not being looked out after. They are short staffed and it is just not worth the money it is very expensive.

The community is having an issue with staff members wearing their masks. There are maintenance requests that are not being addressed I have open for over two weeks. Communication is not good and I have trouble getting ahold of staff. I would not recommend this community at this time

The community did not provide the care that was needed. When we talked to them about the issues they said they would take care of them but didnt. I asked them to check on my loved one every 2 hours, they did not and several times she fell, and no one checked on her for 5 hours. I would not recommend this community to others

It's a beautiful property, but they just don't have their service levels where they need to be yet. They need to work on their nursing staffing, and not having so much turnover. But they're brand new, so we're trying to give them some leeway. They have a new director, and she's working on these things. I think it's going to be a great property within the next six months.
