Parents have lived there over 5 yrs. In the last years a quick downturn. Food, nursing,and care-all deteriorated. Fees have gone up and they try to raise rates any way they can-nursing levels, food, staff.. But you don't receive the improved care. You have to be on your toes and end up providing care. Then you are hassled by nursing director. So the way the rate cost on the scale is not accurate. It is high. So use your sense and know that the in the door presentation is off the charts. But buyer beware.

I’m not a fan. They could do a lot better. Spend time monitoring the place. I could go through a list of things that could be more professionally handled. Dirty clothes that sits for two weeks. Ungloved hands dispensing meds, and food. Meds not dispensed at all. Last week a woman asked me for help. The aide left her in the dining room and forgot to take her back to her room. Unmonitored community room in the memory care unit. That is getting better. I could go on, but you get what I’m saying. It doesn’t take much to get it professionally run but they don’t seem to want to do it.

Overall my Mother-in-law has settled in, and she loves her room. I would say the biggest complaint she has and I have to agree with her would be the food! When you get in that position to have to go to a home, you look forward to a good experience in the dining room. They need a good cook and good quality food. Unfortunately that not the case. If your meals are important to you, I wouldn't recommend this place.

This facility by far is very nice, easy for residents to move around, bright and spacious, and nicely located in town. As for the care, the staff is nice but it is hard for them to find and keep good help. In the last eight months the staff is a like a revolving door, coming and going all the time. They provide some activities but not like they used too. Have gone to management but they say they are working on it. But nothing has changed in eight months. Over the last year the quality has been going downhill. If your family member doesn’t need much assistance, this may be the right place. Otherwise I would think twice??

We moved Mom into Rose Arbor a few months ago for assisted living. We did not realize at the time they were going through major transitions with staff and management. Be cautious if considering this property for your loved one. In these few months, they have changed Executive Directors twice and are on their third director of nursing. Because of the new management, there are numerous policy changes for the staff, and they are also leaving. Communication and follow through are lacking. The new director is trying, but is overwhelmed with issues. We hope things improve soon and we don't have to move again. Food is better than average, and the apartments are large for assisted living. They have a wide variety of activities, and the staff and residents are very friendly.

Beautiful welcoming area. The Independent Living apartments and hallways were outdated; the curtain swags looked like they must have been lovely in 1995. The kitchenettes were sad with out of date cabinetry and appliances. Did not seem to have a lot of social activities.

No covered parking. Brand new. Not a possibility.

Initially we really liked this place. But I spoke with the Managing Director about a medication administration question last Tuesday. She said she'd get back to me that day or the next day after she spoke to headquarters. When I didn't hear from her by Thursday, I sent a follow-up email. Still haven't heard back. The facility and amenities are nice, and the residents definitely seemed happy. But the lack of responsiveness is a problem for me.

Overall Waterford at College Station is a good place. Activities director is excellent and so attentive and compassionate to residents. She has good, creative ideas and carries them out well. She is full of smiles for everyone. Food is usually very good and on time. Sometimes areas are clean, but sometimes not too clean with smoking trash around outside porches, and some areas left dirty indoors too long. Several well trained staff members are gracious and always kind with residents. More trained staff members are needed who are gentle, caring, honest, and not too attached to their cell phones. Sometimes the appropriate number of staff members are not working to meet needs and listed ratios. Memory care area has had no hot water for at least 5 days and director reports they are working on it. I find this lack of hot water for at least 5 days totally unacceptable. This is one reason my overall rating is not higher. I do not know a better facility in the area to provide what we need. They have not made mistakes in billing as some do.

The Lodge is lovely and has many services many we might never use. We have decided we would miss a kitchen and it is very costly; however, we have not made any final decisions yet.

Very large community pretty spread out. It didn't seem to have a very homey atmosphere. On the plus side the rooms are very large with great storage.The staff I spoke with were nice.

Nice balcony but no laundry, kitchen, tub and too small. Not interested.

While on my tour I was shown a one bedroom apartment and that’s what I was wanting but unfortunately, I had to wait because they had no rooms available. When one became available and I moved in, it was at the complete end of a long hallway and it wasn’t even the same model I had looked at. I am in an electric wheelchair and I cannot get out of my apartment. It’s a big frustration because I have to pull my emergency cords to get someone to let me out and they are short staffed as it. I feel so isolated and I cannot get out of my room when I want to.

One bathroom and no kitchen.

I toured this community when looking for a place for my Mom. It was kind of isolated looking but they had a lot of views available. However, the price they quoted us was a bit too out of our budget. The largest studio they had available made me feel claustrophobic and that was without furniture being in there. The PR person that I spoke with was able to answer my questions and seemed knowledgeable. The facility itself definitely had the feel of a top-level assisted living community. Ultimately, we chose a different community that fit our needs a bit better.

I toured Rose Arbor while looking for living options for my Brother-in-law. I felt that the community was alright, but it is an old facility, and seemed outdated to me. I also didn’t like that the memory care unit was tiny and the outside space were small, so I chose to look at other communities.

Not really sure, but it looks like all have a kitchenette??

Facility was clean and residents well cared for. Not a good fit for my uncle who will only require minimal assistance while current residents seemed to require a much higher level of care. There were no activities that my uncle was interested in.

When we arrived there was no one manning front door and reception area which is left unlocked. Memory Care wing is kept locked we found when Director gave us a tour. Front door and reception area was still unmanned after the tour. After touring several places I think Whitley Place is overpriced considering how old the place looks. We also thought Memory Care area was too small.

Independent living----Staff is friendly and generally considerate. Food is OK but food service leaves room for improvement. Television is terrible, most stations have lines and roll like TV's of the 50's. Basic system is digital Direct TV with old analog cabling system. Maintenance seems to be overwhelmed judging from the amount of time it takes to perform simple tasks.
