Our family had an in person tour with The Rose of Round Rock and even though they answered all of our questions during the general walk through, but no extra info was given. Did not involve a visiting love one to give review so generally not impressed.

I think the community did well in "selling" their community, they gave a tour and explained all services provided. They can improve on communication, level of care provided in agreement signed, fixing maintenance issues, cleanliness and food services. Why- an extra fee of over [amount removed] was paid for an up level of care, this was not provided at all, just one example, they had no oxygen on site for patients in need of emergency oxygen. There was no assistance provided with mobility or going to the restroom, staff were often not seen and hard to find on all shifts. This service was promised but never received. Several items in my mothers room were damaged or broken and never repaired or fixed even though they were reported. All of the utensils, plates and silverware were constantly dirty. Food was bland and often not cooked well. Same meals over and over some inedible. Rooms weren't cleaned on a daily basis, they didn't have the correct sheets for my moms bed. Financials- be aware of the paperwork being signed as it won't match what they said or they will provide different forgives. They have no way to tell you what you're owed if you pay beyond monthly, they refer you to their headquarters in Texas, who also are of no help. They will say they owe you one amount, when in actuality they are shorting you thousands of dollars.

I wouldn't recommend the community for memory care. The memory care was understaffed and didn't seem to be prepared to care for the resident's health concerns. The staff didn't seem to know how to handle resident's who didn't want to sleep at night either. The staff communication was very vague and hardly was available to speak to the family when we had questions or concerns. In fact they recommended that the family stay away for an entire month to allow our loved one to get acclimated to the community. The activities director was very good. In fact, she was the only one who would speak to the family and answer our questions. The food was delivered to the residents; however, the staff wouldn't interact with the residents during this time either.

We were overcharged, they only checked on [name removed]three times, to see if they had taken their medication. The bus driver quit and I was assured my loved one would be transported to the doctor but had to hire elderly bus. my loved has dementia and had to rely on public transportation. I was terribly worried about them while I was in another State on personal business. Cleanliness of the shower was poor, it had mildew. Never again!!

Let me start by saying, we have loved the Waterford on Huebner community. The residents are truly wonderful, the prior administrators and staff were joyful and caring people. Unfortunately, as happens with many changes of ownership, the facility is in a more rapid decline than I’ve seen in my many years. Everything is being done as cheaply as possible, and it shows in almost every aspect. The food is almost unbearable - with one resident recently comparing a dinner to dog food. Staff turnover is high and a real problem (as they likely pay very little). The bus hasn’t been operated in months (as no staff to drive it). The cleaners do a poor job. The facility is literally overrun with cockroach’s - across counters, on floors, in drawers, even crawling across residents in their rooms. I hate to say this, but I would not recommend this facility to anyone and we are likely going to need to move my mother soon.

My mom was in the Memory Care Unit. I believe that the Courtyards was not equipped or interested in providing top quality memory care. I would not recommend the Courtyards to anyone especially those looking for MC. The Director was especially lacking in his willingness to address problems.

These are ratings I would give at the time we moved my loved one out of Cedar Bluff. I cannot recommend this facility until several issues are addressed. Cedar Bluff recently went through a managing company change and almost all staff have resigned. Entire program and facility needs to be reviewed and revised. I would recommend you be present. Check on your loved one often. Follow-up to be sure the care plan is being followed.

It is a newer facility so it offered nicer amenities. Overall, understaffing and lack of staff training seemed to be prevalent issues.

It was an okay community; however, the grounds were not adequate for us.

The community is in an unwelcoming neighborhood due to it being in an industrial area.

Chef changed right after mom got there. Food was not good, often cold. They couldn't keep staff and the Temps did not respond to mom very quickly. Everyone was leaving, horrible food, poor aides with the exception of one.

We had an appointment for a tour of this facility, but the director didn't seem to know we were coming. The tour was very rushed and the place looked more like a hospital than an assisted living facility. It was very old and they mainly had shared rooms available.

Apartment is very nice and has a porch which is very nice. Windows in the apartment cannot be opened. The nurses desk is vacant most of the day. Don't have enough help. Have waited 45 minutes for someone to respond after pulling the pull cord in the apartment. Food is no always what is on the menu and portions are small. Some of the staff is not friendly.

I would not recommend this place. I wasn't impressed with the dementia unit, and the rooms were smaller.

Needs painting and repairs. Poor maintenance due to no help. No outside area to sit, could use rockers. Wi-Fi never connected - poor service - ignore TV - senior - often poor or unavailable. No activity person / exerciser covers. No activity program with crafts. Very little furniture on first floor - stripped bare. Exercise program does not provide enough functional activity - too hard to do. Used to be a 5 and I miss it! With new director we should improve with new help.

Our loved one recently moved into the facility and we thought this was the best choice for them but now have serious doubts. They seem to be extremely short staffed, and communication once your loved one is there and the monies are received, becomes near nonexistent. Today multiple attempts to check on our family member were fruitless as nobody answered the phone, to the point we considered calling law enforcement to do a wellness check on the facility. Once someone finally answered this evening we were told we couldn't speak directly to the director of nursing, nor would they take a message for her. When we explained that the old, worn out mattress we have repeatedly asked about getting switched out because it poses a fall risk, they suggested we contact the PT person and it would be Monday or Tuesday before they could do anything. To say that they're available 24/7 is laughable. They don't answer, don't return calls and when you actually get someone on the phone, they have attitude.

I had a horrible experience at The Waterford. The guy above me was super loud - it sounded like he was stomping around all the time. I called the police to have them make him stop and they sent me to the hospital. The staff were not very nice at all. I fell off a Gurnee and a couple of the girls laughed at me and didn't cover me up. They had girls come in from the community and sit with us and I don't know what that was about - then I was charged for it. Overall it was not a good experience. They took a picture box that was special to me right when I moved in and I never got it back before I left. It could be a nice place because it is beautiful but they have the wrong people running the place.

I have a relative there and over the past few years the service has become terrible. They cannot keep ant help-kitchen and clinical. They serve hotdogs, pizza and grilled cheese sandwiches to clients-so much for chef prepared meals. When visiting I came down the hall to find 2 medical assistants in the lounge with there feet up on a table and texting on their phones. When my family member was sick and taken to the ER I was not notified and I had to bring food and drink to them when they returned back to the facility. When they fell and used emergency call button, they waited 30 minutes on the floor for someone to come and assist. I would recommend that anyone considering this place talk with the residents when the employees are not around to get a true idea of what goes on.

I was not impressed with Summit Point. Their memory care unit was locked and at the end of a hallway with no outside access. If residents wanted to leave they had to be escorted out. They also did not take memory care residents out on the bus. We thought our loved one would feel very trapped here.

We did not have a good experience. Our mother was admitted to the memory care unit, and we found that the staff were not trained and were actually ill-equipped - they did not know how to manage a true Alzheimer's patient. Our mother was provided no direction. She lost weight. She developed infections. She developed behaviors - because there was no oversight by the staff. They just did not know how to handle a true Alzheimer's patient. And there's a big difference between Alzheimer's and dementia. With the leadership, initially they voiced concern to what I had to say. But they lacked follow through on the concerns and on what hey said they would do. Near the end, they were totally dismissive of our concerns.
