Sometimes my loved one has to wait a while for things to be updated or taken care of but overall the place is very nice. It is expensive but with the feeling and the experience that she is getting it is worth it.

I though Edgeworth Park at New Town was absolutely beautiful. The staff was very friendly and the place was very clean. It was a very good your, but we found another community that fit my father's needs a little better.

The staff is very friendly and the place is clean. What they can improve on would be to put more effort and structure into their operations. The food is inconsistent, a lot is fried or drenched in butter so not very appealing. They just fired the chef so hopefully the quality with someone new will improve. Anyone (non food prep) working at HWTE can walk into the kitchen (health code violation) and the wait staff often just sit around not paying attention to their tables. The activities are also sub par not much effort goes into planning. The calendar is basically on repeat each month. No outings to concerts or plays... I could go on. The money that we pay is comparable if not higher than other communities which have better food and more robust activities. Things at Hunters Woods at Trails Edge need to be tightened up.

The facilities are top-notch. If not the best we've seen, among the best. It's a truly luxury feel. Feels like a 4-star hotel. The staff are terrific as well. Kind, attentive, knowledgeable, proactive. The services are also terrific - zero issues, all good experiences. The food is really good, though service at meals can often be s-l-o-w...they need to work on that. They try very hard to make it an interesting and engaging place to be - live music a couple of times a week, happy hours regularly, etc. So each element of the place is done very well, top notch. The only issue we have found is they struggle to have a sense of overall community...or at least that's how it seems to us. There's not really a "Cruise Director" or "Camp Counselor" role - like we had at Dad's last apartment. Someone who does the rah-rah, gets everyone together and puts an emphasis on group...as opposed to individual...participation. I am not sure if that's by design? Maybe some prefer to have more 'space', have the ability to pick and choose what they participate in, etc. But for my Dad's specific case, I'd love it if they were more energetic/active/forceful in getting folks together.

The staff is very friendly and welcomed my parents. The facility is beautifully furnished and so clean being it's only 2 years old. Shortly after the move-in the management company changed, and although the staff is exceptional and eased residents into changes, they lost the chef, a few of the wait staff resulting in not the same positive experience.

I’d give 4+ stars if possible. Overall, it seems like my mom’s happy. I used to oversee a senior apt. Complex. The state regulations are pretty detailed and I get the impression that the facility follows them to the best of their ability. Important stuff-medication administration,, help with dressing, showers, safety is excellent. The facility is always clean as is my mom’s place. Hurray! My mom uses the car service for doc appts and it works smoothly. The staff has always been so helpful and kind, with very few exceptions. There’s been turn over when the facility switches ownership. Management and the person who is the ‘all around helper outer’ have been amazing when needed. Reception staff are wonderful and make us smile.

The reason it is not all fives is because they lost several articles of my mom's clothing and her bedding. We were never informed that this is a major issue and I confirmed this in speaking with other residents. One day my mom's laundry and laundry basket were located on a different floor in the facility. Anyone that moves into Echo Lake should be advised that they should label all of their clothing. We were not informed of any of this. It would've been helpful had we known.

My dad was on the edge of needing a nursing home (vs high acuity assisted living). Daylesford assured me they would be able to meet his needs. Staff was usually willing to help with anything he asked, but were not necessarily observant in seeing what he needed. Night shift was not his favorite- variety of reasons. End of life hospice would have not been comfortable for him if I hadn't intervened (which in fairness, was recommended by a staff member). My background is as an ICU nurse, so my expectations were high, and I could recognize the gaps in care and work to fill them. I don't think his stay would have been as good without someone to do that. I worried for residents who were alone. I do think my dad was happier there than he would have been in a nursing home. And I'm not really sure his care would have been better in that setting. I wish I could have continued to keep him at my house.

care was difficult in the beginning. Just have to stay after them to do what they say! they change a bit. But are currently stable! The people who give direct care are great. In the beginning with the admin staff ( nursing, doctors and Empowerment -the OT PT providers) you will need to schedule a weekly or biweekly team meeting. We did these online. It was necessary to hear what was going on and point out details that they may not know regarding how to work with our family member.

I loved Modena for mom. Sadly she was only there for 3 mos before she passed. I had terrible experiences with JSSA hospice. If i ever had an issue it was never about the care other than JSSA hospice who were extremely disappointing. My issues were more about maintenance/ room stuff and they were always addressed and remedied quickly. If i had the finances I would love to one day reside at Modena!

Moved mother-in-law in January. Staff are friendly on the surface. Not sure if we asked more questions than others, but we found slow responses and/or conflicting information from a range of staff. She's been in for 1 month. During this time, Trulee had an unfortunate stubborn GI virus that had the facility in lockdown for a couple of weeks. Mother-in-law also transitioned from independent to assisted living (we anticipated this switch - yet did not think it would happen within the first 2 weeks). Many moving parts during a challenging period.

Hi there! I moved my dad in at the beginning of December. The best best thing is that the staff are always friendly with me and my dad. I think they really care about him. This is the most important aspect of it all and they are reliably kind. He is pretty polite so he just says the food is ok. But he hints about how it isn’t. “There is only one really good plate and only sometimes.” I ate with him a couple of times. Just enough to know I didn’t want to pay for the food. It’s disappointing because he eats there three times a day. The other residents complain about the same thing. I’d expect for the cost, the food would be a step up. I don’t think it needs to be fancy, but it should taste good. I’m hoping it’s just temporary :)

The facility was very nice. Mom had a living area, kitchen/eating area, bedroom, and a large bathroom. There was a lovely courtyard with chairs and tables for use in nice weather. There was a nice room in the facility that we could reserve to host events with Mom and her family - like a birthday party or Thanksgiving dinner. There was onsite PT and an onsite hair salon which was very convenient.

Main areas appear to be very clean. Cleaning of her apartment is not always top notch. Staff are typically very friendly to residents and family. They don't provide direct care, but they do check on her, deliver her meals as she can't easily get to dining room , etc. Food is on ok but not excellent. On occasion when I have eaten there, veggies were barely cooked and even hard to cut with their dull cutlery. My friend couldn't eat them. While our loved one doesn't participate in the activities, they have a full calendar of activities and events. Average I would say for Raleigh market. Some higher end continuing care places cost more, but Willows is at the max that our loved one can afford. So it depends on perspective.

My dad is very frail, needing a lot of hands on care. I was assured Daylesford offered everything he needed, although he was at the high end of the care available there. With only a couple exceptions, staff has been friendly and caring. They got a new director of health and wellness shortly after my dad moved in who was able to resolve some of the initial concerns I had about his care. My dad does not always ask for the help he needs, and they seem to be more geared toward helping with something when asked. This can leave a bit of a gap in meeting his needs. I feel I’ve had to be more involved in making sure he gets some of what should be done (shower frequency, skin care, fall safety) than I expected. Some of the things I used to keep him mobile and safe are not allowed because of rules and guidelines all facilities have to comply with. He has declined a lot in the 3 months he has been there. The facility is beautiful and there are a lot of activities offered.

My mom is normally up and out of her room when I go. They give her regular showers and change her regularly. Always healthy snacks between meals. She did have one UTI since she's been there and ended up in ICU that is why I gave quality of care a 3.
